  1. For the record, would you please clarify where/how Shoerepairer is directing his ego or even expressing an opinion?

When somebody offers good sound advice based on years of experience, do you always see this as some sort of EGO trip?

He is nearly twice your age, does this for a living, since long before you even started your GCSE's, and has been here considerably longer than you, so why would you find it even remotely acceptable to blurt out poorly thought out things like this?

What you said doesnt even make sense in relation to what your quoting...

If you can clarify your statement logically, and sensibly, then great...

nevermind, i'm closing my account, clearly my age is of huge importance to you (even though in reality it meas nothing), and my choice not to call myself "leathersmith" (which i am) does in no way reflect my knowledge of the subject, considering the nature of the site i would expect less hatred here, i guess about that i was wrong. Ageism is sooo low its unbelievable. Furthermore, joining a site doesnt fill a person with unquestionable wisdom. Congratulations you have driven another person away with your hatred. I wish you understood the effect that your hated has on people, especially people on such a site as this....
  2. Name:... Age:ageless Gender:Male Location:UK Occupation:Tattoo artist/ leathersmith Height:6'4 Weight:240 Shoe size:10-11uk What's your favourite heel style:platform and chunky What's your favourite shoe style: boots...demonias Do you wear your heels outside: 3inch ones everyday, never wear flats. What is:. (a) Your favourite heel height:3-6inch (:silly: Your highest heel height:6.5 inch

  3. Sure, she was a tad bit rude with yelling (trying to get a small point across, mind you. And not the way you think it). But it's not as bad as any other person's personality and tone as portrayed around here.

Regarding those shoes... I would like to see the new version, if you don't mind ;D

I may have already seen them, but just to clarify... :silly:

As far as i'm aware the closest style are the sky 332, i only know of uk stores that sell them but im sure if you searched that name they would come up as sold by a us store.

  4. What ever you do don't wet them! if they are PU then the shoes will be manufactured to a budget. this means they will have compressed card middling, toe boxes & back stiffeners. Wetting them will make these go soft & mushy - fine at first but the shoes will suffer long term & not last very long.

DO NOT hit them with a hammer, PU is not fibrous if you imagine hitting a plastic milk bottle over & over is will have little or no effect. You risk "nipping" the upper this way.

Why not take them to your local shoe repairer? he will have a machine (not just a windy windy thing you get of the internet!) which will give specific pressure to specific areas of tightness!

    Good Luck!

.....and yet it works, granted in the long term it wont aid their life-span but it works ...you clearly don't know how to express an opinion, please direct your ego elsewhere.

  5. Ive had to do this alot since the best footwear only goes to size 8uk, and i work a lot with leather. PU is ALOT harder to stretch then leather and needs to be stretched over the course of a week whereas leather can be stretched in few hours but this is what i do that works..... make the material damp with warm water on the inside and outside....then gently nead the material with a small hammer to make the material more pliable...then insert shoe stretchers (make sure they are the correct shape or you will end up have odd-shaped shoes...so buy wooden stretchers and carve them down to the desired shape and smooth) expand the stretchers 3 turns beyond snug....then place the footwear on a radiator until fully dried.....and repeat but dont take the stretchers out just keep turning the stretcher 3 times after each dampening . This works best with leather but does work with PU, dont use the icebag method as that can split/crack the material. I hope this helps you...

  6. If a person is expected to walk off a clifftop...the fact remains that he has a choice. If a person chooses to conform to expectations, they do so because they will benefit in some sociological way. Women are not slaves to expectations, they are free to choose there own image, as are men. I have conversed with women that will complain that men have forced them to wear heels as a sexual device against them, but in the same breath they will say that only females should have the right to wear heels... wherever there is an opinion , there will be opposition, just for the sake of opposing....These are the opinions of female supremisists (modern feminists acting after 1990's when gender equality shifted toward female dominancy) not feminists. I apologize if this makes no sense or is out of context...

  7. Hey everyone, its been a great week so far. My boss has been away so i have been wearing these to work:

    http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/Bamboo-by-Journee-Womens-Office-53-Ruffled-Platform-Stilettos/5320550/product.html?cid=123620&fp=F&mr:trackingCode=0FDC1040-58D7-DF11-B41F-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA

It is a great feeling to be in my heels for hours at a time.

Which colour did you go for? but that's great that you can work wearing them with no worries..
  8. if i had smaller feet, i might spend more on heels but at size 10uk 12us, there arnt many companies that cater for the style i want, so im on a mission to buy all the ranges by demonia, i wish newrocks did my size in heels but alas there is only one style in my size at around uk130 (not sure about $) which il be getting when business picks up :) , i have had to start buying cheaper ebay finds upto 2 sizes smaller and stretching them up to fit

  9. Did the name and address for the postage match the name and address of the bank account holder? Even ommitting the"Mr" from the mail-to address when it is present on the bank records can cause problems.

yes, they match, except the first line of address, but i explained that to them as my bank wont allow me to have my full address as my billing address, but usually when there is a problem with the address, my bank will refuse the transaction, as i said i havent had this problem before so i dont know what is different with this seller, i sent them an email but i doubt il hear from them soon due to the time of year. I always make sure that i perfectly fill in the payment form, so any problem they have with it cant be fixed. My exact postcode is shared by many houses on my street so maybe it is due to a problem with another person covered by same postcode. Either way il just have to wait and see, i cant get what i was going to buy anywhere else either, which is dissapointing, ah well. Again.. thanks for your replies.
  10. Thanks for your replies, the email said... "Here at ````, we take the security of our customers very seriously and to protect it we routinely check for anything that gives us cause for concern. As a result, unfortunately we have had to cancel your order (no. )". But i know there are no issues with my bank account, i am awaiting a reply to an email i sent to them. It found it odd that they gave so little information, as the transaction had already been approved the day before they sent me the email. Ive bought literally hundreds of items online and never had this issue before.

  11. Okay so a few days ago i ordered new boots, and today after being charged, payment cleared etc i recieved an email stating that the amount had been refunded without reason by the seller and that i am unable to purchase from them. There are no problems with my bank to warrent such an action, has anyone been in this situation and come to the conclusion that maybe discrimination is involved? This was from a big brand website btw not ebay, i could understand it happening on ebay for good reasons, but this was a well known company... any thoughts? feel free to tell me i am overthinking it haha, have a great day and a better tommorow everyone and happy christmas, kwanzaa, hanukkah and holidays :)

  12. Great DESIGNS, please ignore any elitist comments. If a house is built a brick a day, it is not superior to a house built with haste. Knowledge (even 3 years worth) is nothing without imagination and passion. Have a great day.

  13. I'll bet if someone did a poll on here, asking to rate how conservative/redneck/intolerant/dangerous a place you live in, most men here would answer that theirs is way above average. We can't ALL live in places that are way above average. It's our misperception. Surely there are bad neighborhoods where you don't want to be, even in daylight in men's shoes, but I think a lot of us use this misperception as an excuse. We proved yesterday that Canton, Ohio, is a not redneck place (in spite of Wobbles and her chain saw! ha ha ha!). It's typical middle America suburban and we who attended the heel meet in broad daylight all lived to tell about it. The demons are in our heads.

    Steve

Well put, thanks for your input. Where i live currently most people dont care about what others wear and the few that do are either projecting or are too immature to accept it and they are the usual cowards in cars. I have just found heckles funny since i was named a jew by kids in a jeep, when was this jewish heel-wearing movement? hahahaha

  14. I live in Hackney which is one of the roughest areas in the UK and is mentioned with Brixton and Mosside in crime reporting figures. I live on what was, until recently, voted the worse estate in Hackney and one which is notorious for crime.

I regularly walk round my neighbourhood in a short mini-skirt and 5" heels without any problem at all.

Wrong teeshirt colours, football club shirts etc. may cause trouble but the problems with heels are between the ears.

Yes indeed i agree that the problem is one between their ears, but i refered to another post whereby uk residents were considered unaffected by the stigma. Im happy to hear that you have no problems , manchester was such an area in which i stayed too

  15. Good day to you all. So today i saw a reply to a thread which refered to national differences regarding the acceptance of men wearing heels etc. I am curious as to if there actually is any differences in the level of acceptance with regards to country of residence. I have lived in areas of the u.k whereby merely wearing the wrong colour t-shirt (street territorial coded) can result in a visit to hospital or worse, as can the wearing of anything slightly outside social norms. In such areas, should a man wish to wear heels, being named as gay is the least of his worries, therefore i am confused as to why anyone would assume his situation to be "lucky". I am lucky that should a knife wielding guy come at me , i can defend myself, but some are not so fortunate. Basically i wish for people not to dismiss the difficulties of others based upon national stereotyping. Anyway, good day to you all, thanks for reading.

  16. Hello, im sorry to hear of your negative experiences, i know of the idiots that must heckle or reach for their cameras when they see something even slightly different. Remember that they are merely cowards that hate you for your ability to be an indervidual.. whenever i have been heckled by such people, i walk toward them and they have never ran so fast. I do have some advice which helped me and i hope itl help others too for building confidence. Firstly i must say that where i live, wearing anything unusual can result in a visit to the hospital or worse. To increase your confidence... start off small, wear something that you would usually feel awkward wearing due to public opinion.. like a vivid piece of clothing, spiky hair etc etc .. therefore the negative reactions and looks will be there BUT to a lesser extent, then as you adapt and learn to dismiss the narrowmindedness, then you can up it to wearing heels. You shouldnt feel bad, but proud that you are being who YOU want to be. Good luck and remember that your bravery shall inspire others and then WE can heckle and take photos of the poor little scared conformists. I hope i helped.

  17. Just keep searching ebay for leather hides, there are quite a few sellers on there that will either sell by-the-metre, or be selling off-cuts, but as they are usually all on buy-it-now, the listing goes quite quickly. Check everyday, itl turn up, i only buy leather off ebay as its the cheapest and most avaliable source in the uk. Hmm this probably didnt help but anyway.. good luck
