  1. Amazingly I have never fallen off my 12" heels and that's the truth. I can't believe it either! To be honest though they feel so much higher than anything else I have that I think I am super super super careful on them.

The problem with the 8.5" plats is that I am confident to the point I can skip and jump in them that I probably don't use as much care when wearing them.

I've obviously wobbled and twisted my ankle in normal shoes but not to the point I end up on the ground.

BTW found the posts about my previous accidents:

Roz, are there any pictures of your 12 inch heels on the site?
  2. patent black 9 inch devious 1020 ballet boots. If you dont wear these beauties on a regular basis, they sure let you know you have them on. Sitting good, walking kind of cramping up on me. More bananas maybe lol.

What boots are you wearing in your avatar? I want a pair!
  3. As stated previously, it is comfortable as long as you don't walk to much in them.

(They were OK when I tried them in the store)

The front of the platform does help walking but is too thick for my taste...

Myself, I prefer shoes with a much thinner platform (Easier for long walk)

I guess this type of shoes would look very good on a woman wearing a shorter skirt or a dress :chuckle:

For some reason I missed that you had said they were comfortable. Thanks for the responses.
  4. They do look different from your basic platform pump. I'm curious to see what they would be like to walk in them. I don't know if the front of the platform would help or hinder walking.

I was wondering the same thing.
  5. Greetings UKsensation :-)

Is-it this type of shoes you are asking about ?

I don't know if the opinion from a male heeler counts or not but

I tried a very similar shoes and I don't like the platform, which is to high.

(Even if I like the shoe style a lot...)

While the rounded front helps a lot while walking, it is not a type of shoe I would wear all day long.

But for a special occasion, I guess it would be more than OK.

The ones I tried did look good and was comfortable as long as you don't walk to much in them...:w00t2:

(And since I am a man, it is not the style of shoes I would wear in public anyway ... :chuckle:)

    Have a nice day !

Thanks for your thoughts. I was curious about the front platform, too. It's a little larger than I would prefer. How do you think they fit?
  6. My highest heel without platform is 5.5" which are very old "east of Eden" red lace-up stillettoes with a steel tip. I got them about 20 years ago and have had them re-heeled many times. I love them and they are great fun on ice and wet round topped cobbles.

With platform my highest is an 8inch narrow heel with a 2.5inch platform, also great fun.

But my highest heels are a pair of 3ft chinese peg stilts that I use to perform on which are great fun if a little precarious on certain ground surfaces

    Topsy,

What brand are your "8inch narrow heel with a 2.5inch platform"? I have been looking for something with those specs. (A picture or website would be nice, too!)

    Thanks!

  7. The cheapest online store I have found is www.sexycurveslingerie.com, but it's in the US. They usually have free shipping on more than US$50. It is, however, mostly the usual Pleaser shoes, nothing high-end. www.howcool.com has about the same and will send out 10-20% off coupons if you sign up for their newsletter.
