  1. LOL Funny you should say that. I thought the same thing about Crocs, till I tried on a pair, I was sold, I own a black pair and I'm debating on getting red and yellow pairs as well. If you check out their site you'll see they have alot of different styles. They maybe ugly, but you can't deny the comfort. Persoally I think they do look good with a nice pair of jeans. I plan on getting a pair of the boots they have as well, "Georgie" is the name on them, and the most popular style is "Beach." www.crocs.ca

Well, I suppose they might look okay on a guy, like the Uggs. But on women....

  2. I saw a guy wearing Uggs the other day. I think they look terrible on women, but he looked okay in them. They were sand coloured and he had his jeans tucked into them. As an aside, the worst looking footwear on women, the Ugg, has now been replaced by...I don't know the name...but they are those brightly coloured, plastic, chunky clog with the back strap things that are becoming popular. In my opinion, anyway.

  3. Nick Lachey used to wear her shoes.

"Newly solo Nick Lachey divulges many revelations in an upcoming interview with Elle magazine about his marriage to Jessica Simpson including a steamy look into the couple's bedroom. The former 98 Degrees singer said that he would put on his ex's shoes and walk around in them. "It was sort of a kinky thing we liked to get into," Lachey told the magazine, reports PEOPLE.com."

  4. We had our office Christmas lunch today, at a restaurant near the office. Not everybody could come, but there were eight of us...seven women and myself. So it was inevitable that someone would start talking about shoes. I didn't say much...just a few 'must be hard to walk in all day' kind of things. After lunch, me and three of them went back to the office (boss, receptionsist, copy room person). Since heels were still fresh in their minds, I joked with a couple of them that maybe I should get some, to make me taller (I'm 5'5"). Then I went to the lunch room. I had seen a pair that one girl leaves there, black suede with a 3 or 4 inch block heel, kind of a rounded toe, so I put them on (they were 9 1/2 or 10...I'm a 9), went back to where the others were. The boss, at her desk, didn't notice. Also, the copy person, even though I'm 3 or 4 inches shorter than her but now our eyes were level with each other, didn't notice. My pants didn't hide them much, most of the heel was visible, but I had black pants, black socks, and the shoes were black. Then, the receptionist, at her desk, which is farther away, noticed, and said 'OMG, Terry' and started to laugh. I showed them the shoes, lifting up my pant leg a bit, then walked around a bit. They laughed, looked interested. I said I could probably wear a pair some day and bet that none of the clients would notice, since they hadn't. The copy person said wedge heels are more comfortable. I left them on for a while, while we talked, then took them off. Later I went to the copy room...I knew the copy person had a pair there...so, I picked one up and said 'here's those wedge heels that I need' and she said 'don't stretch my shoes' but they were size 9 so knew they would fit, so I just said that I have small feet for a guy, and pretended to gently try them on. I said look, they are just my size, so put the other one on and walked around. They had about a 3 inch wedge heel, were black leather, with a rounded toe. She said probably no one would notice. I don't think I ever would wear any at the office....most of our clients are rather conservative, so you don't want anybody upset. But it was a fun afternoon.

  5. I've never had a bad reaction. Usually the contrary. I don't shop in conservative-looking stores though. The sales people usually know you are buying for yourself. About the best was when I bought some boots similar to the picture, running shoe style with round toe, but with a slightly thicker heel than pictured below. I asked if they had a 9 (US womens 9) a common size, but the salesgirl asked if they were for me. The boots were already on sale, something like half price, but when I went to the checkout, the manager or owner (I think he saw me trying them on) said he was giving me another 10 percent off!

  6. Jeff...that's pretty specific...inevitable stares, double takes, hoots, giggles, chuckles, snide remarks and whatnot...is that from direct experience; has that happened to you? Bubba...I guess they are going to look girly no matter what, but I found today somethings I think I would wear, depending on the weather. One is a black blazer with light pink pinstripes (found in the menswear section!) that I could use with maybe an all black shirt, or if the weather is warmer, a black shirt, mostly black with small pink and small red rectangles. Either way, this is something I would save for spring time. No snow or slush for those shoes.

  7. Yeah, I think the black would be a little ho-hum and rather unremarkable. There's just something about the pink ones. If I get them and they look to girly, I'll just go to the area of town that's gay/alternative. Either that, or I'll be posting in the "shoes you don't dare wear outside" section. :) BTW, I welcome any negative comments as well. If you think I'm crazy, let me know...I might need a reality check. I have a feeling I'm going to get them. Sometimes you see a pair, and no matter how hard you try to talk yourself out of it (because i.e. you already have too many pairs), you just know that you are going to end up buying them.

  8. I've seen guys wearing pink shirts...that seems acceptable. Pink shoes might be pushing the envelope. Maybe they would be okay with the right clothing. I guess I've been inspired by the guy in the black and pink pumps on Fashion Spot. I wear heels in public, not only as a fashion thing, but also to promote the cause, so to speak. If guy sees me in heels that are black (less femme as Bubba says) and they think that it is interesting or cool, maybe they will try a pair. But if people see pink heels and view it as silly or ridiculous looking on a guy, then it might turn them off the idea. I don't know. Bad news, SQ, they only go up to 11.

  9. I really like these and want to buy them. They also come in black, but I really like this colour. Apart from my tan colour J Lo boots, I've only worn black before. These would be...well, noticeable. What do you think? Is the world ready to see a guy in these, or should I get the black?

  10. You can't wear anything nice. At least not with the weather around here sometimes. You get snow, then it warms up and you've got slush. Or they spread salt around (for those of you in less snowy areas, they put a very coarse, non-edible salt down to melt the snow) and it ruins your shoes or boots. The only good about it is that those Ugg(ly) boots, made of suede and not very waterproof, will get ruined quickly and we'll be rid of having to see people wearing them.

  11. Okay...one last post. An update. I wore the boots again this afternoon to a large shopping mall (Yorkdale). Again a lot of people noticing. Some seemed quite curious rather than shocked or surprised. A pair of black girls in their 20s seemed to find it rather amusing. I wonder if it's a cultural thing. Maybe it is generalizing, but are men in their culture supposed to be real macho? It looks like they always portray themselves in the music videos that way. On the other hand, an oriental girl, also in her 20s, couldn't keep her eyes off me. She watched me all the time I walked by where she was sitting. A lot of oriental guys dress or look a bit feminine, and that seems acceptable in their culture.

  12. I forgot to mention, a lot more guys noticed this time. Which is good; maybe it will give ideas to some to wear something a little different. HeelsRus -- that's exactly the area I wore them in. On Yonge Street for a while, then Wellesley and down Church. (For others: Yonge is a busy downtown street and Church has a lot of gay people. So both areas are not suprised to see alternative dress.) I do go other more consevative places, i.e. Eaton Centre, Sherway Gardens (both large shopping malls) wearing, for example, 4 inch blade heel boots. One of these days I will take a pic of the boots I wore to Sherway. They had a one inch platform and a five inch block heel about an inch wide. Those got a lot of stares.

  13. Yes, I was a bit nervous about wearing them. It was a bit of a step (pun intended) for me to wear them. Black shoes, even stilettos, don't seem to be as noticeable. The colour made them more obvious. Even with more people looking at them, there were no rude stares or comments. People just glanced at them and went on their way. Maybe the style, work boots, i.e. masculine, had something to do with it. I wore them with the black jeans in the pic, and as it was a bit cold, a black leather jacket. I wore them in a fairly busy section of downtown during the afternoon for about an hour or so.

  14. I wore these boots today.

A lot more people noticed these...although I have worn high heels, block and stiletto, they were always black. For example:

    http://www.hhplace.org/hhboard/viewtopic.php?p=65325&highlight=#65325

A lot of people looked down, and then back up (to make sure it really was a guy, maybe).

Usually I get a few smiles, a few giggles, but not this time. I wore them, as in the photo, with enough showing to give it a work boot look.

  15. I started out wearing 2, 3, 4 inch block heels, and recently I have been wearing shoes and boots with a narrow or stiletto 4 inch heel (you may have seen previously posted pics) ... but they were always black.

Some people noticed, but a lot didn't. I think these would stand out more. I'd wear them as in the pic with some laces showing to give them that work boot look, but I don't know if I'm ready for that much attention.

I like them because they have a bit of a masculine look...work boots. They were on sale; I only paid about 6 or 7 dollars U.S. for them.
