  1. Does anyone know what brand of heels the Radio City Rockettes wear? They have a small heel, are in my opinion very feminine, and I would love to wear them. I know that they must be very comfortable because of the performances that the girls do while wearing them. Are they custom made? Does anyone know where I can get a pair?

  2. I had always loved wearing women's shoes. When I was about 11 years old, I put on a pair of my mom's open toe wedge sandals (2.5 inch heel) and wore them occasionally around the house. Even though they were a little large, I loved the feeling of walking in them. I was eventually caught, and my mom told me that I could wear them and other shoes except for her best shoes which were off-limits. I started wearing my mom's nylon knee highs with the shoes that she allowed me to wear. Unfortunately, her bright red GoGo boots were off-limits, but when she was not home, I would secretly wear them. I loved the shiny patent red leather and the feel of the boots on my feet and legs made me feel like a queen.

  4. I get pedicures every three weeks and wear fire engine red polish on my toenails. I wear a solid 14k. gold toe ring on the 2nd toe of each foot. Women that I work with also say that I have "girl toes" which I take as a wonderful compliment. The also say that I have "Hooker Red Toes". 😀 I never wear open toe sandals without perfect nail polish and my toe rings.

  5. A lot of women have complimented my pedicure. When they compliment my pedicure, I always ask them about the red color that I usually wear (OPI Big Apple Red). They all seem to love this color and many of them proceed to tell me that if you are going to have painted toenails, they should be "RED". They tell me that red goes with any color sandal and that it is a timeless classic color that can be worn with anything on any occasion. Also many of them tell me that you just can't go wrong with red toenails. All of these women can't be wrong. I have tried other colors in the past, but always go back to red. When I'm having a bad day, it really cheers me up to look down and see ten perfectly pedicured sassy red toenails shining in the sunlight.

Here is an interesting article about red toenail polish that attempts to prove that is is the most popular toenail color.

  6. There is nothing more relaxing than visiting a nail salon for a manicure/pedicure. I go to nail salons at least once per month in my normal feminine male mode (Women's hair style, women's Yoga pants, women's purse, and women's low-heel thong sandals. It is so relaxing to get completely pampered for over an hourly. There are no expectations, you are just one of the girls getting your nails done. The foot massage is heavenly and the nail polish application is perfection.  I feel like a queen when I leave the nail salon with my red toenails glistening in the sunlight. I always wear women's sandals to show off my pedicure and I get a lot of compliments on the choice of color; the most recent compliment from a woman while standing in the Costco checkout line. We compared pedicures and discussed local nail salons. I always wear red polish on my toes because it is classic and is beautiful with my pale skin. Women always tell me that you can never go wrong with bright red toenails.

In addition, in the past few years nail polish of all different colors for males is going more mainstream. I was buying hair color at Sally's Beauty Supply yesterday and the girl working there told me that her father has been getting pedicures for the past two years and always wears colored polish on his toes. Several rappers and Machine Gun Kelly have nail polish lines for guy even though there is no difference between women's nail polish and guys nail polish. It's all in the marketing.

    Get other there and

  7. I love your choice of sandals, however if you really want to improve the look with sandals i suggest a professional pedicure with fire engine red nail polish. You can never go wrong with red toenails and you will get a lot of compliments.

  8. I get a mani/pedi every two weeks in a local nail salon. I wear clear polish on my fingers but my toenails are always polished in a bright fire engine red. One of the girls that I work with jokingly say that I have "hooker red toenails". The pedicure foot massage is very relaxing and is a wonderful experience. I always wear open toe thong sandals that have no possibility of smudging my pretty toes. I also get eyebrow waxing and have become friends with the owner of the salon and some of the nail techs. They treat me just like another girl getting her nails done. It is such a relaxing experience  and I really feel like a queen. After getting my toenails polished I go the nail dryer station and talk with the women drying their nails. The best part is leaving with ten perfectly polished red toenails that are so pretty in my sandals.

  9. Do you ever feel feminine when wearing high heels? Looking down at my 3.5 inch wedge thong sandals and 10 professionally pedicured fire engine red toenails makes me feel feminine. I get a lot of compliments on my sandals and red toenails from women. It is really a good feeling. Most men will never understand what it is like to "feel pretty".

  10. I like the sandals, however if you want to really complete the look with a nice feminine touch, I suggest getting a professional pedicure with bright red nail polish. You can't go wrong with red toenails and you will get a lot of compliments.

  11. I only wear clear polish on my fingernails, but I get a manicure and pedicure every two weeks and my toenails are always polished bright fire engine red. I live in a warm climate so I can wear sandals all year round. Whenever I am not at work, my red toenails are always on display in women's sandals. I get a lot of compliments from women on my sandals and red pedicure.

  12. This article would have been even more interesting if the older son (12 or 13 years old) was into high heels and she was supportive of him wearing them. It is her 2.5 year old son that is into heels. This is considered quite normal for a 2.5 year old and it is normal for the mother to support him, so there is really nothing unusual here.

  13. Like many of you here, I have been wearing women's shoes publically for quite a few years. My friends and relatives and gotten used to seeing me in women's sandals of all types, both heeled and flat. It is just a part of who I am. I don't try to wear styles that have a masculine flare to them like a lot of members here on hhplace. Instead, I wear the sandals that I really like even if they are strappy. I do draw the line at hooker heels or extreme stillettos. I tend per perfer three to 4 inch wedge heels and am able to consistently find them at Payless and Nordstrom Rack. Most of my sandals would be considerd feminine to very feminine with beautiful colors and styles that you would neve find in men's shoes. When people see my sandals, without even seeing the heels, they immediately know that I'm wearing women's sandals because of the feminine style. Also, when they see that I have professionally pedicured fire engine red toenails like a woman, they will know immediately that I have a very strong feminine side and am not afraid to express it. I get compliments from women all of the time on my sandals and my red toenails. It is so wonderfully liberating to be able to express my internal femininity that males have been taught to suppress for many generations. It really makes me feel like a complete person and is so liberating. When people ask me why I wear women's sandals or have red toenails, I tell them that I have a strong feminine side and she needs to express herself. I am wondering how many people here really "own" their feminine side when wearing women's shoes rather than attempting to come up other reasons or to masculinize the fact that they wear women's shoes. After all, women are not afraid to express a masculine side and many women are ecourage to do it. A lot of women wear very masculine shoes like combat boots and other styles. In fact, all men's shoes styles are available for women. Women that express a masculine side are called Tomboys, but unfortunately there is no such work for a male that expresses a feminine side because males are strongly discouraged from doing this. I hope that more and more members of this site will own the fact that they wear feminine shoes and are expressing internal feminity when doing so, and will be honest in interactions with others.

  14. And that sucks for the guys like me that wear their heels/boots under their jeans! Can't wear jeans on a 80 degree (F) day! And that means I can't wear my heels! Unless there's a cool night. Ugh...

Can someone can point out some not-too-feminine looking heels/sandals that I can wear with khaki shorts...size 13?

    Suggestions welcome...

Oh if anyone wants to see, I posted several pics of my boots in my gallery...

Why not change your mode of wearing high heels? What is the point of wearing high heels under pants? One of the purposes of high heels is so that other people can see them. After all, women wear men's shoes all of the time so there is no reason that a man can't wear women's shoes. It is really not a big deal. If you want to wear sandals, payless has a large selection especially online. If you wear sandals in the summer, I suggest a professional pedicure and bright red nail polish on your toenails. I always wear red polish on my toes with 3 inch wedge sandals and get a lot of compliments from women. You should always wear colored polish on your toenails if you wear any type of open toe sandal because it really enhances the look. Why not take a big step and just let everyone see that you wear high heels? If people ask you about the heels, just tell them that you like wearing heels. It is very liberating to wear heels and nail polish just like women do.

  15. Not working in heels doesn't mean that you can't openly wear heels. If you come outside in heels in your free time, during shopping trips or visiting stuff, nobody has the right to take away your privileges.

I think if you're in a postition like a university professor, who is supposed to be a good example to students, wearing heels would seem a totally bad idea at all. It's just not going to work. On the other hand, if you're sitting behind a desk programming or working with data, you have less responsibility for how you present yourself.

Moral: Think about where you want to go in heels, if it would be a good idea. Clever decisions will help you avoid negative confrontations.

Why would wearing heels be a bad example to students? It would teach students that we don't need to be confined to the gender specific boxes that society has created for us. Women wear masculine shoes all of time and it is not a big deal. I believe that we create a lot of these demons in our own minds. I don't see why a university professor couldn't wear heels as long as they are not outrages hooker heels or something equally impractical.

  16. I agree with Jamie - when I was working part of my job was to conduct training classes on some software packages we used. The classes were typically 12 students with myself and a co-instructor. In the wintertime I'd be standing in front of the class wearing either block heeled boots with a 2 or 3" heel, or occasionally my stiletto-heeled boots. In the summertime it was almost always low wedge heeled sandals with my red toenails out there for all to see.

And before anyone says something about academia being more liberal - I was working for a major semiconductor manufacturer in Slilcon Valley; hardly academia!

    Aly,

Whenever I'm not at work I wear women's sandals (all heel heights) and professionally pedicures fire engine red toenails. In your reply you stated that you were wearing wedge sandals and red toenails to work and that you worked for a major semiconductor manufacturer. When wearing your sandals to work and when you were teaching classes, did you ever have any issues with management regarding your footwear/red toenails? Did coworkers or students ask you questions about your footwear/red toenails? What answer did you give them? Wearing feminine sandals and red toenails to work is my next step and I'm wondering what to expect.

  17. I've worn heels on connecting flights, but never originating from home or my destination. I kept running into to many people I knew who, had they seen me in heels, it would have ended my career.

Are you sure that it would end your career? You are not doing anything illegal. It is not like you are smuggling drugs! Many times we blow these possible consequences way our of proporation in our own minds and they have no bearing on reality. Years ago when I first started wearing women's shoes I had the same thoughts that you have. I later learned that they were unfounded.

  18. I sympathise, mlroseplant; my wife dislikes me wearing heels in any situation. Shortly before Christmas, we met in the town to do some food shopping for a party. I wore my avatar boots. My wife noticed them immediately and told me (not for the first time) that she didn't like them and didn't like me to wear them when out with her, especially as 'people will think you are a poof'. I told her that I liked them and found them comfortable, especially given my sciatica etc - and could not see what was so objectionable about a pair of 'cowboy-style boots' with a slight heel. Nothing more was said but I have little doubt that I will get a blast next time she sees me in them.

The interesting thing is that my wife, although somewhat inhibited, has a background in fashion and is sociable, with a wide circle of quite lively female friends (whom I know and like too - several are neighbours). I am doubtful that any of these people or others whom we know would be as negative as she is, even if they thought that I was pushing the envelope a little. And my wife would never conform to my wishes or suggestions about what she should wear, unless she was totally comfortable with them.

There is not much I can do about the situation other than to continue to please myself without getting totally excommunicated. Stiletto2004 is right in theory about 'family first' but one's own peace of mind and happiness needs to be maintained in order to have a fulfilling relationship within a family.

Does your wife wear any clothing or shoes that is not considered feminine? Does she ever hiking boots or shoes that are clearly masculine styles or does she always wear feminine high-heel shoes? If she wears any masculine attire or shoes as many women do today, you can use that as ammunition regarding your wearing of high-heels. Double-standards must be abolished.

As far as I see it, people may think you are gay when you are alone, but if you are walking hand in hand with your wife, they have no idea what to think. Hence it should be easier to go out with her, rather than without her. Works for me.

    Y.

It also doesn't matter if folks think that you are gay. We cannot control what other folks think and it is not our problem.
