  1. I have 4 different pair of women's motorcycle boots very similar to the Harley lady's boots pictured below, all with 3 to 3.5 inch heels, that I wear all the time on my motorcycle, often with leather jeans. Functional, safe and biker stylish.

  2. For subtle easy streetheeling I like 2 to 3 1/2 inch thicker heels usually worn with jeans. Comfortable and easy to walk in, but still feel like heels and give that heels posture and walk.

1st choice would be wooden or soft bottomed classic clogs. Wood bottoms, especially, for the almost high heel type sound when walking on hard surfaces. The soft bottoms (Dansko type) are more comfortable for lots of walking. Bright colors can make clogs look more fem, darker color more manly-works with my 2nd and 3rd choices, too.

2nd choice would be western style mules. Look great with jeans and have a high heel feel and look with a 2 inch or higher heel and pointed toe box. The western style makes them look fine on guys, and in fact custom western boot makers make them for men up to large men's sizes, if needed.

3rd choice would be either cowboy/girl western boots or classic Frye/biker style boots, especially in cooler weather and worn with thin nylon women's' "trouser" socks, under jeans.

  3. Subdued to Moderate fits my street heeling style. Wear classic clogs, cowboy boots, classic Frye/biker style boots and the Brutina heeled dress boots linked below. All these styles are available in men's or women's sizes and have 2.5 to 3.5 inch heels. Brighter colors can make the men's stuff more fem and darker colors make the women's stuff more manly.

I like all those styles a lot on both men and women, combined with jeans.

All the styles, or very similar, are available as either men's or women's.

Most folks don't notice, unless bright colors, and the bigger heels combined with often thicker soles or even a little platform feel great for everyday street wear.

  4. The Pirelli Tire Company did girly calendars for years and did an ad of Carl Lewis in heels, but didn't put Lewis in heels in any of those calendars.

Somehow, I don't think any of us guys are gonna look as good in heels as those Pirelli girls. <grin>

  5. Interesting links. I've seen Shuz magazine on the newstand and found it a great source of info and pictures for people interested in female footwear. The other mags appear to be more shoe business trade journals, for people directly involved in the shoe business. Those business journals are a good indicator of future shoe trends, and would probably be the first to note and publish any serious development of mainstream heels for guys. I wonder how many men in the women's shoe business have more than a business interest in those shoes? That could include everything from retail shoe sales to distributing to manufacturing to design to publishing to writing to photographing. I'll bet there are some high heel loving (and wearing) guys among those business types.

  6. Thanks for the heads up Epi Cene. Just ordered these. Not a perfect pair of high heels, but beautiful nonetheless. Perfect for casual wear...exactly what all the women in Europe were wearing when I was there. Great find for my closet.

I think those black boots are some of the best looking boots I've seen in a long time for men or women, street heeling. Very elegant and classy, and should look great on either gender.

The brown (also come in black) higher heel western boots with the leather detailing make those stacked heels look just right for a "dress" western boot, even for guys.

This trend to female western boots with higher heels, makes this a perfect time for guy street heelers that want to be subtle, to buy some of those boots. To me, the stacked/block/thicker heels look perfect with the greater mass of boots and guys wearing them, even better than stilleto heels on boots. The boot proportions just look better,to me, with the thicker heels. But, the thin stilleto heels look perfect on pumps and sandals!

I'm planning on getting a pair of each of those boots, just as shown.

Please write a review of your black boots, after you get them.

  7. The higher the heel, the more I'm going for appearance instead of comfort, but I like all my footwear a bit snug. Just like the way it feels. Too big, or loose, high heel pumps, especially, just don't feel right to me.

  8. We probably all have fond memories of certain women wearing specific shoes, that stick with us over time. Teacher's classic black 4 inch heel 60's pumps in school. Great memories that still paint a vivid picture in my mind's eye.

  9. As an avid fulltime observer of highheel wearing women, it seems to me that many heel wearers seem to have similar general characteristics. But, we all tend to see what we're looking for... More highheel wearers are relatively young (16-60) than older. (Some of the 40 to 60 year old affluent baby-boomers are still wearing heels, unlike earlier generations) More highheel wearers are urban rather than rural. More highheel wearers are upper rather than lower income. More highheel wearers are fashionably dressed than not. More highheel wearers are single than married. By ethnic group (I live in an ethnically diverse area), it seems I see highheel wearing women ranging from the most, to least, percentages, in this order: Asian, White, Mexican, Black. Regardless of the type women, they simply look better wearing heels! Profiles of heel wearing men are murkier, despite reading these forums, to me.

  10. Indeed...each to their own Cowboy boots may well be the choice of most here, particularly those with higher heels. They run a very close second, for me. My third choice would probably be thong type sandals... Sneakers (trainers) would be well down my list...darn things led to many females wearing less and lower heels.

  11. What are the first 3 things you look at for females you see? For me, in order, they are: shoes/boots/sandals legs face Maybe our interests here, influence that order, unlike a more general male population. Also, while the female ideal has often been small feet, I'm more attracted to larger size shoes/feet on the females I see. Probably because I can better imagine myself in those shoes.

  12. Some serious, some not so serious. A top 10 list. --- Can make one more fit & trim-wanna look good in those shoes. Can make one a better shoe shopper with women friends. Can make one better understand women. Can make one taller. Can make one more tolerant of others with unusual interests. Can make one look better. Can influence one's career choices and situations. Can make one more honest. Can make one more confident. Can make one more daring. Others?
