  1. now have both tragus done as well

even though this post is a bit overdue and outdated......i now have 5 in each lobe.......plus ive added 2 more in my tongue (off center next to my original)

considering getting additional lobe piercings.......eyebrow.....or finally getting my lip pierced

  2. i have 2 gold chains i hardly ever take off one is a thick rope.....and the other is nothing special.....just a small rope chain i bought with a 49ers helmet charm i also have 2 gold bracelets i typically alternate......as i have my watch on my other wrist they are a gold figaro and a gold cuban link bracelet i think gold looks great

  3. Ouch, that's a bit sharp!

dont take it that way......im not trying to be a dick or anything......just asking you the same thing i would anybody else.....and the same question ive asked myself at times

In general I agree with you, but there are times, especially with the nearest and dearest, that you have to compromise otherwise the atmosphere gets too uncomfortable. I get away with most things, so I can't complain.

but compromise is a 2 way street

if you like something and the wife doesnt......you not doing it because she doesnt like it......isnt compromise

an example........your wife doesnt like you playing poker with your buddies 3 nights a week......but she knows its something you enjoy........so she compromises by saying she has a problem with you playing 3 nights a week......but not 1 night a week

what type of things do you "get away with?" and more importantly how does the wife feel about them?

As I have said previously, I will just have to take it a step at a time and this weekend I had one of those steps. I had bought myself some new colours and painted a couple of fingers to check the colour and ended up wearing it all weekend.

and what did your wife say about that?

if she said nothing.......its obviously not as big of a deal to her as you think

is she said she didnt like it......but you still did it anyway......that goes back to my original point about doing whatever you wanna do to make yourself happy

if she liked it......or even indrectly hinted at that......you win

take all of this with a grain of salt........im not trying to beat you up here at all.......so please dont take any of this the wrong way........but im just trying to express a point ive been trying to get across to guys about things like this for years now

  4. Hi scott_f,

I don't know why she doesn't like it, but I have worn some clear polish and it was very quickly spotted. I got the clear impression it wasn't approved!

Maybe she feels it's a step too far.

I'm not going to push it again just yet, but may try later with some more clear and take it from there. I have found the slowly slowly approach works best in these situations, and let the idea grow slowly and gain acceptance.

    H.

    wasnt approved?

are you living for yourself or to please other people?

there are plenty of people who probably dont "approve" of what i am doing or have done.......but that doesnt matter to me at all

  5. I wear polish on my toes most of the time, red, gold, purple, green. Going for some cobalt blue next, if I can find the right colour.

Nobody has ever mentioned or even seemed to have noticed that I wear polish when I go outside. I must admit that I don't wear heels outside but just a pair of men's sandals whenever possible, much to the OH's annoyance. She certainly wouldn't allow finger nails to be painted but she's ok-ish with toes, so I'm fairly lucky.

    why is that?

have you ever even talked about it?

go out one day and get them done.......dont tell her about it......then see what she says

im willing to bet she may not be a fan at first.......but over a weekend will probably come to like them

The rest of the family just roll their eyes and ask what's this weeks colour.

thats because they are jealous of the fact you arent afraid to try something considered a bit "taboo" and can pull it off
  6. Thank you hhboots. I am sporting the french/white tips style at the moment as our office lets us wear sandals during the summer so I go with a conservative look to avoid any problems with the job. I wonder how many wear colors to their workplace without trouble?

i do......but i also own my own business......so im not sure that really counts......lol
  7. I didn't used to pay much attention to toe rings in years past, but in the last couple of years they have really grown on me. I love them on women, and I wear some silver toerings myself now, too.
  8. scottf,

When I took a second look at this I realized, "there's someone else who has done this improvisation like me". I don't have an ankle bracelet but have used a herring-bone gold-tone necklace wrapped twice around the ankle. It sits perfectly on the ankle and nicely accents your feet whether you're wearing pumps or high wedges. It doesn't work with some shoes however like extended gladiator wedges which go higher up he ankle than normal shoes. What I have not done is worn an ankle chain AND a toe ring at the same time. Maybe a new frontier?

    HappyinHeels

    new frontier?

    for you possibly........lol

during the summer i frequently wear wear ankle bracelets anyway....at least when wearing shorts........but i also wear silver ankle bracelets with a silver toe ring or two when im wearing flip flops........most often at the beach or by the pool

if im not wearing flip flips and dont plan to be barefoot.....i usually keep the toe rings at home........i just dont really see the point in wearing them when they cant be seen.....lol

  9. ??? Isn't an ankle chain the same thing as an ankle bracelet, Scott?

Or are you distinguishing between something with links (a chain) and a solid band (bracelet) - although I have never seen the latter worn on an ankle (other than in certain ethnic situations)?

when i was talking about "chains" i actually was talking about ankles being chaied with something like a 9 or 12 inch chain

    not an actual bracelet

  10. There's nothing quite like treating yourself to a nice pedicure before a night out. I just got mine done, and I'm quite addicted to a very glittery pink by OPI called Teenage Dream.

    awesome color

    i love it

  11. I've worn a toe-ring for several years now and find a properly sized full ring to be very comfortable. Previously I found the clasp type not to be so. I also have bought a couple of ankle chains but not worn these in public yet - maybe when i go on holiday.

i dont do the ankle chains thing........but i do wear gold or silver ankle bracelets from time to time......especially during the summer
  12. I'm actually giving some thought to going to a salon for a French pedicure. Years ago I walked in and just got a basic pedicure with clear polish. I have no idea what the lady was saying in Spanish to the other girls, but she didn't seem to mind that a guy was getting a pedicure. She even jokingly asked if I wanted the pink polish.

    go for it

also....when they ask if you want pink polish

either say "yes" or that you "dont care" and they will stop talking about you pretty quickly

  13. my wife actually has 1 pair of gloves.....problem is that she hardly ever wears them nothing would thrill me more than to wear a pear of gloves.........but again......the problem is that mine would have to be open.....and for some reason those dont appeal to me

  14. toe rings are awesome on both guys and girls. my wife bought me one a few years ago. i now routinely wear two during the summer with sandals or flip flips especially by the pool or at the beach
