  1. There was a period when Payless had very little choice in the larger sizes (12's and 13's), there was some opinion that this was due in some way to the recession / credit crunch.

Well it looks like things are looking up, i found 3 styles which i thought were particulary nice and all are in a US13 , i especially love the platform boots unfortunately i don't have the ready cash to buy them at the moment but i'm working on it. The two black pairs look very designer influenced.

Lets hope there are more to come!!!

I'm hoping this trend will continue in the cooler months, when boot sales begin.

  2. What is it with all the platforms these days? Why can't a shoe be high without a stupid platform on it! here is a perfect example. This is a photo of Kim Kardashian from her recent Tonight Show appearance. Now those are some sexy shoes!

I agree, Mr. X. Platforms always seemed like cheating to me. I never really cared for the way they look, as well. Personal preference, of course.

  3. I'm afraid it doesn't matter what Victoria Beckham wears or doesn't wear, she's Victoria Beckham.

    It's a NO from me...

Sorry to be so ungallant, but, hey...

No problem, Swollen. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am by NO MEANS a fan of Victoria Beckham. I was just acknowledging her commitment to high heels.

  4. Though I'm not very fond of the woman, I voted for Beckham. She is ALWAYS wearing the highest heels she can possibly wear. Always. It's hard to believe that she has ever worn flats in her life. It takes a certain amount of commitment to tip around in stilettos ALL of the time.

  5. As I have stated in a few other posts, I walk and feel comfortable in 5" stiletto heels. I can walk in 6" high heels, but I don't walk as quickly as I would like and I'm just not as comfortable in them. Wearing 4" high heels is like wearing an athletic shoe with a wedge. And 3' high heels are like wearing flats.

I would have to agree, Roni. I never really considered heels below 4 inches "high". I started out in 41/2 inch stiletto boots, so I learned the hard way. :) Personal preference, of course.

  6. Steve Madden Gwenn clog boots. They're over the knee (barely), tops can cuff down about 3 inches, leather with real wood soles. The total heel height (partly hidden) is 6 inches and the platform is 1 inch, size 11. They're comfortable, solid feeling to walk in, and will definitely be worn out of the house on occasion.

Last fall they were $299, I got them last week on SmartBargains.com for $80.

I'm usually not a fan of chunky heels OR platforms, but that's a very nice pair of boots. Enjoy.

  7. If you ever saw footage of Prince during his heyday, he was ALWAYS wearing stiletto ankle boots. Nobody really thought anything of it and this was 20 years ago. Now, granted, Prince is a very short guy, and a celebrity, but it's amazing what is still not acceptable in the general public.
