  1. The way I see it: The advantage of wanting only the best is there's only one of that. :P The amount of money I can afford to spend on one pair depends of how many pairs I want. Last December I threw EUR 240 on my first pair of heels. I probably wont buy more for at least a year. It's money well spent. They're fine quality, thin real leather boots, off-size. Exactly what I had set my mind on. Every time I put them on, I think of them as precious, not expensive. Anything less would leave me dissatisfied. I'd end up buying more and more, spending more money in the end.

  2. I have never ridden a motorbike in heels, but I often ride a mountain bike in 4" heel court shoes. I fact its a very good way of doing some discrete street heeling, if it starts to get too crowded you can quickly and discreetly disappear. :)

Now that's an excellent idea for shyguys!
  3. Hi,

I bought my first pair of heels yesterday. (See this thread.) I've never worn any heels before, but in the shop I found out I had little trouble balanceing in 4" stilettos. Being an experienced speedskater, I'm used to balanceing in high Norwegian skates. But the difference is in the stretched ankle.

Does it make sense this is any help? I can't imagine it involves the same muscles, although the skill is the same.

    Similar experiences, anyone?

  4. Well, I've got my own pair now. :)

Sorry, I dont have a pic and I don't think there will be one any time soon.

They are much like these from Leatherworks, but with a 11cm (little over 4") heel.

Soft and thin real leather, matt black. Whew!

Although I'd rather bought a pair of knee highs, but I couldn't find a pair that fit my calves. They cost me a fortune, but I'm happy.

It's money well spent! The beauties are on my bare feet right now and I'm enjoying it like I was a month ago. They're surprisingly easy to walk in, at least about the house. Only the sustained ankle stretching takes practice.

As soon as I've mastered them and I've saved some more money, I'll shop for real knee highs will higher heels.

  5. Sorry guys, but I'm not impressed. hhplace is the domain name, that is why it appears at the top. "high heel meeting place" (including the quotation marks) is a highly specific 4 word phrase. How often do you use this literal phrase apart from the context of this board? Even if not in quotes, Google tries to find these words together and lists the item at the top.

  6. Thanks for the replies. I haven't seen any footwear with UK size marks in that store or any shop in the Netherlands. This guy wore a pair, they were his own. Anyway, it's his size. Maybe it's mine too, or I'm an 8 or an 8½. I agree trying on is always decisive.
