Sorry to butt in on your forum guys, but I've often seen guys browsing and even trying on shoes on our side of the shop. If the shoe fits, wear it I say, but I guess your feet are usually too big I've even bought mens hiking boots from the "other" side, what's the big deal? Men's shoes are too big for me but I can fit size 39 with socks. ~Caz

I haven't got any thigh boots I can't imagine what I'd wear with them. I think the look could be very fetishy and I don't know if I'm brave enough! I've got this thought of those pantomines too, where Dick Whittington or Aladin would wear a tunic type thing which just covered their buttocks and thigh boots. It was a male character and it was always played by a girl with short hair, but the thigh boots usually had really high heels to show it was actually *was* girl or something Anyway, sorry for that digression, it's just an image I can't get rid of...

I feel it's a slight fashion faux-pas to wear socks with court shoes or sandals. Tights look sooo much better in my opinion. I agree with the previous poster that trouser socks are suitable for ankle boots, but I'd be just as likely to wear tights or bare legs. It depends on the boots and the weather.

I remember mine when I was 13 or 14. I was wearing high thicker heels to school so I was used to 3 and 4 inch heels. I argued with my mum if I could wear stilettos for church because a lot of women wore them when they dressed up on Sunday. My mum kept on saying I wasn't old enough but eventually she gave in. I actually borrowed pair of my sisters old ones. They were quite high, about 4 inches. Dad said they were too high and I couldn't walk in them but I showed him I could and he said OK, so long as I wore a longer dress and I was quiet and good. They were a good fit for me and I remember feeling like a real lady in them. Since then I wore stilettos a lot more but not at school. When I started work, they're a shoe I wear quite a lot, but not always 4 inch. 3 or 3.5 inch are fine as well.

I bought some smart black courts last week. They have a pencil slim heel. I like the thinner heels best though I have some blade heels as well. It's a great feeling stepping into a new pair of heels becasues every pair feels a little bit different.

I don't like platforms. They give a heavy look to the shoe. A very small plat is OK if it fits in with the styling.

Mine is courts wirh about a 4 inch slim heel although I wear all kinds of styles, that fits best with a business skirt and jacket.

4 inch heels are fine for me. I can't see the need to go much higher than that. 4 inch says "I am wearing heels" while still being comfortable.
