  1. Put another way, if the heel stays the same the angle of the shoe changes: size 4 1/2 45.5 degrees size 5 44.5 size 6 42.2 size 7 39.4 size 8 37.8 size 9 36.2 Roughly its going from 1 in 2 to 1 in 3, enough to be visaully different.

  2. Armed with a calculator and very rusty trig, I've done some stats on shoe size and heels based on some rather enjoyable measuring! To maintain the same angle / arch as 4" heels in a size UK 4 1/2 the heel height would need to be: Size 5 10.2cm Size 6 10.6cm Size 7 11.2cm Size 8 11.6cm Size 9 12.1cm Size 10 12.5cm So for going from size 4 to size 10 you need to add an inch in heel height to have the same proportion, and equally working backwards a 6" on a size 10 shoe would be equivilent to a 5" in size 4 (so I can consider my wife's 5" heels as 6" heels relatively!)

  3. Wow, Seem to have opened an entirely new world of high heel appreciation. Susan, many thanks for you long reply, as you say there are some physical limits (I'd pretty much guessed the same about maximum height) and otherwise it is down to what you are prepared to do and how you want to be. At the moment the highest pair she has is 5" with a tiny platform (1/4" at most), at the moment anyway...... Seems like from a male perspective anyway, the consensus is that I'm quite lucky to have a wife with small feet!

  4. Hi, Have any of you out there got small feet? If so how do you find wearing high heels & what's you limit? My wife has small feet (size 4 UK) and she is finding that about 4" is her wearable limit. I brought her a pair of 4" heeled knee boots (with a little platform) from Schuh for Christmas but she is finding them a bit of a strain, despite wanting to wear them! It seems that the heel height doesn't vary with shoe size so the 4" heels stay the same whatever the shoe size making them quite arched in size 4s! At least means we can go shopping for more boots!

  5. I know the shoes are made in China for Sexy Shoes. And, I also know that they ship to Canada. I don't know if they ship to Europe, though. You might email them and ask if they ship world wide. Their email address is on their website at http://www.sexyshoes.com.

I just took a look at their "Terms and Conditions" page and they mentioned international orders in the context of returning products. Didn't mention if they consider "international" outside of Canada, though. see the "T&Cs" here: http://www.sexyshoe.com/terms.html

Thanks for the suggestion, will you let you know how I get on......

  6. Wow, thanks for all the tips - we have to take my wife out shopping soon! What I would particularly like is some high (4"+) stilletto pumps (maybe with straps / cutout details) in different reds or greens, any ideas?

  7. Have you checked out Missy's site she has a rainbow of heeled shoes?

Mmmmmmm, good selection, link to sexyshoes.com had a good selection of different colours. Thanks for the tip - will need to get saving for the P&P now!

  8. Pierre has been very helpful and a pair of 4" heels are on their way! Not burgundy though, but on reflection burgundy might not quite look as good in B&W photos (my preferred setting). Dr. Shoe, where's info on the increase in burgundy this autumn coming from? Personally can't wait to see the back of camel! (or cameeuull) Don't like it at all, burgundy / dark red is much more sophisticated.

  9. Thanks for the updated URL, I can see what the fuss is about now! Wow, I need to buy some more shoes for my wife me thinks & I want my digi cam back so I can try and take similar pictures! The shiny wooden floorboards add a particularly stylish dimension to the photos, I've tried similar myself (see opposite) but without any floorboards have to resort to my table!
