heidi.bier Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Just an interesting tidbit of information I came across as I was reading the news. Researches discovered what they believe to be the world's oldest leather shoe in a cave in Armenia. Armenia is located between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea although its current border touches neither. It was made of a single piece of leather that laced up the front and back and dates back to potentially 3500 B.C. http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/1878044/worlds_oldest_leather_shoe_unearthed_in_armenia/index.html The first high heel didn't appear until approximately the year 1500.
