  1. So the sole has been made in two colours? This means that if you remove the black you will be left with whatever the colour the sole is actually made with. This almost certainly will not be red and possibly won't be black.

No. The sole is red-colored originally. And it was painted over with black.

    I have another question:

Now one of the heels loosed itself. How do I remove the inner sole best to tigthen the heel again?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello there I have a little problem: I have a shoe which sole is colored both red and black. Red was the original color. Black had been painted over it partially. So, is there any way to remove the black color? Maybe with highly concentrated alcohol or nail polish remover? Thanks in advance!

  3. I am confused LP, are they good or not? By your post you say that they are excellent and then you say you were disappointed and then you say they were great?

By my post above I never said they (Estres Modes) were excellent/great. Well, we had a few issues with our product so we wouldn't rather leave a positive feedback. When you have got more questions feel free to ask. I'd say, the craftmanship is quite good and they'd fullfill special wishes, but that's it.

I talked about 'Marziali Shoes' being excellent/great. I extra marked that part with a little dash ('-----').

  4. for all who are missing Leatherworks: try 'estress modes'. they're from spain and offer similar styles, big sizes and made to measure

we once owned a pair of knee boots, but immediately re-sold it at Ebay, because we weren't satisfied at all:

    - the boots looked different to the product image. after our claim they fixed it

    - the heel was higher (15,8cm) than they stated (14,5cm) on their website

    - the lining isn't made of leather

    - the leather itself isn't very soft

    - the boots respective the leg is made for thicker legs

    -----

with this post i also would like to tell that we gave Mr. Marziali a chance after we thought almost two years about it. it seems that he is 'back in business'. he replies immediately to mails and fullfills every special wish. the boots we ordered arrived after five weeks and they were made as we ordered. just perfect in our opinion. of course it isn't Leatherworks' style, but for those who look for classic styles we'd recommend to contact him.

  5. Thanks for your contributions. Well, there are a few Italian sellers @ Ebay. At least three and I bought some shoes of them. They're all located in Italy at the same factory. That isn't a real problem, Just wanted to clarify that the shoes and boots are of very good quality and made by Italian shoemakers. But maybe you can help me with that 'other sellers'. I haven't recognized them so far.

  6. Hi - I have heard back from them, really quick reply which is always good!

I asked, based on a size 44 boot:

    1) is the inside / lining of the boots made from leather or man made material?

The shoe part has pig leather lining. The boot leg end has goat

leather lining. The middle part is not lined.

    2) what is the height of the heel on the size 44 boot

    12.5cm

    3) what is the height of the boot shaft - from the top of the heel to the top of the boots.

    74cm

So, I love the shaft height - they are pretty much crotch high!

But, I wish they were fully leather linned!!

    What to do........

    Thanks for sharing the info.

Did you buy one pair meanwhile?

I'm in contact with them, too, concerning some changes to the same model, but they haven't replied in a while now.

  7. Just to inform you that we removed all items we received from Fab Fetish from the UK. You can read between the lines what this means.

Hi there, please clear your inbox. I cannot message you :-)

  8. Hi. I talked to La Piazza and their shoes and boots do come from Leatherworks London. They are working together since 15 years. At this time they do not have anything in stock. Their products are very expensive, too. The difference to Leatherworks' prices is 70-90 GBP. I think I am going to buy that boot by Icone in white leather and color it. We will see. Again thank you very much for your help.

  9. Hi.

La Piazza is not new to me as well.

I think their shoes are quite similar to Leatherworks'.

Also expensive, but there is a sale (20% off) at the moment. I will think about it. Thank you for that.

With regard to that link you provided, which level of quality do shoes by Buffalo have ?

  10. Hi.

Thanks for the replies. Excuse me for the delay of my response.

IBL70, where did you buy that boot?

I know 'iconeshoes.it', but there is only the white one (knee version) available. Therefore I asked in another thread if it is possible to color them without any loss of the quality of the leather.

    http://www.hhplace.org/shoe_repair_modifications/17820-color_leather_boot.html

Webhawk, thank you for the links, but the Ebay shops (1969, Primafila, etc.) are not my price range. The Gio Hel ones are interesting tho.

    Thanks again.

  11. hi. thanks your your replies. i think i won't do it by myself. the boots are quite expensive originally. the price has dropped now and i'm thinking of buying a pair. they are of white matt leather and i would like them in black. i'm just afraid that the leather might be damaged, i.e. losing softness, you know.

  12. hi all, does anyone have experiences or tips with regard to coloring a leather boot? i found a white leather boot (brand: icone) on the internet. the black one is not available anymore. so i thought to color it. it should be black. but i am wondering if there exists any risk to damage the leather. in the next days i am going to ask a shoemaker or a tanner, but i would like to hear your opinions as well. thanks alot.

  13. Dear community,

we are searching for a classic knee boot, black leather, high heel, long toe, no applications. We already checked Ebay and the manufacturers' websites.

Can anyone provide a hint or a website ? Maybe a thread here ? I do not know, it seems there does not exist a search function on this website.

Some time ago I found some good pictures on the web, but it seems they had been deleted.

    I only can provide this:

    Thanks a lot.

  14. If they are not made to order they would take the boots back for sure and send you the next size. But you still have to pay the postage so you better avoid that. I assure you that if you are wearing a size 42EU in flat shoes a size 9UK Leatherworks high heel boot will fit.

You should not try to compare your fit in Rimba boots with the possible fit in Leatherworks boots.

do you mean made to measure? i just would go to their online store and pick our favorite one. no special order.

we think we will order a cheaper pair first, before buying the thigh boot.

    thanks for your help though.

  15. hey, thank you for all the helpful replies. well, i mentioned that we own a pair of thigh boots manufactured by rimba (located in the netherlands). i guess you do not know that company in order to help me comparing the sizes (?) i too mentioned that we have so much trouble to compare UK and EU sizes. here UK9 is EU42 and there it is EU43, you know. the rimba boot, UK9, does not fit perfect. we think it is one size too big/great (i do not get the word), because you are sliding within it, but you can wear it though. so, we thought of an UK8. you say now that leatherworks sizes run small. therefore UK9 could fit. if not you can exchange it. am i right? their returns policy says you do get the opportunity to exchange the product. do they make another pair for free then? i really cannot believe that. thanks again, mike
