I also hate it when labels are left on the bottom of shoes, but probably my biggest pet hate is anything other than cigarettes in the ashtray. Thats right I'm a smoker!

I'm very much into astronomy and I can't say that I noticed the big dipper (URSA Major) get any bigger or smaller. Somtimes on it's side or upside down but I've never noticed much difference in the size but hey I'm not the most observant of people. Side note if you look at Orion then the star top left of the constellation is called beetleguese and it has an orange glow. This is because it is one of the most massive stars that we have found, a red giant, and it is expected to go supernova in the not too distant future (in the scheme of things). Also if you look at the star in the middle of of what would be Orions sword, this is not actually a star but the Andromeda Galaxy our closest neighbour and also it's on a collision course with the Milky Way. Just some info I thought you might find intersesting! =)

I've taken stiletto heels abroad a few times. Once in Manchester I even got stopped by customs (had a little too much tobacco) and they went through my baggage with the heels and all in and they decided to let me go as I wasn't taking the proverbial with the tobacco. Not a mention of anything to do with the heels! So I would say that it's safe to assume that airport security have bigger fish to fry!

yeah I have noticed myself doing this, exactly how your describe. I also notice myself at work, we have to go outside to smoke and I normally stand in the same place i.e. on the edge of the kerb with heel of my foot on the kerb and the ball of my foot about 4-5 inches below. Anyone else have any bizarre heel related habit?

forgot to say that they operate a dress code so that was the reason for so many heels!!

Also I can recomend going to a horse race meeting, i went to Haydock recently and spent more time oogling heels than watching the races!

A few years ago I went out omn the motorbike (bandit 600) wearing 4 inch heels and I got pulled over by the cops!! They were just doing random checks as there had been a lot of bike theifs at the time. As soon as my credentials checked out I was on my way but with a very red face. I've never done it since!

I'm playing Tiger Woods golf on the PS3 at the moment. I never really play games on the PC. Gaming is much comfier(is that a word?) on the settee in front of the telly in 4 inch stilettos!

i love punk and metal and recently aquired a bright red mohawk! That should keep the eyes off my heels anyways!

Your level of discomfort would certainly be minimized if you play only 9 holes. In addition to being half the walking distance, it takes a lot less time - about 3 hours. 3 hours?? What you playing with a broom handle?? Sorry no offence meant, I play 18 holes in that time but then again my game isn't that great!

As stated earlier I took the plunge on street heeling a few weeks back and then bottled it last week mainly because Preston is much closer to home than Manchester. As kneehighs suggests for all of us in the NW the heelmeet in London would be a great place to take the plunge with lots of heel friendly people in a place(London) where you a never gonna bump into anyone you know. I think to myself ' I can get on train and go streetheeling aroung Manchester then surely I can go as far a field as London'. Some of us could even meet up and travel together! Me and the Mrs were planning a weekend in London at some point as I've never been ( I heard the streets are paved with gold! lol ) The weekend of the heelmeet would be like squishing 2 birds with one stiletto! I will have to discuss it with the Mrs. nearer the time.

Stiletto golf shoes, now there's an idea! As for the the stiletto flippers! You ever tried walking in flippers? flippers with a 4" heel now thats a challenge! lol

yup i was confused too it appears. I voted for pumps when they are in fact my faves and as for worst i gotta agree with thedesigner. I'll also throw in ugg boots to the list of hates

well today I want to preston and well... I bottled it at the last minute. God damn nerves!! although i did do some shoe shopping and tried on many pairs in different shops. All the shop staff were very nice and one girl in particular had a nice chat with me. I started by asking who the were for and I said they were for me and then she asked how come they are for me? A party right? No I said I just like to wear high heeled shoes. The young lady said that the style I choose looked great on me and that if women can were mens shoes then why not vice versa. Anyway due to not have the funds at the moment I had to decline the shoes (there were expensive). I thanked the lady for her help and she replied no problem come back any time. That put a big smile on my face and I wish I had not bottled it in the first instance now. I'll try to be braver next time!

I meant to add earlier that all these places have been right in the city/town centre. Like many other have posted I think where there is a large population of people in one place they are only interested in their own agenda and don't seem to notice others. I too would think twice about street heeling on the outskirts of town. Thanks again for your comments

Yeah I agree, shop staff not bothered at all they probably get men trying heels on a lot more than you think. At least they seemed at ease anyway. Tried shoes on various different shops (there are lots of them) didn't feel uncomfortable at all, got a few looks of other customers every now again but who cares. It's not against the law. I did have my brave head on though! I have been street heeling in Blackpool too, I think a few more people noticed but still nothing to worry about, no comments. Shop staff, no reaction to sometimes helpful. I'll let you know how i get on in Preston. Thanks for your comments
