  1. I'm from Pittsburgh and have spent lots of time in shoes stores and galleries there. In which part of town did your latest adventure occur? I'm in Harrisburg now, but get back to Pgh occasionally. I've always got superb treatment in the Nine West stores there. I was wondering how the Ross Park Mall Nordstrom's has turned out for shoes??? Keep up the grand styling!!

  2. I must start posting here more ... I mean this is one of my favorite spots on all the Internets ... and I merely lurk. (Sorry kneehighs, but we did play phone tag once!) OK ... I bought some way-ass-cool Pliner boots last week ... more on that later. I promise. Who paints their nails and what reactions have you gotten/not gotten??? me

  3. To iloveboots & bootylicious: GREAT stories. I've been wearing Kenneth Cole black ankle boots with a 3+-inch heel every day now with long jeans. Wow! A great feeling indeed! Finally - I don't care what anyone thinks. iloveboots, how did boots first come up with you and the woman you married?

  4. HighHEELman: Great story. I loved those kinds of shoes. They were everywhere when I was in high school thanks to Pappagallo, Zodiac, etc. They came in a zillion colors, were soooo low cut, had big flowers on the toes. Wow! I wish I could go back to those days, take lots of pictures and buy lots of those shoes. The girls would dangle them relentlessly, and made sitting through class very ... well, hard. I have loved those kinds of shoes ever since. I love heels, but ballet-style, skimmer flats or flats with bows at the toes are a BIG passion of mine. I wear feminine flats a lot, with all sorts of outfits. Please tell me more. thanks.

  5. Marc...it sure is great to see younger women in really spiky, pointy pumps (and boots!). I work at a private college and I see great pumps and boots sticking out from under long jeans quite a bit. It's a super turn-on and has me wanting more heels and those wonderful pointy boots

  6. Cool clogs, Marc. I guess I started slowly with my wife. It was clear when we met that I had different wardrobe styles than most guys. I didn't wear heels then - I've always loved ballet-flat type shoes. Y'know the type: pumps with a flat heel or skimmers or whatever. I've liked that style since I was a kid, and when the style got hot in the 1980s, I was all over Nine West, Bandolino, etc. for them. I loved them plain or with a bow at the toe like the classic Ferragamo low-heel pumps (Got 2 pair on eBay!!). I started wearing Nine West boots with higher heels and she hasn't screamed or anything yet. I remember smuggling home a pair of red Kenneth Cole flats thinking she wouldn't like them, but she said they were cool. The knee-high nylons I've worn on occasion haven't disturbed her as far as I know, but I'm always pretty laid-back about what I wear. You've got to have a "no big deal" attitude to make it fly, I believe.

  7. I've gone out once or twice before, but this time it took far fewer glasses of wine! LOL. Hey - there's nothing wrong with the "discreet" part. Check out ladies - the long-pants look where point toes and point heels are all that's seen of the delectible boots is a hot look. I'll take it. I don't have to show all the heel to be turned on by the whole scene. Hey - I'd love to go to that NYC heeling event. Especially if there's shopping involved. As for my wife's acceptance, I think it's more of a mere tolerating. She doesn't complain, but we never talk about it.

  8. Last night, my wife and I went to a trendy restaurant in town and I wore my Kenneth Cole ankle boots with the 3.5-inch spiky heel. It was great. Thankfully, I just got my new GAP jeans (size 10-LONG, and they're about a 34 length), so the look was complete. The heels felt pretty high, too, as I walked on the street and sidewalk. Heels are so cool.

  9. Jeff...Thanks SO much for the pics. The shoes look great, as do the pants and hose. Tell me, how easy has it been for you to wear these shoes at work? Is there a thread here that reveals your history. I'd love to go this route at work, too. Thanks

  10. Great stories! I've always had good experiences in Nine West stores. All the youngish lady sales people have always been totally accepting and even (gasp!) encouraging. At a store in suburban Pittsburgh I had a salesgirl who always greeted me by name, and would bring shoes she thought I would like as well as the ones I asked for. She got all my business - it was just so cool.
