  1. I am so in love with my new pair.....

    You want to see them?

So let´s look, what´s inside the box?

    box.jpg

For a long time I have been looking for a perfect pair of thigh boots. And now I have them :cheeky:

    box2.jpg

These  are amazing boots. What makes me feel a little bit sad, is the fact, that these quality level is these days very hard to find. 100% ultra soft leather & leather sole. Yes there are some great brands out there - but I you don´t want to spend 1000+ USD/Euros, you have to search/hunt... This kind of quality makes the fun when wearing them. I think they will be a great conversation starter when going out :cheeky:

  2. Back again!

The summer is over and now it´s boot time again :-)

So this fall took the next step and invested some money into a great pair of boots. Very high - not the heels - and great to create some edgy styles. Here is the first one.

    thigh_front.jpg

    thigh_back.jpg

This is some basic stuff: blouse/shirt & jeans are from the women´s department at Uniqlo. The black long sleeve is from COS.

  3. Here are my new - I am so in love - booties. They are all leather and are very easy to walk in.

The story behind these boots is, I was looking for an upgrade to my new dress from Rad Hourani. And these booties from Ma & Lo match perfectly with the structure in the dress.

If you want to see the booties in "action", you should look to this topic here.

Pushing the style: booties, hosiery & dress - that´s what this post is about :cheeky:

    ================

    Hi guys,

after some really busy weeks - lot of work, moving finally to Berlin and therefore decluttering my old apartment - I found some time to create a new post. Of course there could be more pics, but this post is only the beginning.

Inspired by JeffB I was looking to push my style a little bit to a more feminine look. Some weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to buy two items from Rad Hourani. His designs are genderless. I always liked his creations and also already had some items, but when I got the chance to buy a trench coat and a dress, I had to spend the money on this two amazing items.

The trench coat is a killer item. Amazing quality and very good to combine. I am mixing it with sneakers & skinny black jeans for daily wear, but also a litte more edgy with chunky booties. So this is my first style:

    rad2.JPG

It is what I would call these days a "feel good style". Easy to walk in heels, 100den hosiery and it brings up the concept of genderless style very good. I had already some outings with this style and I have to say, that wearing things you like and that gives you a "wow feeling" is a key to push your limits & your style.

After getting used to this basic look, I wanted to make the look a little bit more edgy. Basically I am so in love with the dress and the coat, that the only thing would be, to make the look a little bit more "sharp" was to give it a little bit of feminine touch. When I was shopping two weeks ago wearing this outfit, I went to one of my preferred shoe shops and the sales assistant - who already knows me - challenged me, when I told here that I was looking for some "upgrade" to my outfit.  The result: pointy booties with stiletto heel.

These booties from Ma&Lo are so easy to walk in. Like with the dress and the trench: spending some extra bucks is often the best thing you can do. Feeling in love with this booties, I left the shop and went to buy a pair of more transparent hosiery to match the new booties to the rest of my outfit. 50 denier was the right style and so I could finish my outfit.

Next thing? Going out and enjoy life.

I tend to like taller boots :penitent:, to that end you might consider pairing it with your Sendra boots and matching scarf.

    You asked - I deliver :-)

Here we go: let´s take the look in two different directions. Low & high. Black & red. Everyday & stylish.

Same outfit - different looks :cheeky:

  6. WOW 1000+ VIEWS

    Thank you to all!

Now it´s time to change one thing: pants! Yes, now it´s dress time :cheeky:

I bought this dress some weeks ago and first wore it with my grey leather leggings. Then I wanted to get the look a little more sophisticated and there it was: some black 100 den pantyhose. I went for quality and bought these from Falke . A little bit more expensive, but great quality - perfectly matching this dress from COS & my Vic Matié booties.

Want to be cool? Than add some Ray Ban sunglasses & a nice scarf.

Comfortable and not over top well done.

While it is a good try i would feel the boots though comfortable are too tight along the leg to keep the leather leggings inside from looking stuffed or bulging... Would contrast the outfit with some colour, yet you say, not make it "sissy". Feel some contrast would bring some pop to the outfit rather making it to monotone, or safe. Try a cream color scarf or white thick fluffy sweater... Maybe dark green leather leggings would work better if your choosing the pastel colour styles. Only suggestion no problem what you have on.... Fashion is always personal and to every individuals taste...

Feel whenever someone wears leather leggings their dressing up rather being casual. So my opinion or taste follows to wear sharp booties, and yes stiletto heels do that....

@MackyHeels: stilettos are always great. So here we go: I found this pic from some months ago, when I dressed up to go out. IMG_stil.thumb.jpg.6296dc4160a3585fa584d

So you see: adding a little thing can sharpen the look very fast ;-)

I like the outfits, and I presume you wear them for your daily life?

How have the people around you reacted so far? Lots of love, compliments on your great choices? I hope so!

I would love to see how you can combine something different from boots with a nice outfit.

These are styles I wear in daily life. Not every day, but 2-3 times a week.

As I always match things and don't push the things too far, the reactions are either "nothing", "no emotions - but they see it", "smiling - and I do not care if positive or negative" to some "compliments". A typical day out will create one or two compliments - mostly when I go looking for fashion inspiration in shops. For me this is the key to create self trust, when wearing heels.

  9. Part 3:

This is now about going more into feminine style without being sissy-like. My favorite grey stretch leather leggings are the core of this look. Last week I bought these amazing booties from a small shoe shop. I felt from the first second on in love with is amazing booties. Super soft leather, leather sole and easy to walk in. So I mixed leggings and booties with a sweater and a nice matching scarf. Here we are: a soft & relaxed weekend look.

  10. Part 2:

As the first look is a very "conservative" easy to adapt look, next look is a little bit more edgy. I bought these boots a few years ago. They are from the Sendra, a brand from Spain. Again here I try to mix and match. Instead of creating a casual look, I try to be a little more "classy".

    pre1.thumb.jpg.075490e562c76cfbc0235a14e

Making the boot visible is the key idea. OK - you can hide the boot to become a little bit more comfortable, when wearing heels, but you loose often the style. So this look is now what I call a "daily heels attitude" look.

  11. Hi folks,

this post is about creating your style, becoming used to wear heels as a part of your (daily) style and having a good time ;-)

Before I start: this is the first posting of a series of posts, where I will show my styles and hopefully motivate you to go out and have fun in heels.

My story is quite long. Starting with 20, when I bought my first pair of heels (too high; too loose fit), then hiding away my boots from my girl friend to a phase, when I was 30 where I started to try to create what you could call "your style".

I know, that for many of you wearing heels in daily life is not as easy as it is for me. But: I think and I got the feedbacks that if your wear heels with style and attitude, things are more easy - and this is what this topic is about.

So let´s start! My experience is that cowboy boots are a great starting point. You can tell a story about them - like about great boot makers like Paul Bond. So it is not only about wearing heels, it is about a story! A cowboy boot outfit can be quite easy to create. I like my shirts not tucked into the jeans, because I like a silhouette that is "flowing". So here is my first look:

    red.thumb.jpg.1b40f00a19947640132733df46

Creating your style is about matching things. Here it is a colour - in this case red. A litte bit of more fancy than simple brown boots, these cowboy boots are easy to walk in, have a nice heel and are great for every day. So here is the look:

    red1.thumb.jpg.abc79f23b6c1fee436f7a54ac

These days my outfits are more edgy - but as I wrote, I want to help you to create your style and give you some starting inspiration. By the way the jeans is a bootcut male jeans from Levis - style 517. The boots are from Lucchese.

Personally, I liked the booties more. The shaft of the knee high boots looks a little baggy on you (not at the top, just around the middle of the shaft), which I personally don't like. I like knee-high boots to basically cling to my leg. If they are too baggy, I let my cobbler adjust them. Doesn't work for all boots, sometimes he also tells me that this will be quite a lot of work, but he even himself noted once that "wow, they really look much better".

Also because of the suede, I think that the booties match very well with the black jacket. I am always just not so sure whether to put the jeans over the edge of the ankle bootie or stuff it inside. Most of the time I wear the jeans over the booties.

Are these Louboutins? Just curious. Buffalo produced some booties for a while that also had a red sole, but I am not sure whether they still make them.

The booties are from Buffalo. These boots are a real deal. Great leather, nice heel and super easy to walk in. The only downside is, that they have a PU sole. I think you can still buy them at Buffalo stores. And if you find them online: they run quite small. So taking the next size up will be the better choice.

True story: Net-a-porter was selling Karl Lagerfeld shearling lined wedge booties back in Februray 2015.
At some point, they only had ONE size 41 left in stock, but kept the price of a hefty 545 Euro (591 USD). I emailed them whether they would be willing to reduce the price by 20 %, as I would be willing to buy them at that reduction. They replied and told me that I can either buy at full price or leave it. Early March, the boots were still online, and from one day to the next, they were "no longer available (this article has been sold out and is no longer available).

    kl1_zpsnpgyznbh.jpg

I know that theoutnet often sells stuff that wasn't sold on netaporter at a much reduced price. So I kept looking on that site whether they would reappear, but they didn't. At some point, I stopped looking at that site. Few days ago, I receive an email from the outnet, titled "Jetting off this season? Shop winter city break essentials by Tory Burch, Stella McCartney & more". I clicked on their link, and in the "new additions" category, I found the Karl Lagerfeld pair in size 41. ONLY in size 41. One pair. Last pair. Sounds familiar? Riiiiiiiiiight. Price? 208 Euros (226 USD). Yeeeeeeeesssssss !!!!!!

    And here they are....

    kl2_zpsd7aekj5e.jpg

According to the site, they fit small, but I think that they fit TTS... just perfect :-)

Cool booties. These would be great here for the upcoming winter in Berlin. As I have some deeper high fashion e-commerce insights, it is no wonder to find them at theoutnet. Be happy that they were not recommerced by yoox

  14. Hi folks,

hope you are all fine. The last weeks were very busy, but today I have some off-time ;-) So I just wanted to say thank you to all of you and provide some inspiration. Same shirt, same grey leather legging - by the way these days my absolute favorite statement piece - and same scarf. Plus: as I am dressing a little bit more formal a blazer. So which look/combination do you folks prefer?

Look 1: knee high boots & wool blend blazer
Look 2: suede booties & velvet blazer

  15. I have definitely reached the point where buying shoes in a store - no matter which type - has just become business as usual. Probably also the way I was dressed made it easier of course).

I like the boots ;-) Great style!

I mostly buy in store. I never had any bad reactions. The first time I wanted to try some boots at KaDeWe (an upper class department store) I thought it is difficult, but I just had to realize: it´s no problem.  The key is being confident. And: being styled the right way. This makes it easier, because when you want to try the shoes, it is obvious that they are for you.

  16. ANDROgenius,

Great boots. What brand and where did you get them?

The boots are from Boss from the Boss Orange line. They are a little bit older - I think from 2012/2013 and are called "Marjise". I bought them in the end of season sales and forgot them, because at this time I had nothing really matching. But now with my new poncho I have all I need.

  17. Most interesting boots...  Please tell us a little more about them (like where you got them).

The boots are from Biondini - amazing quality from Italy. But I think this company is out of business these days

It´s a shame that quality becomes more and more difficult to find. It´s easy to spend a fortune for luxury brands - but getting real leather (not cheap PU or stinky pig leather) becomes more and more difficult, when you want to have quality. For example leather soles. Or leather lining.

I am so happy with these boots. Some years ago I found them in other styles - higher heel or lower length - but I did not buy. As I was looking this summer for a pair of this style I had to figure out, that you can´t find them anymore - expect this one and only pair. :giggle:

  18. Here is my look from today. I am in love with my poncho :-) I think it will be my signature piece this season.

Let´s look what reaction I will get   Going out on monday was a great experience. My female coworker liked my look very much. And she was even a little bit jealous when she touched the amazing quality of my new leather leggings.

My advise is: start with heels that are easy to walk in. Spend a little bit  of time on matching your look and then go out!

  19. Not really new - but I forgot that I had bought these boots two years ago and only worn them one time. So I declare them new ;-)

I will match them with my new poncho these days as they match perfectly

how could your forget that you had purchased such a gorgeous pair of boots?

Two years ago I simply could not find any matching scarf, knit wear and even bag. So they went into my storage. On saturday I finally found the perfect match with the poncho.

  20. Autumn is finally here. So I spent some time on shopping. The result: a poncho and some amazing leather leggins in dark grey. A pure statement piece. Initially I was looking for some boots, but I ended buying these two key pieces ;-)

I am going out for sushi tonight, meeting a former female coworker who knows about my fashion style, but hasn´t seen me in heels yet 8-)

  21. Hi Ias,

heeling opportunities come and go. My point of view is that it could work. To ensure this you should "test the waters". Start talking about dressing for the events. If she likes David Bowie, show her this Google pic search  , if she like 80´s Rock/Heavy Metal music, show her this or that . If she like Prince - no problem: here you are . In the case you want to go wild: here you are  . Not far enough? Try this one (RIP Lux Interoir from The Cramps - godfather of a wild life)

Be prepared! Know what you will need. A wig from from Amazon, some 70´s/80´s vintage clothes. Dress to impress!

Regarding the two opportunities you mentioned: I think the first step is to know and ensure that it will a "wild party"! This is about her reputation. Make her feel comfortable. Make her your partner in crime

If testing the waters does not work: how about the fetish scene? Or the goth scene?

Please update me on your thoughts!

  22. This look is a little more edgy.

Chapeau! - I like that look very much. Since the start of the ESPRIT #ImPerfect campaign (at least in Germany), I have been thinking about a fur vest as well, but ended up buying the H&M fur jacket that they currently sell. So I am completely with you on the fur part.

When temperatures drop a little more, I would exchange the blazer against a heavy knit sweater or a knitted turtleneck sweater (like the one from my clothing stash from Belstaff) that is also longer overall - I think this would improve the overall look.

Do you walk in these heels long distances in Berlin or are these more the type of going-out-to-a-club heels?

The fur vest is a killer piece from Zara.

Exchanging the blazer against a knit sweater is a great idea. And guess what: I was at the point buying the Belstaff turtleneck on sale at Wertheim Village (a factory outlet center) last winter ;-)

Again - great idea & I will post a pic
