"Slush-BOX" was a derogatory term drag-racers used to have for automatic transmissions:sluch bucket? are you going SUV on me Wickets?
RPM
now, most sucessful 'weekend-warriors run them for consistentcy, as do I in my '79 Z28....
The closest thing to an SUV for me is my old 1/2-ton 4WD Shiverlay, that I bought to pull the Z28 to the races years ago.....
It, and my '82 Corvette (as-well-as my daily-driver Dodge) are ALL automatic transmissions.....

thanks guys for all the compliments. I have developed the guts because I wanted to post at Missy's forum. And also, i got tired of keeping the high heel interest to myself. so, with a few women i trusted, i decided to try my luck.
only one said no.

As BERNADETTE would say:
" HER LOSS!!!!! "

Had a hard time joining this Forum:
I tried to register in mid-summer, but, for SOME reason, I couldn't even register.......
Just a few days ago, I tried registering again, was denied, then I just tried to 'log-in' as-if I already WAS a member, and I was accepted.....

Man, I thought I'd heard some lame excuses.....this one i heard:
the heels will hurt my back and i wont be able to have kids!
i heard that one too many times
RPM
Thinking I'd be a poor parent/role-model, I never wanted (nor HAD) children:
that excuse woulda been a reason TO wear heels!!!!!

And I still don't have any shoes that colour
Here ya go!!!!!

I fell in love with these...but look at the price!
Like your driver, #8;
don't care for the boots, though, OR the price!

What reasons have you heard for why these are evil shoes?
My ex-wife had a very good reason:
she was afflicted with polio at birth (one leg was 3/4" longer than the other), and that led to several joint ailments as the years passed.....
The ONLY 2 reasons my G/F won't wear heels ANYWHERE (race-track, shopping mall, day-long ride in the hot-rod, athletic event, car show, train-spotting, etc.) is:
#1: not allowed to wear heels at her work;
#2: and if we have snow and ice on the ground / streets / sidewalks (and even THEN she may wear them, too!
Maybe we'll be classified as "stick-in-the-mud-Yanks", but we don't know of any men who wear heels.....

I forgot to ask, did she (he daughter) still wear the dress/shoes?
Shane
I believe-so, to school dances and functions.
"WE" (both her mom and I) told her (the daughter) the outfit was from "US", but I think she knew that I was behind it.....
We'd 'only' been dating each other a year at the time, and that daughter hadn't accepted me:
she has 'loosened-up' since then, and we now get-along much better.....
-
My girlfriend has a 5-speed, stick-shift Toyota with very close, narrow pedals, a small foot-box, and she wears size 6/size7 shoes.....
Since she now wears heels often, she finds it difficult to changes gears in her car while 'perched', so she often wears 'civilized-shoes' while driving:
my vehicles are all automatics, which she has no problems driving around in heels, except the Corvette (floor-board angle is too shallow).
He next car will be a 'slush-box'.....

It's not so-much a "challenge-thing" as much as she just thinks leathers is 'biker-chick/street-walker' attire...Not many daughters are used to having a fashion challenge from their mum. Sounds like sour grapes or jealousy by the daughter as mum might actually be showing her up in her dress sense. She's probably used to some of her freinds whos mum fits the "I'm over 40, overweight and wear pascal tops and long shorts in flat shoes everyday as the uniform"
But it could also be that she admires your girlfriends leather clothing but simply doesn't have the money to purchase the same. Why not take her out for a shopping trip with your wallet at the ready and buy let her choose a similar outfit?
I don't think scheckels is the problem, nor 'jealousy', and I doubt she'd willingly-accept a clothing gift from me:
I'm "just the guy dating her mom".....
On one occasion we were out at a plaza as a group, and the younger daughter tried-on a very nice silk/satin/????? Oriental-styled dress and heels that looked like it had been made JUST for her:
she wanted it very badly for an up-coming school dance/function, but her mother said "We'll think about it.....", and while everybody else ate dinner, I went and bought the entire ensemble for her, as a gift.
While she was very grateful, her mother later told me she (the daughter) felt very uncomfortable accepting this simple present.

When I met my girlfriend, she was Asst. Sales Mgr. at a furniture store, and occasion, during big Winter-season sales, she'd wear A leather article of clothing (a blazer, OR a skirt):
when the store owner complimented her on "how well you deport yourself", we figured that was a 'clear tracks ahead' signal to continue that practice, and we bought several leather 2-and-3 piece suits blazer/slacks/skirt) in various colors (Black, Red, Gray, Dark Red, White, Royal Blue, etc.).
Soon after our 'leather-palooza' spree, she took a job where wearing leather, or ANY skirt, for that matter (in a large hardware/home-improvement store) wouldn't be appropriate, so she wears them out for dinner dates as often as possible (RPMindy has seen some pictures, I believe).
Her easy-going 23-year old daughter doesn't comment on her mother wearing leather frequently, but her 18 year-old thinks BERNADETTE-IN-A-VETTE looks 'slutty' going out for dinner in a wool sweater, leather bazer and slacks/skirt, and heels/heeled-boots:
oddly, the youngest girl is often caught 'spying' her mother's collection of lucite-platform sandals and patent-leather pumps, and has 'asked' to wear them to school dances and functions.....

Keep alert around RPMindy:
he's a "sneaky-kinda-guy".....

This is my first post on this Forum, so please be gentle, OK?
higheeluv is a friend of mine from our days at Missy's High Heel Forum, where he posted pictures I've taken of my girl-friend, BERNADETTE-IN-A-VETTE for me because I don't know how to actually post the pix myself.....
As-of this moment, higheeluv has my authority to post those pictures here, on this Forum, for your viewing pleasure:
I hope you enjoy them as much as the gang at Missy's High Heel Forum did.....

Nope, you hit the nail right on the head.
(Boy, that first linked picture shows just how filthy the Corvette's carpet was that evening.....
why didn't you TELL me it looked that bad?)
BERNADETTE-IN-A-VETTE was married for many years to a man who 'forbid' her to dress-up as a lady, but had grown-up wearing skirts and heels throughout her teens and early twenties:
on our first date, she commented that she "need to get a pair of shoes for an up-coming party for my daughter", so before dinner, we stopped at a Mall to shop.
She was 'doing-her-own-thing', looking-over more 'sensible-shoes' (read as UGLY/FLAT), and I didn't comment until she picked-up a pair of 'decent' Black 3.5" (14cm ?) heeled-pumps, when I finally said:
"Now, THOSE are a pair of lady's shoes!!!!!"
She smiled and replied, "I haven't worn heels in YEARS, but I used-to all the time in high-school and college.....
Let me try them on, and see how they fit....."
I believe we bought a pair of 'sensible-shoes', AND the Black pumps, which matched the dress (one of very few dresses she owned at the time) she wore that afternoon/evening.
BERNADETTE wore those Black pumps that evening to dinner, a baseball game, a trip to the Comedy Club, and eventually to her daughter's function:
the more 'sensible-shoes' were returned, with the refunded money being used for another pair of heels!!!!!
In less than 3 short years, her heel-collection has grown to VERY close to (if not exceeds) triple-digits, and she has maybe 6 dozen skirts and dresses:
altho she has fairly small feet (size 6-7 US, depending on style/make), she won't even look at heels less than 4" in height, and walks effortlessly in most heels up to and including 5", and in 6" heels with 3/4" mini-platforms.
Her current job, at a large American home improvement chain-store, forbids TRUE heels on the job-site:
she is, however, allowed to wear a 'stacked-heel' shoe or boot, but it must either have laces or a zipper, and she can't find a style that wears comfortably (12-hour shifts on bare concrete floors with 49+ year-old legs is very painful.....)
An accomplished seamstress, who designs and manufacturers everything from wedding gowns to custom drapery in her spare-time, she often buys bargain-basement items, then 'alters' them to a perfect fitment!
The "Red Leather Skirt/Red Heels" pictures were taken on a 'nothing-to-do/let's-do-SOMETHING' summer Sunday evening, after she worked until 7PM, then cleaned-up for a late-evening dinner-date and to hear a band play:
between both of her jobs, BERNADETTE has little free time, but local restaurants, ice cream parlors, weekend car-cruises, shopping malls, etc., are 'usually' treated to seeing this twice a week, if-not more often when our schedules allow.
I believe that higheeluv has some other pictures, taken in Spring/Summer '04, from a few days when she and I just "took the Corvette out for a ride along the railroad tracks to get the stink blowed-off", some of her sitting at her computer doing her '04 tax-return, and even a few "RPM-style/sneaky-shots" taken during her daughter's graduation ceremony, that he can show you, also.....
..... are you waiting for a written invitation?
Get into it, son!!!!!
