pata, again I appreciate your comments. I don't consider myself handicapped. I can do most anything on my crutches and I also wear a peg leg. Yes, it is a peg leg. If you think crutches get attention and comments try a peg leg. haha I dress the same now as I did when I had two legs.

I am an attractive woman as you are and if other woman look down on me for the shoe I wear I really don't care. As with you I don't dress as a tramp and wearing a 5 or 6" HH doesn't make me or anyone else a tramp. I don't need their approval. I do agree a true compliment from a woman is very much appreciated. But the dumpy woman that aren't interested in taking care of themselves and looking nice and look down on those of us that take an interest in our appearance I ignore. I agree men often look at the erotic picture and that is OK with me. I dress to please me and at times to attract a man's attention. If that makes me a slut so be it. No, pata your question was not impolite or to direct. I appreciate your comment.

I get a lot of looks and some comments. I wear 5" and 6" heels ,w/o a platform, most of the time. I also only have one leg as my left leg was amputated above the knee. I enjoy the looks from men and really don't care what other woman think. I wore HH before my amputation and see no reason to quit. By the way it is easier crutching in a HH than walking. I may have an advantage. lol

iulia, I think I now understand what you are saying. Even if your built up shoe with a leg brace matched the high heel and you used crutches, your short leg would still dangle and you would not have control. In other words you couldn't control your short leg and swing it through your crutches.
-
Could you have your built up shoe made to match your high heel so your leg wouldn't dangle?

lilia, I am an above the knee amputee and love my HH. I normally wear a 5"HH, but do wear up to 7" with a 1" platform. Do people look at me, yes, but I don't care. The men love to see me crutching in a HH. If you want to wear HH outside, go for it. Franie

I am an LAK. I also wear a peg with my HH.

Life goes on. You make the best of what you have. I have always loved to wear HH and I see no reason not to continue. If you think guys like HH they really like someone on crutches wearing a HH.

An auto accident.

Hi Barbara, Iit is much easier to crutch wearing a HH than walking in HH. I wore HH before I was an amputee so I have experience both ways. I normally wear a 5" heel, but I do have a Femme 12 which has an 8" heel. That is for special occasions only.

I have not posted in a long time. I am a recent leg amputee that loves to wear a HH. I have found the height of the heel has very little effect on my ability to crutch and I do get a lot of attention from the opposite sex. Am I the only amputee here.

WOW!! That is fantastic. My bf would love that. How long does it take for you to recover when you take them off. Just being locked in HH for a weekend takes me a day to recover.

Do you wear any shoe beside the pony to make up the difference in the length of your legs. Is it difficult to walk in one pony shoe?
-
I agree with everyone. As long as your overall dress is appropriate for your work environment 5" heels are ok. Make sure you can walk in them. I wear 5" all the time and have worn 6" on occasion.

Great looking shoes!

Beth, are you enjoying the adventure in HH. If so look for more excitement. If you aren't enjoying it will be a long winter unless you have a heart to heart with your hubby. I would trade places. lol

Hello Saski, what is happening is normal. It will take a while for ligaments and tendons to adapt to the new heel height. You can wear the 5" heels when you are out and when you are home wear the higher heels all the time. This should speed up the process of wearing the higher heels comfortably. If you want to be permanently high heeled you may want to wear the higher heel to bed also. I can wear 6.5" heels but is still a struggle at times.

Hi Pernilla, I bet you will be the queen of the ball. Don't get tipsy and fall it's a long ay down. I wear heels that high but not tonight.
-
I agree totally. Love my heels!!

Yes i have the same problem at times. I remind them I can wear sexy heels or combat boots, which do they prefer. Normally that solves the problem. if not time for a new bf.

How high off the floor are your heels.
-
I like for some of the heel to show so you can tell how high they are.

I wear heels most of the time even to bed. I agree at home is a good training ground to get try higher heels. I wear my 6.5" around the house a lot, but still very unstable.

I am a LAK and use a peg with HH. I must admit I prefer crutches, but there are times when I want the use of my hands wearing a peg is great. It also attracts a lot of attention. I usually wear a 4" wedge with the peg, but I can go up to a 6" HH
