  1. Makes me wish I was back in SC!

Saturday here in SC was an absolutely gorgeous early spring day with Temperatures In the middle 80’s (27C).  And, I had to go to the grocery store to replenish my food stock.  With the weather being so nice, I dressed wearing a light blue short sleeved shirt, dark blue docker trousers and a pair of tan ankle boots with 4.5” wedge heels.  I spent around 45 minutes walking up and down the aisle checking things off my list as I put them into my shopping cart.  Once I had everything on my list, I made my way to check out line  to pay for my purchases.  While standing in line, waiting to unload my cart, the guy waiting behind me commented that he really liked my shoes.  I turned around and hiked up my pants leg so he could see them.  This particular pair are fairly new since I bought them on sale in the middle of January.  They are ankle boots, or booties, single sole, light tan, with 4.5” wedge heels and round toes. He took a good long, look at them and asked if they were comfortable and did i ever get any bad comments while wearing them.  I explained that I had been wearing girls shoes and heels in public for years and, in past years, I did get a few but these days it seems like everyone is too preoccupied, concentrating on their own business to notice what other people are doing.  I also said they were very comfortable and answered several more questions on why and where I bought them. As I pushed my cart into position to check out, he said that he was tempted to try a pair and was going to look up the website to see if they had his size in stock.  I paid for my groceries,  wished him luck and assured him that he would enjoy wearing them once he got started.  I made one more stop I’m my way home at my favorite Barbecue restaurant to pick up a pork plate (shredded bbq pork, rice and hash, cold slaw, potato salad, to take home.

  2. I just became really fascinated with all "girls" stuff when I was around 9 the crossing phase you could say. Tried on my mom's then but my feet quickly surpassed her size. I then bought my first pairs from Frederick of Hollywood later.I have become more of a wearer in the last few years, incorporating them into my wardrobe, setting the so called crossdressing aside years ago. Who wouldn't want to wear such an artistic and architectural piece on their feet?

  3. Nice boots bionicbabe and yes you could rock those with jeans no problem.

Histiletto, I am not sure why folks can't turn off the social critique. I suppose there are several psychological factors involved that contribute but ultimately not warranted. It is still their right though and I can understand that.

  4. Good feedback all and thanks again. Crotchhiboots, that is funny and yes, I would be caught dead wearing them if I had them on at that point. Why not? At that point I won't be here anyway!

I will have to check out those reviews bluejay. I often wonder how many reviews I read are from men.

  5. I just wanted to share this with you all, men and women alike, a recent purchase I made. What makes this so interesting is that I originally purchased these black Nine West Sharina peep toes, really l liked them, but returned them because my wife didn't like them. They were very stylish to me and were very comfortable because of the way they are designed.
Later, I found some nice gladiator sandals on a different web site and decided to order them. Since I would get free shipping if I bought another pair, I went with the Nine West Karoo in the nude color which is essentially the same as the Sharina. However, when they arrived, I fell in love with them yet my wife did not. I liked the nude color over the black. She thought they looked like hooker heels and the color reminded her of a dead corpse. I am not sure I have ever heard such an expressive opinion! I will post both and ask you all your opinion as well. I apologize that my feet did not look better with the black pair.

  6. I guess it only stands to reason that a lot of men take cues from women in their style. The vast majority of men do not care how they look while most of the rest who do are busy hiding. This leaves the very few men left (myself included) to represent. Meanwhile women have all the choices in the world and a lot of them take advantage. I used to do the crossdress thing but realized over the years that taking on a separate "female" personality just to have an excuse to wear something more stylish and desirable while hiding my true identity from the public was just ridiculous. What makes even less sense is to name any form of clothing or shoes, makeup etc. including heels and men wore/used it first in history, most all of it but now we are as a majority too scared or lazy to do otherwise?

  7. Thank you legs77777 for the compliment but reds and pinks are hardly boring either. Just more common a color or used to be. I would say clear or none at all would be more boring, LOL. I like rich blues and purples as well. SF - I agree with you completely. If you are going to expose your feet and wear sandals of any form, male or female, you should take care of your feet and make sure they look nice and neat. Unfortunately, most men and even some women fail to follow this recommendation. *sigh*

  8. Tech is right. It shouldn't be a problem. I would consider my office to be rather conservative toward guys. Even though sandal wear is supposed to be limited to a couple of months of summer for everyone, the women still wear whatever sandals they want the rest of the year and no one tells them any different yet men are supposed to stop wearing them. I wear rather "conservative" heels such as 2 1/2" to 3" heeled J. Renee boots but one pair is brown croc print, the other sort of a black lizard print which gives them pizzazz. Makes for a good detour from the boring and mundane.

  9. Thanks everyone for the comments. Sorry I have been away for a bit trying to hunt for houses. It is really nice to be able to do such things. I have received compliments from others at work on my shoes. Thankfully I have an office job not requiring much physical labor so I can dress up a bit. For those who work hard there is no shame at all in that. You will simply enjoy your heel wearing more at the end of the day!

    Greetings abburke :-)

Your female co-workers are making positice remarks about your pedicure.

May I ask you if they made any comment about your make-up ?

I don't wear make-up but I think a small amount of foundation would help me even my skin tone.

Lucky you to have longer hair. I'm sure this helps to wear make-up.

Don't think I could do make-up because I shave my head. I guess it would look "weird"...

I mean where you stop your make-up application if you have no hair line ? ( LOL ! )

Hi Daniel. I had a couple of compliments on the makeup. Not sure how it would work with a shaved head! LOL It is not real noticeable but there is one guy I work with who gives me a hard time a lot but it is really interesting how he seems to be the only one who notices or cares. He did tell me that I had better looking hands and feet than most women when he saw my french style manicure and pedicure. I told a couple of the women I like to wear some makeup and polish and they think it is great. I was in a grocery store checking out one time with the wife purchasing a 6 pack while wearing makeup. I am 37 but the lady checking us out carded me. When she looked at my driver's license and age, she looked at me again in awe and told me that life has been really good to me! Obviously she thought I was a lot younger than I really was yet I am sure the makeup helped!

  10. Thank you all for sharing. I hope also if you have a Hubpage account or even a Wordpress, etc. you will follow me as I try to continue my series. I am trying to help men become more so as I offer suggestion and alternatives to the boring and mundane that has become men's fashion. It is funny, though I wrote of ways to adorn the neck, I myself have not worn any jewelry, necklaces or other such things upon my neck in quite some time! I used to wear a gold chain but lost interest. I would love try a choker or a nice silk scarf sometime. Will have to wait until my house purchase is completed though and more money is available!

  11. Just finished reading the posts starting with heelguy's picture posts of his leopard dress/white and black heels as well as the white top, black skirt and blue heels. My head is spinning now from all the content! I really wanted to comment though. First, heelguy, you can be proud that your body looks better in those outfits than a lot of women would and I wish I were disciplined enough to work out and get my body into that kind of shape so kudos to you there. I love both pairs of the heels you were wearing, very nice. However, all that being said, unfortunately, I didn't think the heels went with the outfits. As a matter of fact the first pair of heels would have gone better with the second outfit. The fact that leopard print is perceived as a bit wild and flashy, a more conservative neutral color heels would have gone better. What I didn't like about either outfit was how short the dress and skirt were. Even if you were a woman, I still would have disapproved no matter how much I liked to look. Call me conservative or old fashion but that is how I see it. Ultimately though, doesn't really matter what I or anyone else here thinks. It is your life and clothes/heels. If you and your mate are happy with it, not hurting anyone and you aren't half naked showing your privates then not much can be said. I certainly do not want to infringe on anyone's rights. I know everyone here that commented was offering advice and trying to help not hurt and that is good. I get a little frustrated with the crossdressing stuff. I used to be one and what bothers me about it so much is the deceptive idea of trying to fool others into thinking you are the opposite sex when in fact you are not no matter how much makeup you cake on or panties you wear. You do not have to live out two personalities just be yourself. I know, not a topic about that. I did like kneehigh's post on 16th August 2011 16:37 and really the best thing is to just take every opportunity to be yourself and wear what you want when possible. You can't always worry what others think or what the herd is doing. Going to have to find some of heelguy's adventure posts as they sound interesting!

  12. Just thought I would share some encouragement with the group real quick. I am at work right now wearing some 3 1/2" black wedge sandals with a french pedicure, Gap (women's) slim flare leg jeans and a black Guess? shirt along with a little mineral makeup and eye liner. Sporting long hair too. The ladies in the area are talking about and loving the pedicure. How is that for positive encouragement? Also, I sometimes wear my 3 1/2" heel J. Renee black boots as well as some heeled brown croc print boots. I have received compliments about them here from guys and girls.

  13. Thank you Barney for the information and the pictures! I wonder if I might show case those pictures in one of my new articles? It is amazing as others have pointed out that fashion (as well as everything else) seems to have performed a 180° turn. Everything is upside down, what was black is white, what was white is black. Makes you wonder!
