PaRaDeaD Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Hey all! I'm a 17 year old guy from Finland. I was quite surprised about how most people here seem to be quite a lot older than me. Anyway.. I've always been fascinated by heels and thought they're really beautiful but I always thought I "can't" wear them because, well, I'm a guy. But lately I've gained more confidence and watched some inspirational videos on YouTube (haha) which made me realize I have the right to wear whatever I like. Anyway, I've actually never walked on heels yet. I ordered two pairs last week from the US so it'll take a while 'till they arrive. But after reading this forum I got a bit worried. Both of the pairs are 5 inch heel, 1 ½ inch platform. That's a bit high if you've never worn heels before, isn't it? Well, that's enough for introduction, looking forward to get posting.
SleekHeels Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Welcome to the forum and to heels! The first heels I ever walked in were 4" no platform... the first few steps were a bit of a rollercoaster ride (waa-hey!) but I stayed on my feet. Unless you have really small feet the 3½" rise should be ok, but even supermodels have trouble with platforms sometimes. Also it's one thing taking a few steps at home and quite another thing stepping outside and going any significant distance, so build up in stages. Hope your new shoes are a good fit, look great, and a lot of fun! Let us know... If you like it, wear it.
PaRaDeaD Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Thanks for the respond! That's really good to hear! I was worried I'd have to buy another lower pair first, which I can't really afford right now. But my feet aren't particularly small, so I'm sure I'll get the hang of it after some practicing then. And I'll definitely be taking a picture of them when they arrive and put it as my avatar.
