  1. It's been quite a while since my last post, but I do visit just about everyday to check for new posts. I am currently dealing with the paper-like sole lining of my sandals seperating from the footbed. Can anyone suggest a proper adhesive to reattach them? Thank you for responding.

  2. When home alone, driving, or in bed its usually a strappy sandal. All other times it is something way less feminine. I have recently purchased some 3 and 4 in heels that I am comfortable in wearing in public under jeans. Would not be comfortable in stilettos in public,...........yet.

  3. A full size smaller would have been the correct size, however, They were no longer available in that size that I could find. I greatly liked the look of the shoe, so I bought it in a half size smaller. Ther is still a small gap behind the heel, but they are very wearable without major heel slap. I think the height of the heel helps. If I wear a thin sock instead of my normal knee high hose they are perfect. Also, if I wear them barefoot they snug up a bit. The full size smaller would have been snug but I think they would have broken in nicely over time. As I don't forsee wearing them without being mostly covered under my pants and not for any great period of time, i am very happy with my purchase. I wear them while driving a great deal of the time and in that position they seem perfect.

  4. Am still trying to figure out how to post a picture. Will post when I do. In the meantime I have just received a new pair that I immediately wore to a public function that family was attending. Aerosoles Stax O Phone loafers with 3 in heels. The sole and heel are rubber with minimal noise.

  5. I voted that it doesn't matter. As my face has not seen the light of day since 1975 and plans to stay that way for the remainder of my years, I would not be able to heel without the "MAN" look. I do, however, feel that the more feminine shoe styles are contradicted by facial hair when trying to pull off the look in public. My opinion only.

  6. Exactly! That is what I was referring to. Thanks for making it more clear. I am suprised that more heelers don't experience this Now, for those of you who wanted to take my physics problem and turn it into a geometry question- Lets stick to the subject. Thanks to all for the interesting replys.

  7. I finally bought a pair of heeled shoes that I am comfortable enough in to wear in front of the family-Mudd "Dominique" loafers? 1/2 inch platform, 2 1/2 inch very chunky rubber heel in black. I wear appropriate length jeans as to not flaunt them. The only comment I have gotten was from my wife. "What shoes are they?", she asked. I lifted my pant leg and showed her. She said "Oh". End of story. No other comments from anyone else. I guess the next step would be to wear them when I am with my friends. Hmmmmm?

  8. Just received a pair of Marc Fisher "persuade" pumps with 4" heel, size 10. They are too big. I can get a finger in behind my heel when I stand in them(3/8 to 1/2 inch). I'd like some input as to whether I should go down a full size or a half. Thank you.

  9. Haven't posted in quite some time, although I do visit and read posts every day. It does provide encouragement for the pleasure of heel wearing. The last time I posted the season was changing from shorts to jeans and I had just started heeling in public. Long pant season was just what I needed to get myself out there. I am doing my part for the cause. I have three pair of heels that I wear out all the time. A 2.5 inch thick heeled loafer, a 3 inch block heeled calf boot, and a 3.75 inch blade heel calf boot. I have been wearing these everywhere and enjoy every minute of it. Getting the correct length jeans was important in releiving the self-consciousness of heeling in public. Thanks to all for posting and sharing. It is very much a source of courage to get out there.

  10. I have been wearing heels to sleep in for most nights during the past 6-8 months. Usually it is a pair of sandals but ocassionally a pair of peep toe pumps. My wife does not know(or she has not let me know that she is aware of this) even though I keep the shoes right under our bed. I am thinking now that she is of the "don't ask don't tell" way of dealing with the situation. I would like to get it out in the open, but have not found the courage to attempt bringing the subject up. I can't get enought heel wearing in during the day to satisfy myself(especially sandals) so wearing them in bed and while sleeping is how I satisfy my need.

  11. I have been wearing a pair very similar to those since long pant season came in. I wear them everywhere. the only comment I heard was from a child asking his mother how she knew I was wearing "cowboy boots". I am still learning to deal with the click-clack that I have to force myself to ignore because at times it makes me very self conscious. I do not , however, let it interfere with the confidence I project while walking around. If you could find a pair (if possible) with a rubber heel that was quiet you could be very secure in wearing them without notice from anyone. Good luck.

  12. Went out in the same sandals the other night to pick up some food again. It was definitely easier the second time. No one noticed that I am aware of. Took a bigger step today. Wore the same shoes to the Home Depot. Much bigger audience than the food pick up scenario. Just strode in confidently like I always do and went about my business. I couldn't even tell you if anyone noticed. Being out in public is a very different experience than walking around in the dark or in the house. It was a very self rewarding experience. What a pleasure to be able to do the normal things you do in the shoes you enjoy wearing. Thanks to all again.

  14. I voted "just a man in heels", however my favorite styles are the strappy sandals. In the winter I wear knee high hose so I can see the polished toes that go so well with the sandals. I believe I will try pumps this winter to see if I get the same feeling of enjoyment/contentment/satisfaction that I get with the sandals. Wearing heels just seems "right" when I do it.

  15. At this point I do not know the correct answer to this question. I do "try' to keep it from her. She did find me wearing them once but I told her I bought them for her to wear inthe bedroom and they instantly became 'hers' and were kept under the bed. Another time I left a pair out that she found, and again became "hers"(she never wears them). I keep several pair in our walk in closet. I think they are hidden, but if she moves some clothes around they are not difficult to find. I have bought pairs online and I gave them to her to keep under the bed. she occassionally wears them in the bedroom, but I wear them more often. More pairs have come through the door than are visible to her and she never mentions it. The other day she found two pair under the bed that I thought she had never seen before, and after cleaning under the bed she returned them to where they were and never said anything. Bottom line is I think she knows, but is trying to ignore it. I know I will feel much better when it is out in the open. We love each other very much and my feeling is that it will not change the way she feels about me. When I find out, I will come back and submit an answer to the poll.

  16. Only recently discovered this site. I was venturing outside in wedges before, but only when I was fairly sure I would not run into anyone. Never did. The other night I finally convinced myself to wear them to pick up some fast food I had ordered. They were only a pair of wedge sandals, 3 inch heel, single 5/8" strap across the toes, dark brown leather with black heels/soles, little wider strap across the instep, and I had my toes painted a very subtle color called Glazed Sand. Jeans, of course. I am sure I never would have attempted this if not for the stories and encouragement I have been reading here. Thanks to all.

  17. As a secretive male heel wearer, I purchase heels online. I didn't realize the discrepency in sizing and have gotten a couple of heels that were too small. Is there a place here on this forum or elsewhere online where information about which manufacturers shoes run true to size and which ones ron smaller or larger?

  18. Thanks for the welcome. Let me contine... married 25 years, four children, ages 16-25, work in commercial and residential construction, consider myself to be the "average Joe". Have been admiring women in heels forever. My wife , however, does not wear them. I only remember one pair of pumps years ago. I did try them on once and my interest was peaked a bit, but never went anywhere. I have now been wearing heels for about 2 1/2 years. Occassionaly at first, but now everyday. If I am alone by myself I am usually wearing them. I wear them when I drive, and I often wear them to bed at night. I have bought 12 pair and have aquired 4 other pair of women's shoe from my wife's discard pile. I can wear most of her size 9's easily. I am not sure if she is aware of the full extent of my hobby. She did find me sitting at my desk in a pair of strappy red 4"inch sandals one time, but I told her I liked heels and that I bought this pair hoping she would wear them in the bed room. She obliged and these were kept under her side of the bed. I eventually bought a couple more pairs for under the bed. So much for being the "average Joe". I have been reading posts on my phone during lunch and have found many that I can relate to and many that are helping me to understand my obsession a bit. Thanks to all till next time.
