  1. Hi all, Walking around the centre of town this morning, wearing a pair of plain 2 inch square heel courts/pumps, I was knocked out by all the gorgeous heels the women were wearing. I was so envious! And yeah, it make them look sexy. The click of heels on concrete was like a Mozart piano concerto to my ears....... I really must get myself some quality 4 inch stillettos! All best wishes, Tosca

  2. Hi all, After returning the wrong shoes, it turns out they don't have the ones I ordered available! I am soooooo disappointed.... Oh well, just have to make the best of it I guess, and look elsewhere. All best wishes, Tosca.

  3. Hi all, Thanks for your comments. However! I was thrilled when my order arrived within 48 hours, and opening the parcel was bordering on the needlessly ceremonial! Devastation! They had sent completely the wrong shoes! I thought I'd been sucked into an alternative universe, or a Wallace and Gromit film: "It's the Wrong Shoes, Gromit old son!" What they had sent was the model 'Brazil' from the Pumps 5 group, with 5 inch gold-effect metal heels! Yuk! Back into the post they went, followed by an email. Hopefully they will sent the right shoes in the next few days. The Red Nose day event I'm planning to wear them for isn't until March 14th, so there is a bit of leeway. Here's hoping! All best wishes, Tosca

  4. Hi all,

I've just bought some new heels, cherry red patent 4 inch roundish heels. They're from Banana Shoes, in the pumps 2 catagory, model is 'Babydoll':

They have a sale on at the moment; these shoes were reduced from £32 to £27!

If I knew how to put the picture on here I would, so if anyone of you can do it, go ahead.

In a couple of weeks the University where I work is holding a departmental quiz for Red Nose Day. It's anticipated there will be upwards of 20 teams, consisting of 6 people, so it will be pretty crowded. And we aim to win! And raise some money....The plan is to wear these shoes then, which should turn a head or two!, no idea what to wear with them, maybe some bootleg jeans, possibly in grey. Maybe a long denim skirt if I'm feeling gutsy enough. I'm going to have to walk there, about 20 minutes, so I need to bear that in mind too.

Should be a fun evening, I can only imagine what comments I can look forward to the next day around the office.......

    All best wishes,

    Tosca.

  5. Hi all, I've been wearing my 2.25 inch block heel ankle boots at work for some time now without any problems at all, lots of compliments though from my female colleagues; I guess men complimenting other men on their footwear isn't something that happens that much...... This is a pretty easy-going environment to work in happily (academic library). I'm constantly interacting with both colleagues and students and it's never been an issue. As I work late on Friday's (until 9.00pm) and things tend to quieten down a bit (managers and supervisors go home!), I've been taking advantage of this to be a little more adventurous; last Friday I changed for the evening shift into a pair of black patent Mary Janes with a 3 inch block heel, and then walked home in them after fininshing. They felt great and no-one seemed to care. For this evening I have my 3 inch black leather pumps/courts with a blade or chisel heel. I usually wear bootcut jeans so a lot of the shoe is hidden anyway, but the heel is still very noticeable. I'll be off to change in an hour or so for the evening. As I was walking home a couple of evenings ago, I saw a member of staff leaving at the same time, a different part of the campus though, probably central admin, and she was wearing the most gorgeous 5 inch heeled 'office shoes', not a pointed heel but not a block either. I would estimate at the base it was about half an inch in diameter and tapering up to the heel, broadening out. She had great legs and walked really well, and you could tell she was really comfortable wearing them, I was so envious! I shall keep my eyes open for her, and if I get the chance I say hi, and ask her where she got them. Sadly for me with feet of size (UK) 11, my options tend to be limited, but things do seem to be improving. I'm looking forward to this evening's work. Happy heeling guys, Tosca

  6. Hi all, I wearing heeled ankle boots most days now for work, chunky square heels 2.5 inch high and they do make quite a pronounced thwack which I was really self-conscious about for a long while; now I actually enjoy it. As a result if I'm wearing a higher, thinner heeled shoe when I'm out in the evening that clicks and clacks loudly on the street, I'm much less bothered by it. I think much of it, unsurprisingly, comes down to confidence, daring to be different and confounding expectations. Wishes, Tosca

  7. Hi all, Whilst I would agree that many of the styles on offer at the site I provided the link for are of a flamboyant nature, if you look around they also have more conservative styles available too. As a UK heels shopper we have far fewer options available than those of you in the US of A, especially for those of us with big feet! Most of my heels are conventional court/pumps styles, but I'm happy to stride out a little more ostentatiously when the occasion permits. All best wishes, Tosca.

  8. Hi all,

I bought a pair of black patent Mary Janes with 3 inch chunky heels last week. They have a very slight platform to cushion the front-foot. They're really comfortable. I got them from http://www.fantasyheels.co.uk/index.html

If you go to footwear, click on shoes, then on 4 inch MJs/Oxford, then scroll down to Gogo-50. The ones in the pic are red patent, but I went for black. UK postage is free!

They look-and feel- terrific. Unfortunately I don't have the means for photos at the moment. I wore them at work Friday evening for a while, then walked home in them to get the feel of them. Since there were no problems I wore them to a classical concert Saturday evening. Absolutely wonderful evening, and I felt so good in my new shoes.

If you are tempted, I recommend you go a size higher than usual though. The width fitting is reasonable generous (my feet are quite wide), but the length isn't.

Last night I had to go out to the shops briefly for some milk. I already had a long denim skirt on, as I tend to do when lounging around at home. I decided to go for it and wore a pair of plain black courts/pumps with a 3 inch chisel/blade heel. Nice and clicky on the walk there and back. Great fun too. No problems from anyone, I'm not even sure if anyone noticed. It's a very busy road, lots of traffic. The shoes only cost me £20.00 from a catalogue and they were bliss to wear from the first moment. I finding I'm getting more and more confident wearing heels as time goes on.

Soon be time to move up to 4 inch heels. I can't wait!

    Happy heeling guys...

    All best wishes,

    Tosca

  9. Hi all, I've been shaving my legs for about 2 years. I've tried epilators but they're not to good. For those who have tried waxing at a salon, how was it? And how long does the smoothness last? I also shave my armpits. Makes a big difference. It feels a lot fresher. All best wishes, Tosca

  10. Hi all, I just bought a pair of ankle boots with 2 1/4 inch block heels. I've put them on today for work, several compliments from people in the office which is nice. They're really comfortable too. I had them delivered to my workplace on Wednesday, couple of days back, because there's nowhere for the postie to leave stuff at home. Since the weather was cats and dogs, I wore them to go home in, stopping off at my local Morrisons for essentials on route. No problems at all. It felt great! I'm not wearing bootcut jeans either so the heels are totally visible. Feels real good wearing them, and being seen wearing them. I may not take them off all weekend! All best wishes, Tosca

  11. Hi all, Here I sit bored out of my wits at the end of a working day, and Lo! There arrives on my desk the new ankle boots I'd ordered from Tall Girls. 2.25 inch heel. Great, and that new boot smell is now pervading the office. Compliments from all concerned, male and female, in the office. Sadly I'm not wearing bootcut trousers so walking home in them probably isn't a ideal. The folks in the office insisted I try them, which I was a bit bashful about, but hey why not. Great response, really cheered me up! All best wishes, Tosca

  12. Hi all, Mikey, what is it about the appearance of the jeans that makes them identifiable as intended for women? I've got my eye on a couple of pairs of women's bootcut trousers, black and grey, to complement my heel-wearing. I'm also planning to buy a long coat for the winter, a 'city-coat' from Long Tall Sally, which should look fabulous with my heeled boots. Bit pricey but I've fallen for it! I went to the store last weekend to try it on, which I suspect made the day of the sales staff! The trousers I'm interested in are also from the same retailler. They also have long, on-the-waist bootcut jeans. All best wishes, Tosca

  13. Hi all, I went out to a concert at the weekend (Beethoven's Ninth), in my new black boots with a 2 1/2 inch block heel. I wore them with an ankle length denim skirt. Really comfortable to wear throughout the evening. I walked to the concert hall, about 20 minutes. Honestly, wearing them was so relaxing and enjoyable, it made me feel good the whole evening. Great experience. They are a joy to walk in and really sharpen up the posture and change, for the better, how one walks. Anyone else notice this effect? Absolutely no adverse comments or reactions from anyone, either on-route or at the concert. I've been out in a similar outfit during daylight hours too, without any problems. All best wishes, Floria Tosca

  14. Hi all,

I've just become the proud owner of a pair of black leather knee-high boots, 2.25 inch block heel, utterly gorgeous, and a perfect fit. They were from Tall Girls. I've tried to post a picture of them from the Tall Girls website but I can't. Sorry.

    Their Website is http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/

and the model is under 'boots', 'classic knee high', TUG31

    All best wishes,

    Tosca

  15. Hi all, Oh I love those shoes! I adore block heels, they're really comfortable and sturdy. I have a pair each in black and in navy with 2.5 inch heels, and another pair of high loafers with 3.5 inch heel. A pleasure to wear, and much less obtrusive in the street while still satisfying one's enthusiasms. Floria Tosca.

  16. Hello, Extraordinary how many of us have the same experiences. I too put on heels and a skirt first thing in the morning while I'm getting ready for the day, usually a couple of hours, then as soon as I get home in the evening it's into a pair of heels and a skirt again. Bliss! The day's hassles fall away....... I really enjoy that quiet period in the morning though, easing my way into the day. There's an additional factor in my case with heels though; I have a slight pelvic tilt which puts varying degrees of pressure on my lower back over the course of the working day. Wearing flats all day seems to exacerbate it. Wearing a heeled shoe helps to relieve it, deliciously. Helps that I love wearing heels, though..... Luckily when I have to work weekends, about once a month, I can indulge myself and wear heels without a problem, and a skirt, around the workplace. Hopefully in time things will relax even more and I can choose freely what to wear. All best wishes Floria Tosca

  17. Thank you Tosca.

Do you know if they run true to size?

I have size 44 eur, according to the American website that is the same as US womens 14, US mens 12, UK 11, while on the English website UK 10 = US 12 and UK 11 = US 13. Which one should I have to order if I go for the English website please?

    Robert

    Hi all,

Robert, I was in touch with Translife (UK) earlier this week about the sizing. They said they may be a little narrow for the average male foot. Other than that consideration, I reckon you can rely on the sizing given.

  18. Hi,

As far as I can tell the brand is 'Eden', not that means a whole lot to me. Maybe Paradise is brought that much closer?

It was on the Translife website where I first saw them, but the other pic is better, and it's from Translife that I shall be buying them.

I'm attending a Prom concert in August at the Albert Hall; I have every intention of wearing them for that. The rest of the outfit will just have to be constructed around them, but will definitely include a long skirt.

  19. Hi all,

I'm new here, nice to be here.

A female goth in my workplace has been wearing some 3 inch heel Mary Janes, black patent. Utterly gorgeous!

I'm getting myself a pair at the end of the month, priced at £40.00. She wears them a lot a work and says they are among the most comfortable shoes she has ever worn.

Here's a pic of them from a US website:

I can't wait to see how they look with a long skirt.

    Best wishes,

  20. Hello, I've just discovered this forum and this is my first post. I've only fairly recently begun wearing heels, and modest ones at that. I guess it came about as a consequence of enjoying wearing skirts, and the one seem to follow naturally and aesthetically from the other. I haven't tried really high heels yet, still getting used to 2 inch block heels, but it does feel very comfortable. I've no doubt I shall progress further along this route and try point heels, etc. I love the way I feel in heels, however low, and I certainly find myself looking more closely at women in their heels, and their skirts. More often with envy than titilation though..... so what does that tell you...... I struggle to find shoes that will fit me, having UK 10 feet. There seems to be much more of a choice available in the US, especially online. I've been experimenting with regular court shoes, but heel slippage seems to be a problem, I guess it's all down to the right fit, as men we always told to go for loose fitting shoes, allowing for socks (Ugh!), whereas this doesn't seem to be the case with women. Sorry if this is all yesterday's news to most of you, I have a long way to go and a lot to learn. Nice to be here, Tosca
