  1. Anyone else? It is tomorrow! I am still debating which pair to wear. I have a pedicure booked in the afternoon, so I should be all cleaned up and shiny!

    Who will be joining us?

Vancouver Heel/Boot Meet for this Friday (April 9/2010)

The meet starts at the Sandman Hotel/Moxie's Restaurant on Davie St at 7pm for dinner/drinks/conversation. Will try and secure a table in the front section by the windows; will also let the Hostess who seats us know to ask for the "Heel/Boot Meet Group" if you don't spot us.

Oasis Lounge, one block away (Davie & Thurlow 2nd floor) at 10pm.

If you want to attend and need a place to change, I will have a room at the Sandman Hotel where you can change, will be there from 6pm on.

Let us know if you will be attending as we will secure a table for that number on Friday night.

    So far confirmed:

  2. Jennifer is one of those natural beauties. And shoe has a great shoe collection! Thanks

Without doubt, the best Jannifer Aniston clip ever - have tried for years to get proper caps but man, she knows how to wear a proper pair of heels.

You only get glimpses fo the beautful black pump (closed toe of course!) but when you do, it is enough to make you go wild.

    Enjoy.

  3. I can do stairs in 4" heels, but I will at least keep my hand in contact with the railing. No need to take chances, as I likely could fall down stairs in my stocking feet! It is interesting that at first, I would catch the trailing foot heel on the edge of the stair. Now I guess I just make sure to pick that foot up a bit, and it doesn't happen.

I am the same. I have a hand close to the railing for safety. But once I cross that 4 inch height, I am feel my grip tightening. Just need more practice in the 4.5 and 5 inchers.

  4. It was a lot of fun, no real comments. My only wish is that they were a bit more of a subtle color than a purple snake print. Been heeling around town in those shoes a few times since then with no 'real' reactions. When I wear the clicky-clicky ones, I do get a few more looks.

  5. I had to fly to Las Vegas last week, so I thought it was a good chance to get some heeling in. I packed all flats, and put on my heels. My trip was going to be the shuttle bus from home, to the airport, passing thru customs/immigration, then fly to Vegas. I put on a pair of Fergie (Jonas) purple sandals, and proceeded to walk out my door. Two blocks later, I was waiting for the shuttle bus, boarded that with no incident. We had to stop at the US border for clearance, got off, cleared the authorities there, then off to the airport. Had to take them off going thru TSA, then climbed back on board, and onto my plane. I had an aisle seat, so I know a few people might have noticed. after landing, I had to change in a washroom, as the friend who was picking me up is very conservative. All went fine, I think a few people might have noticed, but no comments were made. I caught a few kids trying to sneak a peak. I chose the Fergies, as they don't make a real loud heeling sound, but still a noticeable noise. Gotta do it again next flight.

  6. As A Scotsman living in Scotland, I am regularly wearing a kilt and I find that chunky heels up to 4" look great, also thigh boots that come under the kilt look good. Stilettos dont work so well unless you want to start a conversation!

I wear a Utilikilt most day and have several pairs of womens shoes I use. Most have chunky low heels. But I do have a few pairs of higher ones I wear when wearing pants. Heels and kilts could attract the wrong attention in my mind.

  7. I'm actually thinking of taking a swing at this very issue soon, although instead of welding steel I'm leaning towards milling some sandals out of billet aluminum (CNC milling ftw) and using some nylon coated cables for straps.

If I go this route, is anyone interested in a pair? Computer assisted milling has the obvious benefit of easy, precise reproduction and it might be nice to offset some of the cost :winkiss:

Sounds interesting. Definitely interested in a pair, but it would come down to the look and the price. Once the sole is done, it would not be hard to customize the upper, either the cables as suggested, or leather.

  8. However, I am uncertain how to wear them, as i am somewhat self concious of my own toes (i dont think they are the prettiest things in the world), and i dont know that "I" would paint them just for the shoes.

i guess what i'm asking, is how do you wear these type of sandals?

For a start, go get a Pedicure. You don't have to get any color put on, but get your feet pampered. They will look better in any shoes.

I wear heeled sandals for part of the year. No comments yet. I try to keep my toes looking groomed and neat.
