I'm sure i read that somewhere, Loubies were out and Manolos were in.
No such high end loveliness for me today, but i do have a new pair of Dune slingbacks to hopefully make elegant progress in. Nice to have a little more foot exposed, peeptoes next week maybe!

lol, that might be sooner rather than later, did i hear right that Manolos are making a comeback?

I think that's probably to do with all the rain we had over the winter. Rain combined with frost results in "frost action"
This happens when water seeps into small cracks in the road or pavement. It freezes and expands creating great pressure. The pressure causes the crack to widen and allows water to seep deeper into the surface after which the process is repeated until the fissure is large enough to permit a heel tip.
sounds like a sensible explanation, and councils have no money so they don't repair them. :-(

anyone noticing now the weather has warmed up the paving and roads are more full of cracks and holes than ever!

I'm sure you would, unfortuantely she was the boss, she used to criticise me to my face and i'm sure behind my back too, then she got the ear of the man who i was working to support and it became difficult. she used to send me on pointless errands which annoyed me no end
-
maybe, i think she was a bit of a frustrated frump and saw me as a bright young thing who wanted to change the way things were done. maybe she was just jealous and my clothes were just a way to get at me as she saw it. have u ever encoutered that kind of thing?

Haven't had any big problems with heel bias in a while, i had a female boss a few years back who used to look down her nose and went out of her way to make life difficult, but like i say, that was a while back. I don't know what this manager thought, whether she thought i was being "tarty", she never said as much but you'd get snide little comments and things. she was a much older lady, and the person i'd replaced in the job she managed me in was a similarly older lady who she really liked. so maybe my face didnt fit. think she was just a bit of an insecure bully, serving out her time, frustrated coz she hadnt got to the level she thought she deserved, she'd pass sarky comments on my clothes, accused me of sucking up to the boss i was supposed to be supporting as an adminstrator (who by the way was gay) and i think just actually liked me) and then she accused me of incompetence and not long after that i left to get another job.

In some cases it's 'bare face, oh yuck'. But I shouldn't be cruel. I can only assume that some of the young women have seen a different weather forecast than me.
lol, sometimes veils would be useful hehe. are you onto your summer wardrobe Megan?
-
bare midriffs, oh yuk, I'm glad i've not got bare legs today never mind a bare midriff or a summer dress and strappy shoes and nothing else! keep wanting to break out the peeptoe heels tho, maybe next week.
-
I saw some people out yesterday in their summer dresses and sandals with bare legs, they must be quite hardy or otherwise immune to the cold!

Hey those are nice. I rather like the way that D'orsay styles reveal more of your foot.....
besides it's still winter. I'm hearing that it will snow again soon. That just doesn't inspire me to replenish any of my wardrobe.
yes i agree, love the way a d'orsay shows off more of the foot.
more snow, really! OMG, in May, is that normal where you are? maybe you'll need to wait a bit longer to break out the peeptoes and strappy sandals :-)

have you bought any new heels recently Amanda, i've got some Kurt Geiger Anja open sided courts which i haven't given a first wear to yet

mine are Nude

Do you like the Pigalles Amanda?

Ocassionally I've had to take a pair of scissors to old favorites shoes. Too scruffy to wear even at home they tend to gather dust in my wardrobe. I simply can't bear to part with them. Does anyone else suffer from this?
lol, yes, i've got plenty of former favourite gathering dust at the bottom of my wardrope too, I've never taken scissors to a pair i have to say, but I do have some that are probably beyond praying for.

A friend told me about Rupert Sanderson yesterday (not a name i'd heard before) but i've had a look at their range and some of their styles look lovely IMO
http://www.rupertsanderson.com/high-heels
"Shelly" peeptoes look summer ready, but my purse will need to stretch lol x
-
i have a pair of 6 inchers but i can't leave the house in them, too high for wearing for any lenght of time, 5-5.5" is doable but that extra half inch is too much
-
Oh I like the Anouk, very "pigalleish"
Yes thats true, do you have both, which do you prefer Amanda?
-
i meant viola colour ,is there a viola style too? I've got some "Anouk's" and I havent found anything i'd swap them for on their site today oh it appears there is a "viola" style too, didnt see those first time round, no i wouldnt especially go for those either
-
i like Maya as a style too,the "Lance" sandals are the ones that i think are there in that orange metalic, I'd go for patent "viola" i think. i think they look delicious x
-
style i love! colour i'd prob have to see in the flesh before i spent hundreds of pounds hah,
i think they've put the wrong name on the website there tho, arent those shoes these ones?
http://www.jimmychoo.com/cruise-13/marcie-/invt/123marciectml
they are "Marcie" not "Maya" I think
choo sandals galore, mmmmm
-
lol, time to ditch the wooly tights and strap on the skyscraper heels hehe
"Actually I have seen a few spaghetti choos like these that i rather fancy:
http://shoefessional...strappy-sandal/
Certainly not in metallic though."

mmm i like the choos! but I'd need to be very confident my feet had been pampered and looked there best lol
Carrying / Transporting Your High Heels To And From

Hi Bridget, welcome to HHPlace.
Good question this. For me I make the journey to and from work wearing my heels, and I also travel in them for work or often for other things too. I've got a good collection of heels, very few pairs of flats and i keep my trainers to running only really. I am not a fan of the "office outfit and trainers" look at all so I wear my heels, and of course they do wear!
