  1. Wow, thats a cool story and an amazing outfit! I've also been out a number of times wearing lycra or wetlook shiny leggings but all apart from once it's just been with trainers (very boring). The one time I wore knee length boots with them, they were plain, low wedge heel black boots. I passed a few people but no one noticed! I think I should wear my stilletos next time! Keep it up!

  2. I bought a fabulous pair of dark blue skinny leg jeans the other week - they are high waisted and have a lacing up the back.

there are a similar pair on sale here: (if I got the link right)

I've worn them out a couple of times now - once with my black knee length boots (only a low wedge heel) over the top and a short jacket that just covered the high waist- it's a look I strongly recommend!! No -one really batted an eyelid either, must wear that combination again soon.

  3. This is so true! I've been mixing it up for about the past two years and it certainly feels good to wear (almost) what I like. I think that the majority of my trousers come from the womens side of the shop as I find they fit better and more importantly I think they look and feel great! A good example was when we went on holiday and I wore a pair of shiny PVC trousers, but teamed them up with a pale green tight long sleeved t-shirt and a black v necked jumper - it softened the whole image, and if people stunned and confused - good for them!! I've only worn a skirt out a night but aim to correct that soon. Right, where's my catsuit!! Nikki

  4. Thought I would say hi too! I haven't posted in ages but am still going out in heels - more often now in fact. Must post more often and post some of my pics soon too! Still kicking myself that I missed the "world heel meet" - oh well there's always this year! Nik

  5. I saw a street heeler in my home town on Saturday morning wearing a pair of rather fine looking 5.5 inch chunky heel Raid ankle boots with long trousers and a short leather jacket. (it was me!! Will post some pictures of me wearing those boots when I fix my camera)

  6. going back a few posts, I know - but I bought a pair of flare nixie jeans from ebay a month ago or so, and I found them to be quite small. They were meant to be size 10 but I'm sure they are smaller. I've worn female cut jeans (and my denim catsuit) out loads of times and I don't think anyone has really noticed that they are cut differently (or have no pockets) as most people just see denim and don't think about the fact that they are tighter around the thighs and bum!

  7. Hi, haven't posted recently but thought it was about timeto make my contribution to this freestyle fashion thread:

The boots only have a 1.5" wedge heel but I do like them! I have't yet been out wearing this as it does push the boat - maybe on the weekend though! I'll post some pics of my pointy boots sometime soon as well.

    Hope the link works...

  8. I've just come back from a 10 minute stroll down to the postbox wearing my black knee length leather skirt, tights and black knee length wedge boots and I have to say it was quite fun! I cheated a bit to start by wearing my long greatcoat (as it is starting to get quite cold here) which effectively hid the skirt as it comes down to just over my knees. The boots were on full show though! When I realised that no one was about other than the odd car driving past I undid my coat and wore my skirt with pride! I've been out and about wearing the same boots and tights with denim hotpants and a shorter coat and that didn't provoke many looks when I went shopping. In my opinion wearing a skirt does put across a very different look and it is harder to get a look I am happy with. Oh well, I guess I have to do some more shopping for clothes and boots, and go out more!! Nik

  9. I've been meaning to post my latest news for the last week or so and reading the last message about 'wearing fem clothes fitting with a mans lifestyle' reminded me to do it. The other week my gf and I went off for a holiday and since we left early I decided to wear something 'different' - my black knee length 1" wedge boots, black tights and denim cutoff shorts/hotpants with a plain black t-shirt and black fleece jacket. (I got inspired from Xaphod's decision to wear skirts everyday unless there was a good reason not to) Filling up at the petrol station and going into pay resulted in no response at all from the guy at the till, nor from any of the drivers filling up (it was still quite early so not that many people about). On the way down to Cornwall we stopped off at a designer outlet village outside Southampton about 10am and off we went to go round the shops. A few people I noticed cast a glance but no comments or stares or jaws hitting the pavement. The shop assistants were all very friendly and in two shops there didn't even seem to be a glimmer from them that I was wearing something 'different.' It made a difference having the attitude "I'm going shopping and have things to do" and after a while I forgot what I was wearing (until I looked in a mirror!). My girlfriend raised a good point when I mentioned that no one seemed to shocked or bothered is that "they don't know you or what you normally wear" and "they're only clothes." If I had worn higher heels it might have created a different image that might not have gone down as well (been fun though!). To conclude: I mix wearing male and female clothes regularly but mostly try to put forward the image of 'freestyle' male and wearing what I like! After living in London I've seen far stranger!! I do have a picture of the outfit but I have to find it and will post it as well as some others. Hope this inspires others and I will be out pushing the barriers again soon! Nik

  10. Thats the good thingh about London - everyone is too busy to notice - even when my girlfriend and I went out to the theatre in London one evening and I wore my pointy boots, nobody really looked or cared, even when on the busy train and we were both standing up! Its probably down to co-ordinating what you wear so it looks 'good' Glad to see you around too Daz Nik

  11. Hi all Not posted for a while and thought I would share this with you: I went out to London to the theatre last firday night with my girlfriend and we both wore black 4 inch pointy boots - her in a very nice dress and me with bootcut jeans. In the entire evening I must have had only three or four glances at my choice of footwear, and I had about 3/4 to 1 inch of heel showing. And pointy toes. No one said anything. I think most people were looking ar her rather than me though!! Hope everyone is well and I will try to check back soon! Nikki

  12. The first time I went out in heels was in my late teens - nowhere strange just round a bit of the block in low chunky heel ankle boots, oh and a skirt! Very nerve wracking the first time at 3am. But in complete contrast to the other week when I wore 4 inch pointy boots from Waterloo East to Waterloo Main, wandered about waiting for my train for half an hour and then down the platform and onto the train. It was a busy saturday morning and no-one noticed apart from one guy - who noticed the noise of my heels but just glanced down as I walked past and that was it! Nik

  13. I agree with the last few posts: look at the fiasco when a large GM producer tried to force the EU to accept its cheap genetically modified produce. The EU refused, were taken to court and forced to sell it - but couldn't as there was absolutely no market for it as no-one wanted it. OK thats a slightly different can of worms but look at the other microsoft monopoly trials going on the European Court - stifling competetion will end up with a severe financial penalty, but that whopping one they imposed on Microsoft was scarecly a dent in their profits. This (as with most new/emerging technologies) has the potential to be very useful such as combatting piracy, but can also be misused. It is a case of technological responsibility - checks and balances and open consultation with interested/concerned parties and not just forcing it on the market.

  14. You can get dirt cheap flights between the UK and Ibiza on one of the low cost carriers, and some flights between the US and here are pretty low too. It's worthwhile checking out and making some definate plans to give yourself something positive to focus on. As a starter to help yourself, change your signature line to something positive, even something like "I'm going to get out there and see the world - starting with Ibiza!" Let us know how you get on. Nik

  15. I was stuck in a rut for some time too when I finished university three years ago - but I decided to take a chance and took a very different job in Scotland for a year (completely the opposite end of the UK to where I live!). It was really good to go somewhere completely different and do something completely different. I made a lot of friends and it taught me a lot about self reliance and confidence. I'd never had a serious girlfriend till then either. Like GeneBujold said in his earlier post, do something new or travel a bit to somewhere new... it certainly helped me get out of a gloomy period, and met some interesting people on the way. Nik

  16. Just thought I would add a bit to this thread: I bought two very nice pairs of leather trousers for my gf and I from a shop in Los Angeles when I was out there a couple years ago. Bargainous got both for about 100 dollars as they had a crazy 80% discount! And yes they go well with heels - just got a digital camera so will post some pics soon.
