  1. the address of queen fashions in metairie is: Queen Fashions (504) 828-9888 (504) 524-4335 3001 19th St Metairie, LA 70002 They also have an address of 907 Bourbon St. I emailed them about shoe availability at their metairie store and they said they didn't have many size 12 shoes in stock. I guess that may mean there would be even less size 13. They also said they are trying to go to internet business exclusively. I also agree with bubba - Sexyshoes.com has good shoes in large sizes and I have had good business dealings with them. Good luck

  2. I always though that 5" heels were considered "High", and that 6"-9" (ballet heels)/ was considered "fetish" but then everyone has an opinion :-)

Well, maybe I should have said 6" heels, as I actually have 2 pairs of 5" heels. :P As much as my bank account hates it, I prefer the designer heels. They seem to be much more comfortable than the shoes from Fredericks or any of the like. I can stand or walk for hours in my 4inch BCBGirls Heels!

Danielle, Keep me posted of anything that comes to mind please! And thanks for the offer of being on the lookout for stores. Are the people of New Orleans fairly open minded? What would they think if I tried on shoes in the stores, especially the mall (Dillards, 9west, etc)? I know some of you will say "it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks", but I am kind of new to the thought of going public. I have been a closet heeler for years!

    Thanks,

  3. I will be going to New Orleans within the next couple of months and I was wondering if anyone has been shoe shopping there. I have done some homework on places to buy shoes around new orleans. I am thinking of visiting Oakwood Shopping Center in Gretna, The Esplande in Kenner, and the Lakeside shopping center in Metairie. Does anyone have any experiences with these malls? How about any other good spots in New Orleans? I would like to try some shoes on in the stores, since it is highly unlikely that I would see anyone that I would even remotely know. Which store or stores would be more "accepting" of me trying on heels? About styles I like: I am not really into the 5 inch "fetish" heels. I am more into pumps in the brands like BCBGirls, Steven, etc that would be found in malls. Thanks, LA Woman

  4. LA Woman,

Nice collection you have there. The Boots are great. I really liked the last pair of ankle straps you chose.

Any chance of us seeing some picts of you in them?

Thank You! I ordered the last pair of shoes from Zappos last week and haven't received them yet. I can hardly wait!

As far as pics go, I don't make a good picture. I wear heels purely for the enjoyment. I don't look good in them and make no bones about it. :)

and I ordered a Lilac pair of BCBGirls Heels with an ankle strap

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/2515940/c/12414.html

I love the BCBGirls, they are so comfortable. I have decided that I can't buy any more shoes until next Christmas (for myself anyway). I am glad that I have made enough money these past few months to not put myself or my family in a bind.

I have provided links for anyone to look if you so desire. The name in quotes is the style name.

  6. Firefox: Thanks for the correct links. When I tried to go directly to the bwgreyscale.com site, I kept getting timed out and just figured that they had taken the pictures down. That's the reason for the grossly long google URL. :) LA Woman

  7. Paris Hilton

There was an interview with her in Elle magazine I think sometime around march. In this issue, there was a picture of her with all of her high heels lined up next to her bed. Tons of shoes! The only link I can find is on google: (the image is very small)

I saved the larger image so it can be seen better, but I don't have a server. If anyone has a server and wants to post the larger picture, Let me know and I will Email it to you.

  8. Thanks for the kind words of welcome. In response to xaphod: I like the song LA woman, but I am not a big fan of the Doors. It is a name that is more of a reference of where I live. BTW I don't live in Los Angeles! LA Woman

  9. Hello everyone. I have been reading this board for over a year. Everyone seems nice and helpful in their posts. I'm not even sure why it took so long for me to make my first post. On to my topic: I watched a discovery channel program about twins, trying to find the pair that was the most identical. I got to thinking about twins that were separated at birth and how much they are alike when they reunite years later. I wonder if there has ever been a case like this where both twins were into high heels without the other twin knowing. I mean, is this a genetic thing, or is it "enviornmental circumstances" (obsession for high heels)? Just a curious thought, should provide for some thoughtful commentary. LA Woman
