  1. I am a LAK and use a peg with HH. I must admit I prefer crutches, but there are times when I want the use of my hands wearing a peg is great. It also attracts a lot of attention. I usually wear a 4" wedge with the peg, but I can go up to a 6" HH

  2. pata, again I appreciate your comments. I don't consider myself handicapped. I can do most anything on my crutches and I also wear a peg leg. Yes, it is a peg leg. If you think crutches get attention and comments try a peg leg. haha I dress the same now as I did when I had two legs.

  3. I am an attractive woman as you are and if other woman look down on me for the shoe I wear I really don't care. As with you I don't dress as a tramp and wearing a 5 or 6" HH doesn't make me or anyone else a tramp. I don't need their approval. I do agree a true compliment from a woman is very much appreciated. But the dumpy woman that aren't interested in taking care of themselves and looking nice and look down on those of us that take an interest in our appearance I ignore. I agree men often look at the erotic picture and that is OK with me. I dress to please me and at times to attract a man's attention. If that makes me a slut so be it. No, pata your question was not impolite or to direct. I appreciate your comment.

  4. I get a lot of looks and some comments. I wear 5" and 6" heels ,w/o a platform, most of the time. I also only have one leg as my left leg was amputated above the knee. I enjoy the looks from men and really don't care what other woman think. I wore HH before my amputation and see no reason to quit. By the way it is easier crutching in a HH than walking. I may have an advantage. lol

  5. iulia, I think I now understand what you are saying. Even if your built up shoe with a leg brace matched the high heel and you used crutches, your short leg would still dangle and you would not have control. In other words you couldn't control your short leg and swing it through your crutches.

  6. lilia, I am an above the knee amputee and love my HH. I normally wear a 5"HH, but do wear up to 7" with a 1" platform. Do people look at me, yes, but I don't care. The men love to see me crutching in a HH. If you want to wear HH outside, go for it. Franie

  7. Life goes on. You make the best of what you have. I have always loved to wear HH and I see no reason not to continue. If you think guys like HH they really like someone on crutches wearing a HH.

  8. Hi Barbara, Iit is much easier to crutch wearing a HH than walking in HH. I wore HH before I was an amputee so I have experience both ways. I normally wear a 5" heel, but I do have a Femme 12 which has an 8" heel. That is for special occasions only.

  9. I have not posted in a long time. I am a recent leg amputee that loves to wear a HH. I have found the height of the heel has very little effect on my ability to crutch and I do get a lot of attention from the opposite sex. Am I the only amputee here.

  10. Beth, are you enjoying the adventure in HH. If so look for more excitement. If you aren't enjoying it will be a long winter unless you have a heart to heart with your hubby. I would trade places. lol

  11. Hello Saski, what is happening is normal. It will take a while for ligaments and tendons to adapt to the new heel height. You can wear the 5" heels when you are out and when you are home wear the higher heels all the time. This should speed up the process of wearing the higher heels comfortably. If you want to be permanently high heeled you may want to wear the higher heel to bed also. I can wear 6.5" heels but is still a struggle at times.
