  1. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Just thought I'd drop in to report a rather cool soaking the other day. As the weather has started to show signs of summer, I decided a swim was in order and, as you know with me, swimsuits or bikinis are not my thing :) so it was more a case of picking what clothes and shoes I fancied wearing in the pool. I went for a casual but comfy sporty look which was comprised of my new white leather 'Shape N Tone' platform trainers with white ankle socks worn over 80 denier black opaques, full-length classic black cotton/lycra leggings with cotton panties, a sports bra, and a fitted long-sleeved tee with a cerise pink hoodie top. At first, I couldn't make my mind up whether to walk in slowly down the steps, or to go to the deep end and simply jump in. After about a minute of thinking about this I decided to walk in slowly, first enjoying the cool water filling my nice new trainers and soaking my socks and tights, and then wading in deeper until I was submerged to the waist :) It felt simply amazing. At that point, I just put my arms forward and slipped fully into the water and started swimming. It was lovely. There's just something so satisfying about swimming in decent trainers with tights and leggings. I'll probably do it again over the weekend (weather permitting), only next time I'll probably do it wearing knee-length boots with my black skinny jeans. Not sure about the top half of the outfit yet. Any suggestions? Anyway, look forward to hearing from you soon, Regards, Sharon. xx

  2. Hi Megan, Sorry it's taken me a while to reply, as yeah, I have been very busy with work recently. As for your question regarding tea, yes, we do drink it here, but I'm one of those strange people who don't drink tea or coffee lol. With regards to your previous post, when you got soaked in the rain the other week, what type of tights and shoes/boots were you wearing, and did they get thoroughly soaked as well? As for me, I got a proper soaking on Friday afternoon. I'd finished work early and it was a nice day, so I got changed from my work uniform into my brand new pink and white leather trainers, white ankle socks, 3/4 length black cotton and lycra leggings, cotton and lycra knickers, a sports bra, stretch skinny-fit tight t-shirt and my luminous pink hoodie top. I went out for a jog, but when I got home I was pretty hot, and despite having on my brand new trainers that cost me 60 Euros, and which I'd only had for three days, the temptation to cool off in the pool was too much, so I jumped straight in at the deep end wearing everything! It felt fantastic, and I'm pleased to say I don't regret 'christening' my new trainers in that way :) I'm certainly getting more daring, as I wouldn't usually have done that wearing brand new shoes or boots, especially expensive ones like those :) Anway, hope you've had a lovely weekend, and I look forward to hearing from you again as always. Your good friend, Sharon. xx

  3. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Just a quick post to say I've not been ignoring anyone, but as of when the site owners did the update, I've been unable to log in as it appears they corrupted my password in the process. Hope all's well, and I'll be in touch with a proper post soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  4. Hi Megan, I'm glad you found the nail polish, but I'd seriously recommend you get it. It's a lovely shade of pink in the bottle, but trust me, it looks even nicer when it's on your finger or toenails, or both  And for a mere £7, it's well worth it, as even if you did your nails with it once a fortnight, the bottle would still last for at least a year. When you break that down financially, it works out at just 58p a month, and that's if it lasted only a year. I've had bottles of that size which I use all the time last me nearly two years, so it could work out as little as 29p a month! As for your incident at the beach the other day, firstly I'd like to say I'm glad that you were safe and everything was okay, but as for the getting wet part of it, you said you had to wade thigh-deep to get back to the shore. What were you wearing on your bottom half, from the waist down, and did you have far to walk home with your bottom half soaking wet? As for your question to me regarding my pool, yes, I have been in it several times over the last few weeks, usually on weekends and when I get home after work during the week, whenever the wind is not up. Outfits have ranged from hoodies with a tight tee-shirt underneath with skinny jeans or jeggings, with tights worn under them and fur-lined suede Ugg boots to trainers, slouch socks, leggings, sports top and a zip-through top, to fully-lined skirt suits with a satin blouse, thick opaque tights and black leather zip-up knee-length boots :mecry: I'll almost certainly be going in after work tomorrow, providing the weather holds. Anyway, must get on. Look forward to hearing from you again as always. Regards, Sharon. xx

  5. Hi Megan, Did you find the particular colour of nail polish I mentioned, and did you decide to buy it? Like you, my toes are rarely seen by anyone else, as I'm usually always in thick opaques and boots. However, as you said, it's nice knowing that under those tights are pretty pink toes  Have you had any new wet feet experiences recently? If so, what type of shoes/ boots and tights were you wearing, and how did it happen? Hope to hear from you again soon as always? Regards, Sharon. xx

  6. Hi Megan and Sangue, Megan, the property I own in Cornwall has an outdoor heated pool, but the property in Germany also has one, the only difference being I rent my house here in Munich. As for your question, I have to say I like all three equally as much. The feeling of jumping in, going under, and then coming up completely soaked through to my bra and knickers within a few seconds is fantastic, as is swimming, floating, climbing out and diving back in etc. I also love the feeling when I climb out with all the water sheeting off me, especially when I'm wearing a lot of clothes including a coat or a puffa jacket etc  Sangue, as for your question regarding skirt or dress length in respect of wearing boots with them, there is no set "rule", as it's all down to personal preference. That being said, I'm basing this on the usual trends for European and English women. I have no idea how fashion trends tend to be in the USA. I personally tend to wear a classic lined and straight-cut pencil skirt with a back button, zip and vent, with lengths ranging from 18" to a maximum of 21". As I have a 33" inside leg measurement, an 18" skirt only comes to around mid-thigh, and I tend to wear these when I have opaque tights and court shoes on, as this really shows off my long, slim legs. However, when I wear knee-length boots, I find the ideal skirt length to be around 20" or 21". When standing up, the bottom of the skirt is just above my knees, and when sitting down is around 2" above my knees. This typically (when standing) has a visible gap between the bottom of my skirt and the tops of my boots of around 3 - 5" where only my tights are visible. Like I said, this is only a personal preference, but I have seen many other women wearing the same kind of outfit setup as myself. The only thing I will say for certain is that if you have ankle boots, only wear them with a full ankle-length skirt or with smart trousers or bootcut jeans, as I find that wearing ankle boots with a short skirt, or even a knee-length one, looks awful. Again, this is only my fashion preference. I have seen a few girls of the Goth/Emo type wearing ankle boots with fishnet tights and a short skirt, but I think it looks all wrong LOL! Anyway, must get on. Hope you're all having a great weekend and look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  7. Hi Megan and Sangue, Firstly, I'd like to wish you (and the rest of the gang) a happy Easter weekend  Megan, thanks for the compliments hun, and it's funny you mention about that woman swimming cothed in a pool, as I had my pool cleaned and re-filled for the summer season just yesterday, and seeing as I didn't have to work today, I ran and jumped in it after work yesterday for the first time since it was drained for the winter at the end of last September. It felt SO nice! I had on a pair of black genuine leather 3" heel knee-length boots, 140d black tights, a very tight knee-length lined pencil skirt, a white short-sleeved satin blouse and black lined jacket to match the skirt, and cotton@lycra bra and panties set. Swimming in it felt simply amazing, especially after having that outfit on all day at work. Oh, and Megan, I too paint my toenails bright pink. A friend of mine sent me some nail polish from Boots in England. It's Boots' own 'No. 7' brand called 'Me! Me! Me!', colour code 250 in their 'Stay Perfect' range. She said they were £7. If you have a Boots store near you, I'd recommend you check it out. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  8. Hi Sangue and Megan, I just read your post about laddering all your sheer tights. As Megan says, you could spray them with hairspray, however that does tend to make them sticky and it can make you itch a lot. However, if you really like wearing sheers, I would suggest that you buy ones that have a high lycra (spandex) content of at least 7%, and make sure you buy ones that have a gusset and reinforced toe. These will typically last for around 20 wearings and washings (hand washed only). However, as you know, I live in opaque tights only, so if you want any advice on those type of tights feel free to ask  Regards, Sharon. xx

  9. Hi Sangue and Megan, Just a very brief post, as I'm off out shortly but thought I'd pop in here to wish you a great weekend. Sangue, yeah, the boots you chose are definitely the kind I usually go for  I'm glad to hear that you're getting more and more into boots now. As you know, I wear them all year round. It's great, as you can dress them up or down according to the rest of the outfit. For example, with opaque tights, a pencil skirt, blouse and jacket for work or formal do's; or with leggings/jeggings or skinny jeans with a brightly-coloured hoodie top for a casual yet feminine look. Anyway, like I said, just a short post, and look forward to hearing fom you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  10. Hi Sangue and Megan, Sangue, wow! Just had a look at the picture of your boots. I must say, they are very me! In fact, they look very like two or three of my own pairs! What is the heel height on them? From the picture, the heels look about 4". Oh yeah, in answer to your question, no, I don't bother to unzip, I prefer to just pour down either the side or the back of my boots. I like the feeling of the cool water running down my tights and legs and then completely filling the foot part of the boots. Also, I love the feeling of wriggling my toes in soaked tights and boots, and feeling the water move in and out between my toes :wavey: Megan, glad to hear you cooled your feet down the Sharon way. What size glass did you use? As with any boots with a zip, you can only fill them from the toe to the ankle bone, as any more will simply drain out through the zips. Also, what colour and denier tights were you wearing? Did anybody hear your feet squishing and squelching in your wet boots when you were walking? Anyway, hope to hear from you both again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  11. Hi Megan and Sangue, Sangue, thanks for the compliment saying that I'm becoming your fashion guru here :wavey: And yeah, a major shopping spree with you would be fun. If you're having trouble finding shoes or boots that you like then try going on ebay.com (the USA version of the site) and set the search parameters to Clothes and shoes >>> Womens >>> Boots >>> All types and then select your size, then select the 'Buy It Now' option/tick box, and lastly select your min and max budget, for example min $10 and max $100. Then tap Search. It should bring up several pages of women's boots in all different styles from leg height and colour to heel and toe styles. The reason I said to select 'Buy It Now' is that with that option checked, you don't have to bid on the item(s). Most items have more than one image, and are generally in very good condition or in some cases never worn. You also have the option to contact the seller if you hav any other questions. I'm sure you will find something there that takes your fancy. Let me know how you get on hun. And by the way, many congrats on getting the job! Megan, thanks for re-posting the link, this time it worked. I had a look at them, and for your - if you don't mind me saying - 'funky and hippie' style of dress I can certainly say they're very you :) they're just the kind of thing I can picture you wearing. I have some wedge-heeled boots with 3" and 4" wedges, but mine don't have the platforms and are full-length knee boots in plain colours like classic black and dark brown etc. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you both again soon (and any of the rest of our gang who are reading this). Regards, Sharon. xx

  12. Hi Megan, With regards to those shoes/boots you posted about, you said it says to avoid contact with liquids. What are they made of? I haven't been able to look at them, as the web address (URL) you posted doesn't work. From personal experience, I've found that almost any shoe or boot, whether it's leather, suede leather, plastic or even fabric, can withstand a heck of a lot of total submerge dunkings in either hot or cold water, even when labels say to avoid contact with water. Anyway, sorry I haven't posted for a few days, but haven't had much in the way of news to post lately. Well, hope to hear from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  13. Hi Megan, Thanks for the compliments on my outfits. Yours sounded nice too. I'm glad you took my advice on the knee boots and black opaques for a leg-lengthening effect. I've recommended it to many shorter women in the past, and they all agree that it works. It has the same effect with me; it makes me look like I've got legs that go on forever. Anyway, sorry this is a short post, I'm getting ready for a night out. Hopefully I'll be able to post what I decide to wear next time I pop on. Hope you're having a great weekend, and look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  14. Hi gang, Firstly I'd like to welcome back Jane, it sure has been a long while hun. Megan, yeah, I'm lucky. I think I was kind of born organised. Pillar-box red is a bold colour, but I carry it very well. It also goes great with black. For example, a few weeks ago when I went out on the Saturday, I wore black leather knee-length boots with a 3" block heel, my bright red 70 denier opaques, a short black pencil skirt, a tight fitted red scoop-necked top and my black cropped-length velvet jacket. I got a lot of positive comments about that outfit :wavey: The following weekend I decided to reverse it, and wore my red leather knee boots with similar heel, black 140 denier opaques, my red pleated mini, a black version of the red scoop-necked top and my red zip-through top zipped only halfway so as to expose the black top under it. Again, I received a lot of positive comments regarding the whole outfit. Anyway, let me know what you think, and as always, look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. PS Sangue, good luck following your job interview, I hope you get the position you applied for.

  15. Hi Megan, Regarding your question about colours, yes, like you I too own tights in pretty much every colour bar yellow. For work, my favourite colours are navy blue, bottle green, chocolate brown, dark grey and of course classic black. However, I do also have my array of colours, with everything from bold pillar-box red to royal blues and deep purples. Then I have my pastel colours that I usually wear with pale denim shorts or a pale denim mini. These colours include strawberry bonbon-pink, pastel baby-blue etc. I have such a large quantity and range of tights as I always wear them. I honestly can't remember the last time I didn't have tights on, other than to get changed or shave my legs. Lastly, you mentioned that you just stuff all yours in a drawer. I however am what you might call a perfectionist, and like everything 'just so'. Therefore all my tights are either neatly folded or rolled up, all in colour order, and in two drawers of my chest of drawers. The top drawer is for all my thick, dark-coloured opaques (100 denier minimum), and the second drawer houses all my bold colours on the left side, and all my pastels on the right. I like to be very organised and tidy: this helps, as everything has its own place, so I always know exactly where things are going to be. Anyway, must get on. Look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  16. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Glad to hear you obtained some rose-scented candles :wavey: and the outfit you wore in the bath sounds nice. Were the feet of your tights OK wearing them in a warm bath with those green shoes on, as I would have thought the shoes would have run dye? Yellow opaques, did they look good on you? As it's the only colour of tights that I don't possess, probably because every time I try and picture what they would look like on me, I just get visions of two long bananas LOL! Anyway, sorry this post is rather short, but hope you had a good weekend and look foward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  17. Hi Megan, With regards to brightening up such a dull month, there is one easy way. Simply keep the house warm with your central heating and plan several different baths. You can then wear as many summery outfits as you like, and keep warm in the process. Also, maybe surround the bath with flower-scented candles ie rose, jasmine, passionflower etc. Anyway, let me know what you think, and hope to hear from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  18. Hi gang, Megan, I'm glad you were pleased with the advice I gave you, and glad you found what you wanted in Shoe Zone :wavey: Also glad to hear you managed to buy two pairs the same. Nice to hear that you had a bath in them with a nice pair of thick opaques. It must have felt lovely. I love doing it with new boots on. I remember last summer jumping in my pool wearing a brand new pair of expensive trainers that were less than a day old and, two days later, jumping in again wearing a pair of black leather knee boots that cost me 95 Euros. Swimming in them felt so naughty, yet so much fun, as the boots weren't even a week old! I'm glad you like the feeling of the water running back out of your boots and 'up' your tights. Now you've done it in hot, I would recommend trying it with cold. Best thing would be to deep fill a large bucket anf put your feet in with your boots on, and a pair of 300 denier opaques. It feels a lot diferent to doing it in a hot bath, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the feeling. Sangue, with regards to your questions, I'd say I enjoy the feeling of getting my boots/shoes and socks/tights wet as much as I enjoy the temperature change, be it either hot or cold. Regarding your second question, usually I prefer the feel of cool or cold water rushing in, as when I've had boots or trainers on all day with thick tights, and sometimes socks over them, my feet get very hot, so the feeling of the cold water going in is extremely refreshing. Anyway, sorry I haven't replied faster, but I've had a busy weekend, and I've only just had the chance to sit down and catch up on here. As always, I look forward to hearing from you again soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  19. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), Thank you for the compliments. Those pink DM's you mentioned sound cool :wavey: As for Shoe Zone, yes, they do sell quite a few schoolgirl-style shoes (although they look fine on a grown woman as well), but they also have a good range of women's calf and knee-length boots in various colours and vrious heel styles and heights. As for the underwear, avoid lacy bras and panties as they don't feel very good to get soaked in. Cotton/lycra feels lovely, but equally lovely in a different way are the silky satin types, so I would advise on maybe getting a matched set of that type. If you have a Primark near you, they do some really nice bra and panty sets for around just £5. Also, try a padded t-shirt bra. These feel great when soaked, as the padding absorbs a lot of water. Anyway, let me know how you get on with the boots and underwear shopping. I'm sure there will be a few nice relaxing baths to be had in the coming weeks. Look forward to hearing from you soon, Regards, Sharon. xx

  20. Hi Megan (and the rest of the gang), The bath you had sounded great, and a nice choice of outfit to get soaked in. What denier were the opaque tights you wore, and did you do it with cotton or satin feel underwear on? (They both feel very different when worn soaked or worn submerged in the water.) I'm glad to hear you found £50 :wavey: Before I give you any advice on where and what to buy, please do check your account and find out where it came from, and for what reason it was deposited there. For example, if you receive any form of benefits, or council payments for housing etc., be sure that you were entitled to that £50 payment, because if the payment was made in error and is discovered, you will be legally obligated to pay it back. That being said, if you are entitled to it, then it's time to have some fun :) Last time I was in England, there was a national high street chain of shoe shops called 'Shoe Zone'. I'm pretty certain that they're still going, as I've just checked their website and that still exists. They sell some very stylish shoes and boots at extremely good prices. The average price for a decent pair of knee-length boots in one of their stores is around just £25, so with the £50 you've got you could get yourself two different pairs or, if there's one particular pair you really like the design of, then buy two pairs the same. Keep one pair in its box and put them in storage (in an airing cupboard, under your bed etc.), and wear the other pair. That way, when the pair you wear becomes worn out after a year or two, you can open the second pair and get another year or two's wearing out of them. Four years of usage for £50 I would say is a bargain. The reason I suggest buying two pairs the same is not just for the reasons I mentioned above, but more because shoe shops on the whole change their range around every three months, so if you buy a pair of boots and find yourself wearing them a lot, by the time you decide to go and buy a second pair they've either sold out of your size, or discontinued that style. Speaking of size, you'll be pleased to know that 90% of their range are sold in UK sizes 3 - 9 (the other 10% are sold in sizes 4 - 8 ). If, however, you find a really nice pair, but the smallest they do them in is a 4, then try them on anyway, as they may only be a little bit bigger than what you require, in which case just wear a pair of socks over your tights with them and they should be okay. Anyway, hope my advice will help you. Good luck, and let me know how you get on. Regards, Sharon. xx

  21. Hi gang, Megan, yeah, you're right, if you want to stay dry in them they're not very practical, and yeah, it would be easier just to buy proper boots, and maybe wear leg warmers with them. That was a funny thought that you mentioned, about using glue to attach leg warmers to ankle boots LOL. Chat soon. Regards, Sharon. xx

  22. Hi gang, Megan, yeah, I have seen that film and vaguely recall that line. It was obviously an exaggeration, as in order to have that much length over both legs, you'd need to be about 7' tall! I have a total leg length of 66". I'm glad you agree with my advice regarding buying knee boots. And yes, you're right, wedges are another good option, and wearing different colour opaque tights is a great way to keep he look different. I do this all the time, and have at least a dozen different colours and quite a few patterns ie diamond, chevron, spiral etc. Sangue, I don't possess any such boots as those you mentioned. I'm assuming you mean the ones that look like knitted 'Ugg' style calf-length flat slouch boots? If so, then I have seen quite a few girls wearing such styles lately. I may get some just to get wet in, but they have a good and a bad side. The good side is that they'd get soaked very quickly, along with your socks and/or tights, but on the bad side they'll leak like a sieve and won't hold any water inside, but they should be fun to walk through deep puddles in, or step into the bath wearing :wavey: Anyway, look forward to hearing from you all as always, Regards, Sharon. xx

  23. Hi gang, Sangue, thank you for the noce compliments, and you're right, it would be an interesting sound, us walking together with our various leg lengths and our various heel heights and types :wavey: Megan, thanks hun. Yeah, I'm always told that my legs are probably my greatest asset, and I live in either short skirts with tights and boots or leggings over tights with boots, so either way my legs are always on show :) I'm glad to hear that you're wanting to start wearing heeled boots now. You could stick with colour, but personally I would start with a classic black leather knee boot with either a 2.5 or 3" block heel. They're timeless, and can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion and outfit. They can also give the illusion of making you look taller, not just because of the heel but also they can make your legs appear longer, especially if you wear black opaques with them. Anyway, I'm just finishing work, so best be getting on. Look forward to hearing from you as always. Regards, Sharon. xx
