  1. Re Exotique photos,

The idea of adding a fake toe to a ballet heel is not new, it has been mentioned in print several times.

Although I have never seen any definite picture of any of these type,

I think these two below, would be somewhere close!!

Have you got any pictures for us to see?

Notice the arch and the angle of the shoe.

Standing, the arch is even more pronounced !

The boots came from www.talana-gamah-and-ieish.com, but my friend says they take for ever to deliver and he is pretty sure they subbed the work out to someone else.

He has now given up on them and now is using www.leatherworks.org.uk

The model below (Valentine) looks like it might be for you with a 7" heel

  3. As a long term ballet heel fan, I was just wondering if anybody knows the how many years they have been around. The earliest pictorial evidence I can find is the 1940's / 50's.

The left hand picture appears to be from the 40's from the design of her other shoe.

The middle has what seems an old design.

In the right hand picture third, the shoes have a home made look to them and the dress is from the 40's

I have read of an act in a music hall in 1924 where a girl danced in ballet shoes with 9" heels, but this has not been confirmed.
