  1. When my daughter was 6-7 she had these boots & they were what she called her heels:

She then progressed with age to this sort of thing for weekend wear:

Which were fine and she loved them. Then these for summer wear:

She's 11 now and into this sort if thing:

I have no issue with her wearing any of those (clearly) as long as it is not everyday & in a tasteful way. For example those trainers she wears with jeans. I did tell her hot pants & them were a no no! Didn't stop her trying though... So like all things in life its about balance & perspective.

  2. Anyone bought Love Label boots? Or anything for that matter? I bought some 9's (43) & they feel way smaller than that. I love the style & look. Heel is 5" & the hidden platform is about 3/4 of an inch.

These are very tight on me. I consider myself a 'normal' 9 & most high street stuff fits ok. My last purchase from Next was a 9 & that was spot on:

  3. Your daughter sounds sensible enough, plasmaboy! I can't think where she gets that from??

The shoes and boots she is wearing to school are not very elegant or feminine - which, as you say, is probably just as well. But does she like or wear other footwear in a 'more adult or suggestive style', e.g. stilettos? If so, do you encourage, tolerate or discourage her? (I am curious as I only have 5 sons/stepsons, so no idea how one relates to or 'manages' a teenage daughter.)

She is eldest of three. Her younger sister & her have same size feet so lots of shoe swapping goes on. The heels they have between them are all 'functional' rather than sexy in my opnion. The trends seem to be for military & cowboy esq rather than spikes at thier age. Below are some of the others they wear:

Pictures are a bit random - depends where the best light is in the house. And of course they have Converse/Nike/Addidassort of thing & various other flats that get equally worn.

  4. Well the chunky heel and probably no-slip material will help. The 4" height, that's probably a disadvantage.

Ignoring the child aspect, rather seeing this as a heel wearer attempting to wear a pair with a height perhaps out of their comfort zone, curious to hear how it goes.

She has done ok & is being sensible about not wearing them everyday. She claims to have been fine walking in them. Her regular school wear over winter months (since Sept.) has been a pair of boots with a 2" wedge:

Its very subtle. Those mixed in with regular flats gives it some variation. I think the 'trainer' style is fine for a teen of her age. If it were a more adult or suggestive style then indeed things may be viewed differently.

  5. I took some snaps of the above New Look boots.

They have a 4" rubber heel. Apparantly thats good cause they won't make any noise & therefore not attract teacher attention! Looking at the New Look website they come in a 9. Am tempted but not sure.

  6. I have way too many. Anyway:

Plus there are others on the "other items" link.

Now these were on the shelves in black or grey:

The heels are about 4.25" & they feel quite high when on. They are quite generous as a 9 as well. I quite like them & the grey is actually quite nice. The flash on my camera "brightens" them up a fair bit. I ain't no snapper!

  7. Have been buying things in Priceless of late. I used to be a shoe Zone kinda guy but Priceless have some great styles. Ok the build isn't mega but they look ok.

These are western style boots. Short ankle but not quite booty with a 3" cuban heel. Brill to wear & not too obvious either.

Much higher - 4.5" and have already had one pair when the heel came off! Just chucked them as they were only a tenner & bought another pair.

Not really high enough for me but these from Fat Face weren't too bad. But they did cost "proper" high street money at around £70

This one is a similar heel but was only £15 or so from Shoe Zone.

Am going to be thinning my collection over next week or two. I have sooo many that my secret store won't stay so for much longer! Will post a preview before they go on eBay.
