r1g0r Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 i'm hoping somebody here will have some input for me. my wife & i are spending our 20th anniversary in florida from the 17th to the 23rd of august, partly in orlando and partly in/by the keys. we're doing this on a fairly shoestring budget, and i was hoping some of our members would have ideas of cheap but decent lodgings in the area (yeah, i know, cheap in the keys?), and interesting places to visit that aren't part of the usual tourist havens. she's never been to florida, and i've only been there on business trips that didn't allow for much sight-seeing. thanks for any ideas and info guys! society has decided that men will be confined to certain items of clothing, and certain modes of presentation. until we rebel PERSONALLY against this, we are diminished!
bootluvr Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 A Very Happy Booted 20th Anniversary to the BOTH of you, but don't know much about "Keyes" area. 8-D Boots Rock!!!!
CassieJ Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 There are deals on hotel rooms down here in Orlando. Stick to the International Drive, Downtown (more expensive) and Disney area hotels. There are some bad areas of town you should avoid like Pine Hills, Orange Blossom Trail. Have a good time! Let me know if I can assist you with anything. Been here for 20 years.
