  1. I need to change my vote from, No, I have not yet found the courage to wear heels outside.to YES! Thank you all!!

Thanks to this forum and all who post here I finally wore my heels openly in the daylight and in town (Portsmouth) and guess what? no one even noticed!

After reading the advice of others here I brought a pair of heels a bit lower than my usual style and just went for it. After parking up I headed for the ticket machine only to find there was a maintainence man working on one of the machines, at this point I almost backed out but he never flinched even though my heels sounded like a train to me, that just boosted my confidence no end. After that it was all so easy, off through a major department store and away off through the main shopping precinct, checking out all the shoe shops along the way.

I now wonder what all the bother was about and realize that it was all in my own head and nobody out there actualy notices or they can't be bothered!

Once again Thanks to everyone here for the support and information.

  2. Dropped into a mainstream shop this morning and picked up a new pair of peep toe heels, not my usual style but they just jumped at me and I had to have them. (see attachment) I am not the most confident person when it comes to shopping for heels or for that fact wearing them, I am OK at home but try as I might I still can't get that confidence when it comes to wearing heels in public. any way when I came to pay for them the poor assistant, a girl in her early twentys, seemed to be totaly flustered by my purchase, she remained curtious throughout the transaction but dissapeared as soon as she handed me the recipt. It kind of gave me a boost to think that she was more embarresed than I was, although I would have been interested to hear the conversation back in the staff room! Anyone else had a similar situation ?

  3. Unlike the majority here I don't seem to get more comfortable with street heeling even after several attempts. I have not had any bad reactions, the sky stayed right where it should and I didn't see fingers pointing at me from every person I passed, but each time go to venture out I have the same trepidation that I felt the first time. I don't have the opertunity to get out very often, maybe its too long between times and I have to start all over again . Did anyone else have the same problems starting out ? Will it get better? I hope so!

  4. Sorry to have started this one then dissapeared but work conspires again! I thought I was going to be returning alone from a job now it seems I will be bringng back a 4 man crew ( probably not a good time to stop off to wear heels. )

  5. Well since you live so close to me, we could go up in the same car and it does not have to be the bank holiday weekend.

Unfotunatly I will be arriving from the other direction, "Up North" on my way home,

PM me and see if we can sort something out, maybe more local?

  6. Is anyone going to be in the Lakeside or Bluewater area on Saturday 3rd May. I am hopeing to make this my first public outing in heels and wondered if anybody from the group is likely to be in the area, as I may be in need of some moral support:-?
