As a matter of interest, which ASOS boots do you have?   And what is your shoe size?

My shoe size varies but normally is 10 (euro 44).

These are the two ASOS boots I have:

The heels on both are a very comfortable 3inch and can wear them all day long with no issues.

  2. Haven't posted on here for a while - interesting conversation so far. Tend to agree with both sides in a way.

Now regarding views expressed by ASOS range my opinion is that at least a mainstream retailer has started to feature men’s heeled boots. This must be positive. There are other outlets but it can be very, very hard to find them and as others said very expensive as its a niche but growing market.

Regarding the types of heels, I hear the views expressed, and there are some which I don't like but I do have a couple of real leather ankle boots which are perfect and very happy with. I've had many comments from both men and women that they like my ASOS boots.  (And especially my leather knee and crotch highs that were custom made as I've got wide feet).

Speaking again personally I like block heels and all my heels are blocks but again there are people here who much prefer a stiletto heel. I'm not promoting or endorsing ASOS here but merely as an individual ASOS did have one single pair of mens stiletto ankle boots https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-heeled-boots-in-black-stretchy-leather/prd/202004069?clr=black&colourWayId=202004084&cid=5774 . I'm not endorsing the product but merely from observations this product has sold well as all the bigger sizes associated with men’s have sold out and the current listing is a restock and again they have almost sold out. ASOS could do better by listing articles better for example men’s knee high comes up with one chunky boot but there is a sole knee high listed under heeled. I do think they should have a unisex section as shoes are shoes.

There is a 'growing' market for heels but as @Shyheels mentioned above the overall market still would be small for men’s heels but atleast it is growing in traction. I do agree that the media will focus on some celebrity and make a mockery but we are laying the foundations for the next generation. Take for example body piercings. I got my nose pierced (and others above the waist) years and years ago when it was hipster for the brave because I really liked it and still wear them today but now far more (younger) men have their noses pierced and nobody says anything adverse as its now considered normal. Heels will take more time to become standard kit for men but I do think they will break through. I love wearing my heels in London and when travelling around other parts of the UK and never got any adverse reaction but only positive comments.

  3. My wife is not much of a boots or high heels person whereas I do tend to live in them. I personally find boots especially with heels very comfortable to wear and I feel great for wearing them. You've got that sense of 'power and attention'. I have quite a few pairs indeed. Knee highs are my regular choice of boots to wear then split between ankle and crotch thigh high. Shoes are rarely worn.

I was accompanying Mrs N to the piercing studio. Whilst Mrs N was preping herself the piercer (Vicki) waved for me to come over. Vicki was so amazed at my crotch thigh high boots that she kept on admiring them and asking questions where I got them and commenting how unusual and mega sexy they looked and on a guy with heels suddenly remembering to sterilisie the equipment.  Vicki said that my boots were distracting her in a positive way. Mrs N was remeasured and marked up. Vicki told her how amazed she was with my whole outfit and enquired whether Mrs N had boots like mine and was shocked to be told no.  Mrs N was then pierced.  Photos were taken of the cheek piercings and of my thigh high boots. Now the question remains ..what to wear when we visit Vicki again for the follow up appointment.

You don't get compliments when you hide them under your jeans. If you are going to spend that much money to get good knee highs then you got to show them off.

Totally agree! Knee high boots and higher should be on full show!

    1) How often do you wear high heels? Most days

    2) What type of heel do you prefer? Block

    3) How high is your average daily heel height? 3.75inch (9cm) for knee high and higher - Ankle boots no higher than 3 inches.

    4) Do you find high heels uncomfortable? No

    5) Do you find high heels difficult to walk in? No

    6) Did you know high heels can be bad for your legs, feet and back? Yes

    8) If yes, what areas cause you problems?

    9) Do you find it difficult or uncomfortable to wear low-heels, flats or go barefoot? Yes especially in summer when reverting to flats. Need to wear boots on a cooler summers day to relieve pain.

    11) Do you get comments (positive or negative) on your high heels? Yes

    12) How often do you get comments? Two or three times a week then nothing for a week or two. In other words frequently.

    14) Do you ever consider giving up wearing high heels? No

    15) What is/are the reason you wear high heels? Just like the look of block heels - not a fan of stilletto or kitten heels personally speaking.

    16) Would you consider giving up high heels if they became too painful? hopefully not.

    17) Do you ever slip your heels off under your desk or when sitting to relieve pressure? No.

    18) Have you ever fallen due to wearing high heels? No.

    19) If you have fallen due to wearing high heels, how often has it happened?

    20) Do you plan on giving up high heels regularly as you get past 60 years old? probably not.

Seeing nice heels out and about in my very ordinary London suburb is rare. I might see 4" stilettos once or twice per year. 2.5" block heels are commonplace. Today I saw something even more unusual. Genuine thigh high boots. Not just OTK but well up the thigh, I couldn't see the tops of them under her coat. No heel, but can't have everything. Somewhat similar to these: https://www.overknee-stiefel.net/product/long-overknee-lady-olga/

She wasn't young or stylishly dressed, though I couldn't see what was under her coat. The boots weren't highly polished. All utterly ordinary except for the boots. Had to look twice to realise that it wasn't leather or the (now very popular) fake leather trousers tucked into ankle boots.

    I know what you mean.

As a guy I do like wearing high boots. I wear my crotch and knee high boots around London and elsewhere. Yes you do get noticed and get many compliments from both women and men as crotch highs are not that common. All my boots have to be custom made.

The boots in the photo are 75 cm (30 inch) tall on the inside rising to 85cm/34inch on the outside. The heels are 9cm (3.75inch high).

Really comfortable to wear these boots all day.

  7. This is my first post in this forum and am still finding my way round.

I've had many boots made by MJ and the photo is one of them. 30 inches tall.

As some have said the fit is not always right and others have found the fit good. In my experience I've found most of MJ boots very tight around the in-step despite giving measurements for a more generous fit. Having said that his boots are usually good and MJ is always helpful. My feet are wide.

    What’s it like wearing?

Well, heads will be turning, I promise you that especially a man wearing them. I've had a lot of compliments from both guys and women. Turning to the real issue of how they fit: Depends on the heel height you choose and if you are outside your comfort zone for heels. Start off with a more practical heel height for you say 4inches. That's what I've got as all my other boots are lower. Walking in them for me is fine for me now after I have walked around in them for a while.

It's really exciting receiving your boots and them pulling them on. It’s a strange experience pulling on such a tall boot for the first time. It got stuck many times. (Tip  - use a small plastic bag like you get in supermarkets in the UK when you select your loose vegetables. That helps). Once pulled on the feeling is amazing and you'll be able to walk in the home ok as you have restricted movement in your home. The leather is quite hard and needs to be broken-in at the knee especially when sitting. It will feel uncomfortable at first but very quickly the leather will mold into your shape.

Going out in them for the first time was great but found walking in them hard after five minutes Maybe that’s because where I live its not flat ground but a steep hill with up and down gradients. I've mastered that now and find walking and sitting in them fine. They certainly keep your legs warm in winter.

I would also say that the boot you are interested in is , well lets say rare, not common. That makes it much more interesting. I think boot wearers should have atleast one thigh high boot in their collection. Go for it.

PS - Never have bee good at taking selfies!
