  1. I'm kind of new to this board, but I haven't seen a "root" topic in the discussion board like this one: "What have _you_ been doing to help spread the acceptance and availability of your favorite footwear?" I think, in general, people have to take an active role in spreading acceptance. It won't just happen on its own, I don't think. It would be nice to see a continual, small list of things that people have done over time. For example, I just sent a note to customer service at one company to thank them for having sizes up to USA 12 and for making very comfortable footwear. And I told them that I bought 2 pairs and would have bought a third if the inventory was available. Anyway..... thought it would be a good idea.

  2. I used to work in the industry, and I worked directly with some well known groups, particularly 1980s hard rock and heavy metal bands. That's partly where the association with / love of boots comes from, although I did like them before hand. For anonymity's sake I'm not going to say much, but it was a great experience. I like music of all sorts, but I particularly love 1980s hard rock.

  3. I think we brought up several interesting points here. The anonymity of purchasing over the internet is great. On the other hand, you don't really know who you are purchasing from when you buy directly from another individual through ebay...it might be someone who wears footwear from the other gender, or it might just be someone who is liquidating a store's inventory if it is going out of business. So I can understand if someone is reticent to say that he wears the shoes. Also, many times the shoes and boots available in largers sizes are truly ugly, and that is pretty annoying (to me, anyway). There are plenty of much better looking footwear in smaller sizes, but of course, they will not fit. I've written several letters to customer service representatives to tell them that they have great styles and that I would definitely buy multiple pairs, if they had them available in larger sizes. Actually, I'm actually going to do it again sometime this week. More on this subject later. Women wear mens sneakers and hiking boots sometimes. I knew at least 3 women who admitted to buying mens sneakers because they had larger feet, and the styles for men were better than the ones for women at their size. All of these women were straight. Just taller than average.

  4. Only boots. I've worn some to work before. Nobody had a problem with it. In the workplace, people generally wear clothing to fit in, regardless of what it is. I think if you pick out clothes that don't cause too much of a stir, you'll be fine. Mid heels, brown or black color, plainer style, etc.

  5. Hello everyone, I'm brand new to the site. I wear boots quite often, mostly mens western boots, but sometimes a few womens pairs that I own. I've always loved boots as far back as I can remember. I grew up in the 70s and 80s when everyone wore boots, and I've done some work in connection with the music industry, particularly with hard rock bands where it was almost mandatory to wear boots, whether they were mens boots, womens boots, or the new styles back then that were somewhere in between. I'm not really a heels wearer, I'm just someone who has a few pairs of womens boots. I don't really understand why society has a problem with people wearing what they want to wear. And it's too bad that you can have trouble trying to find styles that you like, or sizes that fit. Life is just too short for that. So I'm hoping that we can change some of that, as a group. I don't have a whole lot of spare time, but I've written a few messages here and there to websites and companies that I like to thank them for the styles that I like, or to kindly ask them to increase the sizes that they carry so that I can buy a few pairs. The only way that we change things is by letting companies know that we exist and that we would buy some pairs if they made them available to us. And then we need to go and wear them. At any rate, that's enough for now. Good to "meet" all of you here online! -- Bootsforme

  6. Thanks for the compliments guys,

when I saw Bootopia's avatar the 1st time I desperately wanted a pair of similar boots. I found a tip on a German forum to www.stiefel-laden.de and to my luck they went up to size 43! Within 2 weeks I had them on my feet and they're simply awesome to wear.

Bootopia's Gaborit's must be the ultimate kick to wear but I'm afraid I lack the guts...

Anyway, my Italian Heels are for sale and I've got big plans with the Biondini's. To me they're just to unisex to keep inside the house.

    hello,

I'm just curious, but has anyone else bought these cowboy heeled tall boots from the www.stiefel-laden.de website? I think they look great and I'm just curious as to how they fit and how they feel. I'm definitely ready to buy a pair. Thanks!
