  1. I have never done anything outside the house in high heels because I'm too scared of what others would think. Also, I only have 1 pair of heels that are mine. My mom currently has them hidden (possibly in the trash) when she found them one day along with other supplies of mine, including a $60 epilator and a pair of flats! She doesn't want me doing any of this stuff, but I like it and feel there is nothing wrong with it. I just wish stuff like this wasn't so taboo. I shouldn't have let her take my stuff. All of that was easily in the +$100 range and for me, a college student, that is not cheap. :) Also, I like wearing high heels because they make me feel good; they make me feel sexy. Also, besides heels, I like to have my my toenails painted red, and I have soft feminine feet if I dont say so myself. :) A few things that bug me are that my feet are large (size 13 Womens, US), and that I have flat feet. I am 6' 3.75" however so given my height, my feet are probably a bit lower than average for my height. I like that my feet are narrow although I really wish I was a size 10 or maybe an 11. I noticed that if I try to create a fake arch, i can reduce my shoe size by 1 but that is obviously not practical since I will not be able to keep such a position when wearing heels or shoes, etc. I am pretty certain that if I had an arch, I would be a Woman's size 12. :silly:

  2. So for some of you, early life experiences were what drew you to high heels. But for others, what was the case with you? Did you try on heels on your own accord, someone else's, tried them on later in your life, etc etc?

  3. So far I have only bought two pairs of female shoes. 1 pair of flats (by American Eagle), and a pair of 4" black sandals (.5" base) by Delicious.

The first pair I bought (the 4" black sandals) were on sale for $20 (regular is $35). I didn't try this pair on in the store just because I was so nervous with it being my first shopping experience. Furthermore, I didn't have an excuse like my next example. What was dissapointing about this buy was that they were woman's size 11 (US) instead of 13's.

The second pair I bought (the AE flats) (link below) I had a bit more leeway with. Halloween was approaching and I had decided to crossdress as the girl from the grudge for my school's "haunted tour". So I went around various stores buying many items. The hardest item to find was the shoes!!! I ended up going to a payless store with 6 print outs of many styles of flats i was looking for. There was one pair that worked for me (the glimmer shoes). So I traveled all the way into the middle of Chicago, Illinois to get a pair inside a large Payless store. When inside, i asked them that i was looking for the pair and they had somewhat of an odd look to themselves. As soon as i told them the reason (the tour), they eased off and laughed.

  4. I think the pole is a bit skewed and poorly made. For example, "With the right outfit" and "yes, they can wear them" are too closely related. I think a second question would have been better as well as a rewarding of the first question. For example: Question 1: Should men wear pink high heels? -Yes! -I'm not thrilled with the idea. -No! Question 2: If so, in what way? -Any way! -Only with the right outfit. -Only for the home. -Only in bed. -No to #1.

  5. I'm wondering if early life experiences such as trying on your mom's high heels when you were younger helped or drew you to wear high heels (plus other things). Since we are such a small group of people who like specific things that are most certainly not normal for most of society, taboo, or whatever you wanna call it, I figure that I would try and find out why our likes for these items came to be. I feel that for many of us, these likes started at a young age. I for one am one of those early ones. I remember when I was a little child (around 7) that I really liked watching in fascination all of the girls and women wearing high heels. I always wondered what it felt like to walk in them. One day I got a chance to try on my mom's high heel sandals only to find out that they were clearly too big for me. I was probably a size 4 or 5 US Woman's when I was 7 while my mom was a size 9. So I didn't get much of the real thing. I still liked watching the girls wearing their pretty high heels and always wanted in on the action. Of course, I was well aware of the public stigma even when I was 7 so I never confronted anyone about it. The years passed and every now and then I would sneak into my mom's bedroom when she wasn't home and I would try on a pair of her heels. By this time, I was starting to have large feet and growing relatively tall. I went through a large growth spurt around 12 or 13 where my shoe size grew from a men's 9 to a men's 11 (12 in womans). From that point on, I knew that my foot would never go into mom's close toed boots ever again. However, since my foot was relatively narrow (and still is today), I was still able to fit relatively easily into my mom's high heel sandals that had sling back straps often with a tight fight. Finally, at age 18, I acquired a job and a car, allowing me to go to stores on my own and buy what I wished. So from a young age, I had always been fascinated with high heels and have liked them. They made me feel more elegant and feminine. Sometimes I feel like a man and sometimes I feel like a girl. Depending on how I feel determines what I like. I guess this all has to do with how both women and men have a testosterone and estrogen in them, with varying degrees of masculinity and femininity showing at various times. Thoughts? Opinions? Your own stories?

  6. Why do i wear heels. I have no idea why it started. But they are just beautiful!! I love the way they look by themselves. I love the way the look worn by a women. I love the way they look on my feet. And in some strange way it can really calm me down when i sit down relaxing while wearing a pair of heels. And i'm a woman when it comes to shoes. :) I've read quite a few shoe topics on girl forums and i feel exactly like them when it comes to shoes.

I couldn't agree more. :silly: I am also a shoe love and am very picky in the men's section since so many styles of shoes are ugly. I always want to just browse in the women's section for shoes but when i'm a woman's size 13 US, its a bit hard. :)
