Brandy Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 I do not know. We will all know by the end of Feb. the new Survivor 8 will have Richard Hatch appearing in the new Utilikilts 'Survival Kilt'. -+-+-+-+ The Survival Kilt The Survival Utilikilt was originally requested by adventurer par excellence, Vince Hemingson, host of the fascinating 'Vanishing Tattoo series. The prototype had just been completed when another travel adventurer called, hoping to purchase just such a kilt for his upcoming sojourn on a deserted island, somewhere in TV land. The Survival Utilikilt is, in essence, a stunning combination of features, morphed from both our Mocker and Original kilts. Starting at the top, we have added waist band snaps, making a belt not necessary. There is a Key clasp feature, as on the Workman's. There are inside slant pockets just like the Mocker, and the side cargo pockets are detachable; each one having its own closure flap and beltloops on the inside for usage off the kilt. For example, if you're wading through a leech infested swamp and yer mate throws you a wetsuit, you can stuff your kilt into one of its own pockets and loop it through your belt. Each pocket is equipped with elastic rimmed gussets to snap back to a flat shape after usage. The rear pockets are elastic rimmed with gussets as well (not detachable). The Survival Kilt fabric is an 8.2 oz 100% cotton twill with wrinkle resistance and nano-care stain resistance which allows stains to "roll off" the fabric. To maintain the fabric's performance it is highly important that you follow our reccomended care procedure, wash only in cold water and hang to dry. Another brand new feature for this model is a newly designed modesty closure system. This system serves two different purposes. 1. The button / loop simply closes the garment, which will reveal less thigh should a gust of wind catch you off guard going into the subway. 2. It pulls together the front of the kilt to the back, turning it into a pleated culotte type garment. And finally, The maximum capacity on this kilt, is twenty bottles of the survival beverage of your choice, six in the front, slant pockets, ten in the cargo's, and four in the rear. -+-+-+-+ High heeled survival boots anyone? -- Brandy
genebujold Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Not big into Survivor, but it sounds like an interesting and possibly successful way to start the trend! Unless it becomes a passing fad...
