  1. I got my Spicey's! *dances* I have to admit that I didn't get them at Zappo's though.. I got them at Off Broadway Shoes since they were only 40.00 there and I had a 5.00 discount for them. Soooooo 35.00 instead of 60.00... I couldn't resist. They are quite comfy, for 4.25 inch heels in a size 8.5 US. Though I have to admit they aren't as easy to walk in as some. I'm not used to the underslung heel, it makes for a different balanceing experiance. Even my husband noticed that I walk differently in them. Interesting! Jinxie

  2. Ok, it is time to update this diary again. I got my new corset in on Monday, it is _alot_ different from my old one. Oh my.. much stricter, tighter, stiffer, hmmm.. all and all very very nice. It is a lovey royal purple coutil and I keep forgetting to measure the waist, it will either bring my waist down to 27 or 26. It has a very, very stiff underbusk that helps keep my stomach rather smooth instead of puffing out like the last one did. I'm having a harder time getting used to this one though, it is that drasticly different. The new one is at least twice as heavy as the old one, amazing the difference. I'm in love :D As for the ballet heels, I'm making alot of progress with these this time around. I've almost got my knees straight, actually I can straighten them out, but it takes thought. If I"m just doing my short walking spurts then my knees tend to be bent. The oddest thing I've found that if I'm 'danceing' in them I will pull the heel off of the ground and balance on the toes :-? That surprised the heck out of me the first time I did it, I almost fell over. Oopsss! I'm going to try to get brave enough to manage a picture or at least get some measurements going here soon. Jinxie

  3. I have never been given the cold shoulder in 20 years of shoe buying in England. I think this is one difference between England and the USA. I get the impression that certain parts of the USA are very countrified, religious, and traditional values reign supreme; like they have not seen many people from out of town. A big contrast to more developed areas like the North East or Pacific coast. This is what people have told me.

Oh my yes! I've lived in Boston, MA and now live in Louisville, KY. What a big difference. Louisville is, in theory, a city :-? It is large enough, but does it lack alot of the tolerance and diversity that I am used to in Boston. Not everyone is completely intolerant, but there is a distinct difference. Perhaps people are less jaded here? I'm not sure, they are friendlier, which is nice as well. I'm not even getting into the hills of western Kentucky here, wow... that just gets to flat out intollerant, prejudice, the whole nine yards. And again, I'm sure it isn't everyone, heck I know it isn't, but the majority.. most likely :D

  4. Zappo's has some of the most amazing customer service I have come across anyplace on the net. I bought a pair of shoes that were listed as all leather. When I got them home I tried them on, they fit well. I put them in the closet and threw out the box and such. After that I went to wear them about a week later. I noticed that on the inside of the shoe it said 'man made upper' ... Ooopss. so much for leather :-? I did not have my box and had little hope of being able to return the shoes. However I sent them an email explaining mistake, telling them about my lack of box, and seeing if I could return them. Well of course I can!?! What a responce! I have to admit, I am a procrastinator at heart, so I still haven't sent them back yet, but a few days ago I got a phone call from zappos that was concerned that since I was returning the shoes for a defect that I could get my refund before the shoes were received, or get a replacement shipped out imediately! Wow! I am still floored. I was busy so I only got a message on my machine, but for them to even call to ask.. that said alot to me. I love my zappos! And around here in Kentucky the prices are about the same as shoe shops but with alot better selection. My next purchase.. chinese laundry spicey, pictured above. *drool* I can hardly wait! Jinxie

  5. That is awsome Nate! I bet that you missed some of the other looks too, the people puzzleing it out, the younger folks thinking of just how 'cool' you looked, and the others that didn't even notice. It is funny, all the years I spent in a big city and I never once noticed a man in heels. I cannot imagine I never came across one, I never noticed. Funny huh? Jinxie

  6. If you pay attention to when BJ was using caps, only when refering to where he clicked to where he was looking on the forum, Itink his post would be seen as simply an appology not agressive. Blushing smilley faces just don't seem agressive :-? JinxieKat

  7. For the tall sizes in the US Sears and the J.C. Penny cataloge used to have a good selection. I worked with a woman who was 6' tall on the nose and with a very slender build, even after she had her first child. She would shop in catalogs more than stores, bigger selection! Jinxie

  8. There are alot of muscles in the foot pretty strong too. You should see some of the things I can pick up with my toes *lol* That makes alot of sence about the arch being a muscle though, after all for more years than I care to think of humans were bare foot... the arch had to deal with that some how. I don't have any problems with my arch getting tired in heels, more the ball of my foot at this point. Toe BURN! Ouchh! :-? Jinxie

  9. Very very carefully! I've found that it helps the most to keep the long view of the terain and simply walk around the really bad spots. It takes practice though. I guess all the running around I did as a school girl in 2.5" heeled boots durning the winter has paid off. There was a thread on here somewhere about your first high heels. I had forgotten about those boots till now. Lovely pair of black, fake fur lined winter boots with a rubber soul and a high heel. I still miss those boots! You cannot find nice looking, warm boots like that anymore. Unfortunately, I out grew them! Ugh. :-? Jinxie

  10. Ahh that explains the high instep thing. I bet I have high arches from all the years of ballet and dance training. When I lie down or even just have my feet dangleing they automaticly point. It wasn't until I got married that I realised that this isn't normal. I thought my husband was strange cause he couldn't point his toes like I can. Oopss. My bad! It's funny, now that I've read alot on here I find that I am more aware of how people react to my shoes if I'm wearing high heels. I'll even find myself indulging in some shoe play if someone is really taking a good look. I'm thinking of splurging come January and getting a pair from I think it is classic pumps? They have the low vamp and sides so you can 'see it all'... I think it is going to be interesting! It is nice to know that I"m making someone's day out there *lol* Jinxie

  11. That is wonderful Pam.. sounds like it was a ball of a night. Had a pretty boring Halloween here, but that's Ok. Handing out candy to the kiddo's was fun. Good luck Jim! It sounds like a positive though, I doubt your boss is going to urge you to do something just to knock you down for doing it. Enjoy! Jinxie

  12. I have flat feet...i think and i can wear heels ok...the only problem i have is that i have a high instep meaning finding boots to fit me is a B***ARD of a job. :drinking:

I've heard that term before.. what is a high instep? I always have a time finding boots I can get on my feet but I never really thought about it.

  13. Ok, I've been curious about this for a while.. so here I ask :-? I have high arches, it has always made finding comfortable sneakers difficult. Most are much to low to be even remotely comfortable. I often wish that more shoes had the super arch that you can find on High Heels Forever website. They just look so comforable! Does having regular or low arches or even flat feet affect wearing high heels? I've also read a few things here that indicate that some folks like to see the arch of the foot above the side of the shoe.. So what do you all think? Jinxie

  14. Hehe, actually the new iPod fixes that battery problem. They get up to 12 hours of battery life these days depending on if you use the shuffle function or not. Very nice anymore :-? But, to put this OT.. I'm trying to get brave enough to put a pic up on here. Perhaps when I get my corset. I"m just so camera shy, but oddly enough an exhabitionist in public. Now go figure that one out. I just hate how I look in pictures most of the time! Jinxie

  15. Just start using the other operating systems out there for computers. Linux is one that will run on a PC platform, personally I switched to Apple computers just for reasons like this. Windoz XP (I think that is the version) came out with this lovely little thing built into it. After so many reformats/reinstalls on your computer you would have to call Microsoft to get a 'code' to reinstall it. You would have to explain why you were reinstalling it again and hope they would give you a code. Yikes! I could easily reformat my hard drive 2x's a year because Windoz and the net don't always mix well. I can see that working well. "Gee Mr. Tech Person, I'm reformatting because your OS sucks and won't let me delete an infected file and just reinstall that file" Hmm.. think that would work? :-? Jinxie

  16. Oh I don't know, sounds normal to me! I love high heels and technology myself. I've got all sorts of gizmos.. My most recent ones have to do with music. iPod, MP3 CD player in the car, etc. I don't get the pedel pumping pictures, but I must admit, I do like cruising down the road in my car with the music cranked up with a pair of high heels on. Purrrr... Jinxie
