  1. Here are a few photographs taken of advertisements from billboards and at bus-stops in The Netherlands. The first two show former four-time Olympic gold medalist Inge de Bruijn who after her swimming career started a modelling career for a lingerie line. The second is just form a well-known Dutch warehouse chain. I hope you will enjoy them! Regards, Boot-lover

  2. I bought my first pair of thigh high patent boots with 12 cm heels about 15 years ago in Rotterdam. A new store with hardrock/gothic theme had recently opened and those boots were on display in the window. I took me a few times before I had the nerves to enter the shop, even more to take a look at those boots and asking a salesperson if I could try them on. She didn't blink an eye, but apparantly aware of my nervousness showed me the way to a fitting cubicle where I could try them on in all privacy. They fit perfectly so I bought them. So, just another story of the nice and understanding salesgirl.

About a year later I bought a pair of thigh high lace-up boots (without zipper, see my thread on that issue in the 'for everybody' forum) with 14 cm heels in Amsterdam in a regular shop in one of the main shopping streets. Again I met a salesperson that was glad to help, albeit I had to try them on sitting on a bench in a rather busy ladies department. But at the time I did want to buy those boots, so I didn't care.

  3. Although I admire your stamina and understand the thrill it gives you knowing that your heels are locked on with the key at home, I do not sympathize with this kind of game. Your husband should be able to free your feet anytime if need arises. In my opinion, when you experience cramps and pain like that, it crosses the boundaries of the concept "Safe, sane and consensual". Next time make sure you have the keys with you.

  4. For me, it would be a black patent lace-up knee high boot with a five inch stiletto heel. The laces will go through eyelets rather than around hooks. The eyelets will be close together, resulting in a fine maze of laces. And no zipper on the inside, because in my opinion that ruins the whole idea of the lacing. Like Dr. Shoe: knee high is meant to be knee high, not mid-calf. The front side should be a little higher than the back side. The back side will be as high as it allows for easy bending of the leg. The fit should be tight throughout the shaft of the boot. Very importantly that means that is has to be a snug fit around the ankle. And, very importantly, the nose would be round. No pointed nose for me! Actually, the boot would have a 50's vintage style. All in all...not exactly the revolutionary kind of design.

  5. As a bootlover I am particulartly fond of high heeled boots that lace-up at the front. I even have two pairs, that I like to wear in my home whenever possible. The first pair I bought about 15 years ago, and they only have laces. The newer pair however also has a zipper. Although a zipper makes it much easier to slip in and out of the boots, I really feel that lace-up boots should have no zippers. My reasons are twofold. First because I think the boots are more beautiful without them. Secondly, the sight of a woman putting on her lace up boots is wonderful; when I put them on myself I also find pleasure in lacing them up. I would like to get the opinion of you other high heel lovers. :wave:Boot-lover
