  1. Hi Megan and Heidi, Heidi, the images I posted are not of my own boots, I just downloaded them from the internet as examples of the size and shape and style of heels that the majority of my boots have. The examples I posted were the closest I could find to my most commonly worn and favourite boots. It's funny you mention about #4 having a lining, as I have a pair very similar to that and they are fur-lined :wavey: Megan, with regards to your question about have I got wet in all of my boots, the answer is yes. Every pair I own, at one point or another, has either ended up submerged in the bath or I've jumped in my pool wearing them :) Thanks for your compliment about me having long legs. Yes, I suppose I do, as I have a 33" inside leg, so when I buy jeans I always have to buy them in a size 8, but in extra long leg length, as standard length women's jeans are far too short for me. Anyway, must dash, look forward to hearing from you again soon as always. Regards, Sharon. xx

  2. Hi Sangue (and the rest of our gang), Regarding the block heel, classic 60s/70s-inspired knee-length boots, I will take some pictures of some of my favourite boots and try and upload them later today so that you can see what they look like, and the types of heels on them that I'm talking about :wavey: Regards, Sharon. xx

  3. Hi Sangue (and the rest of the gang), Sangue, in answer to your question, you're right, I do wear knee-length boots a lot... Well, actually, nearly all the time. The styles I usually buy and wear are typically black, brown, white or pillar-box red. All are genuine leather. I tend to usually go for zip-up boots rather than pull-on ones, and although I do have some with kitten/stiletto type heels, I tend to favour the classic 60s/70s block heel style. The minimum heel height I will buy is 2.5 inches, and the maximum is 5.5 inches. Typically, most of my favourite boots have either a 3, 3.5 or 4 inch block heel. I do also like wedge heels, but I only own a few pairs of boots with that style of heel. Also, because I'm tall, the leg height of knee boots must be a minimum of 15 inches and a maximum of 17 inches. I've seen some that are classed as 'knee boots', but are only 12 or 13 inches in height. These would be fine on short women, but on me they just look calf-length, not knee-length. Well, must dash, as I'm off out for the evening now. Enjoy the weekend, and look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  4. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Glad to hear you got your heater refuelled  As for the cowboy boots, nice to hear you've got wet in them before and liked it. They hold a lot, and squelch nicely, especially with thick opaque tights on or even more so with a pair of socks over your tights. How did you get wet in them, did you get in the bath with them on or did you step into a deep stream or other source of water outdoors, for example a lake, the sea etc? If you got soaked in them outdoors, maybe try it next time in the warm bath so you can experience the different feelings of doing it in both cold and hot water. Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend and look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  5. Hi Megan and Heidi, Megan, +8C indoors? That's seriously dangerous, you're at a great risk of catching hypothermia at temperatures as low as that. When you get a gas cylinder refill, it may be worth getting a second one and then rotate them so one in the heater, and oone stored away somewhere. When the one in the heater runs out, simply swap them over and take the empty one back for refilling a few days later. I have gas central heating in my house, and at the moment it's on 24 hours a day with the thermostat set to +25C. As for going out to your quiz night, the outfit you chose sounded really cosy and comfy, ideal for the weather at this time of year. Nice to hear that you wore heels  I'm guessing they were of an angled, indented block heel? Have you ever got soaked in those boots yet? I jumped in the pool wearing a pair of those last summer, they felt great to swim in and were lovely and squishy to walk around the garden in afterwards, as mine were the 'pull-on' variety, and therefore had no zip to let most of the water out. Anyway, must get on, and hope you got your gas sorted out today. Regards, Sharon. xx

  6. Hello Heidi, Thanks for your concern, it is very very cold down here but not quite as bad as last winter. If there's one good thing that comes out of cold winters, it's that it gives me even more of a good reaon to wear my 300 denier tights with my knee-length boots. Anyway, sorry this is a very short post, I was merely popping in just to check for replies and saw you had posted, so thought I'd let you know that all's well and I'm OK. Look forward to hearing from you again as always. Regards, Sharon. xx

  7. Hi Megan, Just a query with what you were saying about getting wet with boots on. You said about when the water goes over the tops of them after wading in, are you talking about doing it in welly boots, as most knee-length boots that you would wear with a skirt and tights have zips, thus the water starts to go in your boots when you're only ankle-deep. As for what you said about wearing a slip/petticoat, I'm sure that would feel nice, as it basically acts the same as the silky lining in most good quality pencil skirts, and I can say for certain that such skirts feel really nice when submerged  Anyway, look forward to hearing from you soon as usual. Regards, Sharon. xx

  8. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), I'm glad to hear you did the bath, and your outfit sounded nice. Ballet pumps are great, but for me, I tend to find they fill up too quickly. I like getting wet in them, but find it feels nicer to do it in good quality trainers or a classy pair of genuine leather knee boots, as they hold a lot more water, take longer to fill up, and are wonderfully squishy and squelchy  I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the experience, and glad you want to do it again. Try it with many different kinds of outfits and different types of shoes and boots. For example, socks worn over tights with leggings and trainers. Also, try different materials and styles of underwear, as they all have different and unique feelings when both submerged, and when you stand up totally dripping wet. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Regards, Sharon. xx

  9. Hi gang, Heidi, in answer to your questions, I like going in wearing trainers, especially my really expensive ones, as they tend to have lots of cushioning and padding in them, which becomes super squishy and squelchy when soaked, and I just love the feeling of it and the sound that it makes when I wriggle my toes around in them. When I do this, I often wear a pair of nice, thick, soft socks over my tights. Walking in them when they're soaked is also fun, as it pushes down on the cushioning, forcing the water to go in and out between my toes through my socks and tights. Obviously, my other main favourite for soaking, bathing in and going swimming wearing is a decent pair of leather knee-length boots, as I just love the way they feel to get wet in and have them on wet. When I wear boots, I don't wear socks, just my opaque tights, as I love the smooth feeling of the soft tights on my feet against the insides of my boots, be it either smooth-lined or fur-lined. With regards to your second question, I haven't tried that, but like I said in a previous post, I often wear brightly coloured opaques with a pair of black satin-look leggings with small slits down the outside of each leg. The contrast between the black leggings and the brightly-coloured opaques through the slits looks really nice  I'm glad to hear that you slept with a pair of tights on. I do this every night, all year round, and just increase or decrease the denier depending on the time of year. Like I said, I think I've become addicted to wearing tights, as whenever I take them off it feels like part of me is missing, even more so than putting a top on without a bra on under it! Megan, glad to hear you like the idea of a fully-clothed bath. You could do it with the candles and wine, but the main focus really needs to be on the outfit you're going to wear. Just imagine that you're planning on going to a posh party or an evening out with friends, or even going to the gym, and plan the outfit accordingly. Different shoes and boots and different clothes all have a different feeling when you bathe in them. For example, trainers, socks, tights with leggings over them, cotton bra and panties, stretch cotton top and a baggy hoodie feel lovely to bathe or swim in, but feel completely different from knee-length boots, opaque tights, satin bra and panties, satin blouse and a two-piece skirt suit. For me, both the above mentioned outfits are my favourites for getting drenched in. Accessorising can also be fun, for example wearing super-tight skinny jeans with a glittery belt on them, and wearing a comfy puffa jacket with a scarf and maybe even a hat and gloves. Dress up like you're wrapping up really well for a winter walk, and then get into a deep bath and slowly submerge yourself. Trust me, it feels amazing doing it with so much on. Anyway, hope you have fun doing it. Please let us know everything that you wore, and describe the experience in detail. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  10. Hi gang, Megan, as for your question regarding the different feelings between warm, cool and cold water, yes, they all certainly do feel very different. I stepped into my bath the other week wearing an expensive pair of trainers and soft white cotton ankle socks over black 140 denier opaque tights. When I stepped in I could feel my trainers filling with water but not nearly as much as if I'd done it with cold water. This is because my feet were really nice and warm in them, so it took me a while to feel the nice warm bath water. When I do it with cold, it's a much faster sensation, as I feel it flooding the trainers, going all around and between my toes and under the soles of my feet, all through my socks and tights. Heidi, in answer to your question regarding my skirt lengths, nearly all of my pencil skirts are either 18", 19" or 21" long. I don't like ones that come below the knee. Being rather tall (just shy of 5'10"), my longest 21" skirts are about an inch or so above my knee. The 18" skirts are around 4" above my knee, so I always have a slight amount of visible leg from the tops of my boots to the bottom of the skirt. I like it this way, as it allows me to show off any fancy tights that I'm wearing. Regarding your second question, as I literally live in opaque tights all the time, my feet and legs have become so used to the feeling of them being there that temperature extremes, either very cold or very hot, don't affect me. So for me, it would have been no problem, I would have kept my 140s or 300s with knee boots on, and just taken my jacket off if I was feeling too warm. Anyway, look forward from you again soon, and hope you all have a lovely weekend. Regards, Sharon. xx

  11. Hi gang, Firstly, I'd like to welcome Hanna to our little group. I'm going to send you a friend request on here, as I only have people on friends who are in our little gang. As for what you put about me, I must say, you were spot on! And from what I read about the rest of our group, I certainly think you've got most of it right. Heidi, regarding your question about my tights when I wear dark coloured skirt suits, I tend to colour match my opaques with the skirt and jacket, so I wear my navy 140 deniers with a navy skirt suit, bottle green 140 deniers with a dark green skirt suit, and so on and so forth. As for my 300 denier tights, I only have those in black at the moment, as it's the only colour I can find. I have asked my friend in England to see if the supermarket where she got them for me does them in other colours. I would love to own 300 denier tights in navy blue, as that's my favourite colour of opaques. Megan, thank you for the compliments on my outfits. Regarding getting wet in it, I didn't that evening when I got home, but I more than likely will do tomorrow when I get home from work, as I like to have a long bath on Friday evenings and I do my laundry on Saturday morning, so there's nothing better than relaxing in a nice, deep, warm bath with my entire work outfit on, leather knee-length boots included. It's the best time to do it, as my boots can stand upright on a radiator and will be dry as a bone for work on Monday morning, and the wet skirt suit, blouse, tights and underwear can sit in a bag wet overnight, and go in the washing machine on Saturday morning  Well, that's me done for now. Look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  12. Hi Megan, Your shoes actually sound really nice, and whilst I usually live in block-heeled knee-length boots, I do also possess some ballet flats and similar style flat shoes. I also have some flats with a dolly bar across the tops. They look very schoolgirl-ish (I remember my Mum buying me shoes like that when I was about 13). However, they still look really nice when worn with a pair of black opaques and a short floral skirt or mini-dress. I've deliberately stepped in very deep puddles wearing them before, and you're right, they do completely fill within just a couple of seconds, and in exactly the way you described with your shoes  Nice to hear you were wearing 300 denier opaque tights. It's funny you mention those, as I'm also wearing black 300 deniers here at work today, along with my black 3" shaped block heel leather knee-length boots, a cream satin blouse and navy blue skirt suit. It's a regular fully-lined jacket with a matching short 18" length pencil skirt (also fully lined). It's very comfy, and also quite tight, but I like skirts like this, as I'm tall and very slim, so they give my backside a nice shape, while revealing enough of my long legs between the bottom of my skirt and the tops of my boots  Well, must get on, look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  13. Hi meganiwish, Sounds like you had fun  What type of shoes are these? Do they have any heel, and if so, what type, and what height? Also, when you went in that very deep puddle, how long did it take to completely fill your shoes? Are they slip-on or lace-up? Lastly, what denier black tights did you wear? Anyway, hope to hear back from you soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  14. Hi meganiwish (and the rest of the gang), Thank you for the nice compliments. With regards to your question about the slits in the leggings, no, I don't do them myself, I buy them already like it. I think trying to do it yourself would be tricky, as getting the size and distance between each slit would not be an easy thing to do properly. As for the song "Breakfast at Tiffany's", that was 1986, and not the film (my mistake). The song was sung by 80s pop group "Deep Blue Something". As for what you said about going in the sea in winter, were you referring to just wearing a swimsuit/bikini, or actually going in fully clothed, including shoes/boots? Because there is a lot of difference in how you feel the temperature when going in fully clothed. I personally find it much nicer to go in clothed, as I love the way the wet clothes feel, and more importantly they keep the wind off you. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  15. Hi meganiwish and Sangue, Yeah, Breakfast at Tiffany's is a great film. I'm just trying to remember when that was made, I think it was 1986? When you mentioned about mesh tights worn over opaques, I've done that myself, but I have a even better and cool thing to do. Get yourself some black satin-look leggings that have little slits all down the outside of each leg, and wear them over a pair of brightly-coloured opaque tights. I've done this with several different colours. The best colours for me are pillar-box red, royal blue, leaf-green and bright purple/mauve. If you want to be more daring, try wearing neon pink 70 denier opaques under such leggings. I did this the other week and wore a tight, bright pink top with them, and stretch pull-on black calf-length boots  The contrast between the shiny black leggings with the super-bright neon tights shining betwen the slits looked fantastic, and I had a fair few people asking me where I got leggings like that. They thought it was just leggings with the coloured bits, and were quite amazed when I said that it was coloured tights worn under them for the effect. And yes, before you ask, I have got soaked in them, and they look and feel great  Anyway, let us know what you think. Regards, Sharon. xx

  16. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Megan, sounds like you certainly have a nice taste in the types of skirts and tights that you wear. I see that you're not keen on wearing heels. Have you ever tried buying knee-length boots in the 'riding' style? They typically have less than a 1" flat block heel, yet can look very stylish worn with either classic black leggings and a tunic-length top, or opaque tights and either a classic pencil skirt or a stretch denim mini skirt. Well, look forward to hearing from you and hope you're having a great weekend. Regards, Sharon. xx

  17. Hi Meganiwish, Welcome to our little group. You're certainly not the only one who enjoys this  When you have time, have a good read through this thread, as you will see I have posted many detailed write-ups on my wet adventures, involving many different types of boots and shoes, opaque tights and various other items of clothing. Anyway, certainly hope to hear from you again in the near future, and once again, welcome. Regards, Sharon. xx

  18. Hi Sangue, Nice to see you back with us hun. This is going to have to be a flying visit, as I'm very busy at the moment, but I would like to say that the outfits you mentioned about do sound very pretty, and you're right, I'm fairly sure they would turn heads. Anyway, really must dash, as I'm working this evening until 11pm. Hope to have more time to chat with you again soon. Sharon. xx

  19. Hello Heidi, Thank you for the kind compliments. Yeah, I find running in those trainers very easy. This may be because I can run in 3 or 4" block-heeled knee boots (obviously I wouldn't go out running wearing them, but there have been times when I've been out and had to sprint to catch a bus in such boots, and find it remarkably easy, maybe because I keep the weight on my toes). Anyway, hope the business trip goes well, and look forward to hearing from you in a week or two, when you return. One last thing: while you're away, could you not buy a PAYG U.S. SIM card with a data allowance and use your phone's browser to come on here? Well, look forward to hearing from you again soon anyway. Regards, Sharon. xx

  20. Hello again Heidi, Regarding your question to do with running distances, I usually find around a mile outbound and a mile back. I can do further, but often it's a matter of the time available. As for your question about the running outfit, I tend to keep it the same all year round, but in the summer I sometimes swap the hoodie for a zip-through top and have it only half zipped up to allow for ventilation. I often then, upon getting home, run straight down the garden and jump into the pool (and yes, you've guessed it, with the whole lot on, trainers included). It's a fantastic way to cool off, and means that I get a swim after a running session  I must be doing something right, as at 36 years old I'm still a dress size 8 (Germany size 34). I don't know many women of my age and height who are that slim, so I think the regular exercise and good diet are what's keeping me trim  As for your last question, about the change from heels to trainers, no, not for me personally, but then again I do semi-cheat, as the trainers I wear are platform-soled by 2", so they feel a bit like wearing the trainer equivalent of 2" wedge heels on boots. Well, best be getting on, just received a new xbox game in the post today and want to try it out. Hope you have a great weekend, and looking forward to hearing from you again soon. Sharon. xx

  21. Hello there again Heidi  With regards to your first question, no, I wouldn't have bothered to attempt to dry any of the items I was wearing that I'd got wet in, as I like the way the wet clothes against my skin feel, especially tights and underwear, as the different fabrics all have a different feel when wet. For example, cotton/lycra panties when wet feel soft and clingy against my skin, whereas silky satin-style ones have a smooth, almost creamy feeling and sensation to them, in much the same way as shiny satin opaques vs deep matt opaques do. As for your second question, regarding dancing in soaking wet knee-length boots, no, I wouldn't have emptied them out. Let's say that I had completely submerged my legs in the fountain, so both boots were entirely underwater: when I would have stepped out, the level of water in the shaft of the boot would have drained out steadily through the base of the zip in just less than a minute, leaving only the foot parts of the boots full of water, which I would have happily danced in whilst squishing and squelching nicely, feeling the water through my thick tights and going in and out between my toes and under the soles of my feet. In answer to your third question, about heels I wear for the weekend when not at work, I do have courts, but I generally only wear those to work (and only on very, very hot days in the middle of summer). The ambient daytime temperature would have to be at least 25c before I would even contemplate wearing anything other than knee-length boots. So at the weekend, when I'm going out, I usually wear the same combination of knee boots and tights that I would wear to work, and just replace the skirt suit with a less formal skirt and top, or a tunic/dress-style top, or tunic top with leggings over tights. If it's at the weekend during the daytimes, when I'm at home or out shopping, I tend to usually wear leggings over tights, with a skinny-fit top and comfy hoodie, and wear either my Ugg or Rocket Dog flat, calf-length fur-lined boots. The only exception to this is if I'm going running or jogging, in which case the hoodie and leggings outfit stays, but I swap the boots for one of my decent pairs of trainers and wear a pair of thick slouch socks over my tights, covering the bottom of my leggings at the ankle, thus concealing my tights so it looks like I'm wearing the classic running outfit of trainers, socks and leggings. Well, best get on, as I finish work in 15 minutes, want to get home and get tea on  Look forward to hearing from you again soon. All the best, Sharon. xx

  22. Hello Heidi, and thanks for such a quick reply. Sorry it's taken me a little while to get back to you, but lately I've only been logging in just once a day to check for replies. As for your first question, no, I wouldn't have gone to the ladies' room to change, as I wouldn't have had a spare outfit with me. I would have just continued the evening and gradually dried off (although denim skirts can take a long time, especially at night when there's no sun to help the drying process). My tights would have gradually dried on my legs, but the panties would still have been quite wet, and my feet, and the tights around them, would not have dried, as the boots would have retained some water even after hours of dancing. As for the heel height, when I go out on weekends I generally tend to wear a minimum of 2.5" block or wedge heels, but this can often be anything up to 4", as I feel most comfortable at anything between 2.5 and 4 inches. Usually for work 5 days a week I wear 2.5 - 3" block heeled knee boots, and I'm so used to them, and find them so comfortable, that I can walk in them, or be standing, for long periods of time, just like wearing ballet flats! As for your other question regarding leather vs fur-lined, I'd have to say, if I'm out partying, I always tend to favour black leather, high-heeled knee-length boots teamed with a decent pair of opaque tights and a short, tight skirt (either a tight little mini pencil skirt or a stretch denim one with fancy detail on the back pockets). When it comes to wearing fur-lined boots such as my tan Uggs or my black Rocket Dogs etc., I tend to wear these when I'm away from work or at home, out shopping etc. I usually wear them with opaque tights, with a pair of classic black cotton and lycra leggings worn over the tights, a fitted tee top and a comfy, baggy hooded top over that. It looks casual, yet nicely girlie, and is very cosy and comfy. The reasons for wearing tights under the leggings are because, a, it means I don't need to wear any socks, and b, leggings alone at this time of year don't keep the wind off my legs, yet having a pair of thick opaques under them gives me a comfortable second layer and keeps the cold out  As for your last question regarding the zips on my boots, no, I've never yet found a zip that won't allow water in. Some let water in quicker than others, but if you stand in the bath or a very deep puddle etc., they will always let water in after around three to five seconds. It will go in slowly at first, and you would feel it just below your ankle-bone, then under the arch of your foot as it starts to soak your tights, then it will start to go in much faster and you would feel it run right down to your toes and quickly fill your boots to ankle depth (more so if the water is deeper). I do have some stretch pull-on style knee boots that are very conforming to the calves; as these have no zips, they do tend to be much more resistant to letting water in. That being said, I have tested this style of boot by putting it on and placing my foot in a deep-filled bucket of water, and timing how long it takes before I start to feel it coming in. The water depth is usually about 3/4 of the way up the boot shaft, and typically takes around 30 - 40 seconds before the filling process begins. So if you accidentally step into a very deep puddle wearing them, providing you stepped out again rather quickly, I think your feet and tights would stay dry. Anyway, lunch break nearly over, I'd best get back to work. Look forward to hearing from you again soon. Sharon. xx

  23. Hello again Heidi (and the rest of the gang if reading), Heidi, thanks for letting me know about Wyndi. As for your party, sounds like good fun. If I had been there, I would certainly have been wearing black leather knee boots as well, along with my 300 denier black tights and most likely a short, tight-fitting stretch denim mini skirt. As for getting rid of any soap bubbles on the boots, I would have been straight in that fountain, sitting down in it up to my waist with legs stretched out under the water, skirt, tights, panties and boots completely soaked and underwater  Hmm... just thinking about that is making me want to put that on and go and run a bath LOL. As for your boots, Heidi, unless the water went to or above the base of the zip, they won't have let any in, however if you only dipped them in a bit the temperature of the cool water would have cooled the leather down, and in turn would slightly reduce the temperature of your feet. Anyway, must get on. Hope to hear from you again soon. With love as always, Sharon. xx
