Both actually but the first thing that I look at is the height of the heel. If they're not high enough then they're just not going to be interesting no matter how good the rest of the shoe looks.

I really can't see why anyone would ask a woman that they don't know really well to wear heels.. If you wanna play dress-up with something do it with a doll and not living persons. I can just speak for myself but I'm not in heels to please anyone else, I'm not a mannequin and I'm not just an object in heels. I've got no problem with guys and girls looking at my heels or complimenting on them, quite the opposite actually, but that's really as far as anyone can go with me.

I get a really awkward feeling whenever I walk on a floor with heels. It doesn't matter if I'm at home or at a mall or something like that. I prefer to walk outside on asphalt, I think it's because then I don't have to worry about making scratches in the floor and the heels get a much better grip than on a slippery polished floor.
