Complete and utter chaotic confusion. I was finally cleaning out the closet in the guest room and found out I had two pairs of the exact same high heels! Virginia, inside the beltway.
-
Not for me. I prefer heels with an enclosed toe box. Strappy sandals and Gladiators, are fine in the summer time. IMHO, I consider open toe boots a fad and about as attractive as Earth shoes.

I actually started another thread on the 18th, titled an article in the Economist with links to the research published in the Journal of Experimental Biology.

Below is a link to an article from the Economist on the long term effect of high heel wear:

and here is the link to the Journal of Experimental Biology article referenced by the Economist:

Basically, wearing heels creates stronger ankles to compensate for shorter tendons. A few minutes of stretching every night maintains flexibility. I thought it was nice of the Economist to note that men also wear heels.

IMHO, I've found Pleaser shoes to run about right across the height of heels. In contrast I've found Ellie heels to be slightly better made, a bit more expensive, but a tighter fit in the same size as Pleaser shoes. Also Hollywood Heels and the Highest Heel seem to run a little larger than Pleaser. At one time I thought all of these brands were being produced in the same Chinese factory.
I would also buy one size up when buying Pleaser shoes. If we're talking cheap shoes you can find online, I prefer Ellie to Pleaser though.

I don't like platform heels. I think of them as being "stripper heels". I am tall as it is and don't like the extra height from the platform. Having said that I own two pairs. I have a pair of white platforms that I bought on sale that I wear on occasion. I am amazed at how comfortable and easy they are to walk in, especially given their height (6 inches). I also have a pair of black platform pumps that I bought by mistake and I hardly ever wear. So far they pretty much spend their time in the closet keeping my sneakers from getting lonely.

Well my gallery pictures have been deleted. I don't know if I violated some "rule" or if this was an accident. I certainly did not receive any email communication that gave me an inkling that this was going to happen.

I'm only about 15 minutes from the DSW warehouse in Tyson's Corner Virginia. Is there anyone else that is local?

I always put lotion my legs before putting on stockings (I use Aveeno and sometimes Aleo) and that may also help.

Luv that outfit! Could you PM me with were you got it all? thanx

Well I would have to know more information to really help, such as: what is your skin color and what color is your leg hair, and how short a skirt will you be wearing? Here are a couple of suggestions that you might try either one at a time or in combination: use a trimmer not to shave your leg hair but to shorten it up and thin it a bit, lighten the leg hairs with peroxide if you are fair skinned, wear bright heavy opaque tights instead of sheers, wear lace patterned tights (I am thinking in black if you have dark hair), or you might be able to get away with wearing something like Peevy tights under your stockings (be careful because Peevy tights can have a bright shimmer). Peevy tights are worn by the waitresses at such fine dining establishments here in the States as Hooters. Prolegs.com and HotlegsUSA.com are two sites that carry brands of heavier pantyhose (not just Peevy).

My BF bought me a conservative pair of 6 inch pumps, it was quite a lift going from 4 inch heels to my first pair of 6 inch heels. He took me out to dinner and I felt obligated to wear his present. It was not as difficult standing as I expected and we did not do a lot of walking. However, after 2 hours my toes were going numb.

It seems that Hollywood Heels had a warehouse fire a while back. I really liked some of their high heels. Any advise on who might still have any inventory? It is so difficult to find the perfect high heel, until then I'll just have to buy them all.
-
Years ago, I had a memorable disaster. I was wearing an older pair of 4 inch sandals and the heel caught between two paving stones on the sidewalk. The ankle strap broke and I tumbled into a trash can. I had torn hose, several scrapes, and my outfit was ruined. I looked quite the sight limping back home barefooted.

I will wear 4 to 5 inch heels around the office, but we do too much sitting. I usually find that after about 2 hours of standing my 6 inch heels start to hurt. I just can't drive in heels and I'm dangerous enough without them that is why a keep a pair of ballet slippers in my car.

I used wear high heels just for myself and that was how I met my current boyfriend. I was using an empty cubicle to change from sneakers to heels in the office. I never wore a heel for than 4 inches until he talked me into it. It seems like the taller the heel I wear the more of a little boy he becomes.
-
Last week I just spent a small fortune at 6 inch heels and I can't wait until I get my new heels.
-
In the summer time, fresh bare legs and sandals to catch as much sun as possible. Hairy legs should never be seen in heels. For more formal occasions and as the weather cools, I shift to darker and thicker leggings.

I just registered as a new member. Although I've been a wearer of high heels for a long time, my BF is entralled by them. From his perspective the higher the better (thankfully neither of us like platforms). I still have high arches and am used to 5 inch heels, in fact I met my BF while changing into them while leaning on a cubicle divider. I have primarily joined the group for advice and shopping tips. I find it difficult to find ultra high heels in a style that I like. Please go easy on me!
