  1. Take a look at this eBay auction for Pigalle, size 42. Do you think they're real? The price is definately real, heh.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/New-CHRISTIAN-LOUBOUTIN-Pigalle-Black-Patent-Pump-42-12-/200482519476?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Women_s_Shoes&hash=item2eadb079b4

Also, what happened to the Highest Heel "Hottie" knock-off? Looks like it's out of stock nearly everywhere!

I would love a pair like this, but I feel as though I waited too long...

    Thoughts?

  2. Payless's Fioni brand have made the same basic pump' date=' in different heights, over the years but their one called Hilt Pump (in black and red patent only), that I purchased, have a higher heel than most of their others. I have a number of Fioni pumps and the Hilt are about the highest, without a mini plat, I've ever bought from Payless.[/quote']

Might have to check these out, again.

  3. I recently purchased a Mossimo shoe, size 11, that advertises a 3 1/4 heel. The size 11 measures, no joke, 4.5" exactly. Now, when I measure the heel, I measure all the way up to the seam at the back of the shoe where the heel stops. But, I measured "just" the heel (where the heel meets the sole of the shoe) and it did measure just over 3". I wonder if that's how they're measuring them, perhaps? Probably not, but just a thought.

  4. They look very similar to what Payless sells. The Payless version is called "hilt pump" and comes in black or red patent. In a size 12 the heel is just shy of 5".

You know, I've tried those on more than a few times in Payless. Comfortable, and classic looking shoes. I don't really recall them being as high as you say, though, but it's been several months since I've tried them on (so I'm most likely wrong). Comparing the Fioni brand to Mossimo, though, and my Mossimo shoes feel like slightly better quality.

    Thoughts?

  5. Using what I've learned from this thread, I took a trip over to Marshall's and TJ Max. I didn't realize they carried so many name-brand shoes! Unfortunately, I was only able to find a few boring pairs of 11s at Marshall's, and nothing at TJ Max. They had a lot of 10s, and both stores actually had the shoes I was talking about in my previous post for only $34.99. Of course, no 11s. Darn!

  6. I have something to add!

I was recently at a local mall, and the department store sells Nine West. Nearly all the sizes (as most of you know) stop at size 10, with few exceptions. I browsed the clearance racks, and found a nice Nine West pump, size 11. It's what I'd describe as the classic pointy-toed pump, with a 3.5" heel. The color was a strange metallic gray/green, which was terrible, but this is the clearance rack we're talking about.

Anyway, so the size 11 got me hunting a little harder, and I found a neglected wall display near the end of the shoe department, where strangely, most of the heels on display were size 11s! Including, the same style pump in the clearance rack, but in patent black this time!

Just did a quick search, these were definitely the shoes:

    http://www.ninewest.com/Barbe/2929563,default,pd.html?cgid=7006&itemNum=66&variantSizeClass=&variantColor=DBROWLE

So I tried them on. Sadly, too tight. But gorgeous, and even though they were too tight, it was nice departure from the cheap shoes I usually buy. I do have one pair of used Nine West heels, size 11, that I bought at a thrift store. They're also a little tight, but for the price I couldn't say no (I think they were $3, half off from $6).

On the same trip to this department store, I came to realize that the Jessica Simpson brand has so many incredible styles, but they only go up to size 10 in most types. Dissapointing, I saw at least TWO styles that might have gone home with me. Couldn't find their pictures on the official site, either.

Still, shopping is fun because it's almost like a treasure hunt for those size 11s. And I've started to grow accustomed to going home empty handed, and being satisfied that I enjoyed the search.

  7. I was lucky, I actually got to try my 6inHF special arch pumps on before I bought them. They are second-hand. I've never owned any "regular" 6 inch heels. I had a pair of 5.5" heels, which were easy to walk in, and these are over 6" and pretty hard to walk in. But I'm a solid 220. I have an Ellie pump that measures well over 6", and they are impossible to walk in (for me at least). It seems that every tiny increment over 5.5", and they're going to require some practice. A LOT of practice, actually. My right toe was injured last year sometime, so my right toe doesn't bend as much as I'd like it to - so I might not be the best person to respond. But if your feet are fine, you should be okay as long as you put in lots of practice if you plan on walking in them. They are such interesting shoes, I am fine just sitting in a chair with them on. And yes, they do feel different. You can feel the arch. I'm wondering why they don't do this for all heeled shoes? It seems like it would support your foot a lot better.

  8. That's unfortunate, as almost all the shoes in the Jessica Simpson line seemed pretty hot. I would be a shame if they were built like crap. Of course, since they don't go up to my size, it's not like I'd ever be buying any.

Yeah, these looked good too. But you know when someone who never walks in heels does that "ankle wobble"?

I couldn't prevent that from happening. It was so strange. I tried them on 3 different times, thinking that I didn't have them on right, or something.

I bought a pair of Sketchers boots, with a huge block 4" heel at the thrift store the other day - $2, size 11. Cheapest boots or shoes I've ever bought!

The thrift store turns up some interesting things in size 11. I've seen very few size 12s, and those that I did see were "frumpy" styles.

  9. I've noticed the same exact trends. From what I can tell, Wal-Mart's highest size in anything respectable is a size 10. I don't even go there for shoes anymore. The larger Payless section is going away near me as well - verified in three different local stores. I saw NO 13s, and very few 12s. Though the 12s they had were a little more stylish. I wear size 11, and they had an "okay" amount of 11s, but not nearly as many as I remember them having before. I have noticed that Shoe Dept. (for those that have one) have an okay selection of shoes in size 11 and even 12, if you get there soon enough. Shoe Carnival also has size 11s and a few 12s, but those are dwindling as well! Many of the styles only go up to 10, and of course, they're the best styles. I tried to shop at the mall and the only pair I could find that was 11 with a nice heel was a Jessica Simpson pump, and it was incredibly unstable and uncomfortable. Felt like super-cheap plastic shoes.

  10. I had a girlfriend who never knew about my heel wearing. We broke up on mutual terms. Weeks later, I got a call from her. She admitted to snooping in my "saved e-mail" folder, looking for... well, I don't know what. But inside this folder, I had saved the online receipt for some 5" white mary jane heels, by Pleaser. They were size 12. She said "I found a receipt for some shoes.... some white shoes. And they weren't my size." I knew exactly what she was talking about. She then apologized that she snooped, and she shouldn't have done it, but it was obvious that she wanted to know more. I told her about how I love women's shoes, and she seemed okay with it. Technically, we both hid something from each other. Though she really crossed the line going through my e-mail. It sucks to have something that you want to hide from those close to you. I told my current girlfriend (slowly... haha) about my thing with shoes, and I think because I eased her into it, she was cool. I'm really glad I told her, because I don't have to hide that part of me. She knows ALL of me, and let me say... that's a wonderful feeling.

  11. I can really relate to the subject of this post, haha. I remember when I used to go out of my way to explain how they're not for me, but for my girlfriend, or whatever. I remember I bought one pair of sandals at Payless from two 20-something girls, and they had no idea they were for me. Kind of weird, really. Now I pretty much go out of my way to let them know they're mine, if they ask anything. I'm just not ashamed anymore. One girl had a little bit of an attitude. She knew they were for me and said "You're not going to return these, are you?" I think that's a crappy question to ask ANY customer. Her statement was of course based on the fact that I was a male purchasing the heels. That's the only problem I had with a salesclerk, actually. Once I had an Aldo sales lady who seemed positive that I was searching for a gift, and was legitimately shocked when I told her they were for me. That was kind of fun.

  12. I've never responded to this thread, so I figure I'd give it a try!

I went to Shoe Dept. today, and I was looking for anything that caught my eye. This particular store only has the right shoe in the box, and you have to ask for the other.

Both the sales ladies didn't even flinch when I was talking about size 11 heels for myself. They were both very nice, and I didn't feel weird. I tried them on right in front of the younger clerk, who was totally cool with it.

Today, I realized a dilemma I have. I buy way too many black shoes. I just love them, and they go with black hose so well, it's hard NOT to buy black. I reflected upon this, and decided that I needed to get something different... RED! I bought one red pair a while back, but they were too small. I think I paid $6 for them on clearance. I ended up giving those away to goodwill. Then I bought a pair of Diba red patent pointy-toed shoes, but they were size 12. Too big for me. I got them at a time when I was too afraid to try them on in the store.

Today, I tried on and bought a pair of Studio HD2 patent red heels. Trying them on was a blast, and aside from the employees, a few women passed by me. If I didn't know any better, they didn't even notice what I was doing! The heel is just shy of 4.5", and really easy to walk in. I forgot how easy a heel this "low" is easy to walk in. They were $20.

    Pictures!

It is so incredibly frustrating being a size 11. I know that a lot of members here take size 13 or larger, and say "yeah, well try to find MY size!" I understand that plight, but if I had such a large size, then I wouldn't even bother shopping around at a bunch of different stores. Unforunately, the department stores have the best styles, and they almost exclusively go up to size 10. I'd still rather be an 11 than a 13 or 14, but it's... like a tease, over and over. I've even had DREAMS where I try to find a pair that fits, and they're all too small.

I did find a pair of Jessica Simpson heels in size 11B ("B", really? What a slap in the face!) They fit, but these had an interesting problem I don't find in even cheaper shoes - I wobbled uncontrollably when I stood up on them. It almost felt like the heel was bending. They were 70% off, for $23, and I still couldn't make the purchase. Total crap quality, maybe. Or maybe they were just too narrow. They were also light pink, which was kinda neat, but not my favorite color.

Anyway, so that was my shopping experience today. It was a lot of fun, but I definitely saw a pair that was $70 and I would have bought them had they come in size 11.
