Recently learned of these and have really fallen for them. Maybe not $700 worth of falling, but still think they are lovely.
The spare heel makes it look like a sketch of a heel, and I also like the juxtaposition of the steel and the leather.
Does anyone own a pair? Are they a joy or pleasure-is-pain to wear?

If so, what are your impressions of quality, fit of their products and their service over all?

I'd love to design shoes... not sure about how one starts that career at the tender age of 53!

I know that some sites will let you customize your order.
These are derived from some beautiful giuseppe zanotti two tone t-straps that are no longer available. 4-1/2" heel. -
Saw these in a Shoedazzle ad.
Normally I'm all about the classic, sleek, and black, but these have a funky charm to them.

The latest study—thinking of the oriental custom of foot binding (ick) and went to the ballet heel as a way to minimize the foot.
Am starting to wrestle with the play of light on finish. Photography makes it look so easy!

Got a Wacom tablet for Christmas, and have been learning how to draw... again. This is a study from a composite from three photos.
The model is Tarja Turunen—formerly of Nightwise
The boots are my own creation—going for a victorian feel with a little juice added.

I'm an Illustrator and all-round image maker by trade. The thing I seem to working through includes heels, but it's much more about a complete femininity. Think Hollywood stars of the 30s and 40s and I'm trying to present that vibe in a current visual idiom.

A holiday card. The shoes are Dolce & Gabanna pumps—love the heel. The woman is based of a photo of greta Garbo. The car is the equivalent of a 1930 bat mobile.

I've been away a while, so my old thread got locked. I sorta cycle in and out of projects like a comets orbit.
Here's the last of my angel series, the theme being a "good death." The idea was one of comfort at the end of a well-lived life. Death is sometimes referred to the other side of the veil, so the angel is lifting the veil as the act of transitioning the soul. Pata was very gracious to me in encouraging my work, so all thanks to her!
Next is a fashion image that was inspired by the Andy Warhol museum, although for the life of me I cannot remember how:
And finally there is another fashion/fetishish portrait inspired by a number of sources. I don't often think of brown and black as a pleasant combination, but after some study I see it works pretty well.

For whatever reason, I keep getting file upload errors, so I linked to the image from elsewhere.
This started from a 15-second idle doodle. I dressed up model Ulorin Vexin a 20s-themed dress and pumps that I designed as I went along.

I'm trying to lose weight, and if I make my goal, I hope to reward myself with a pair of Fernando Berlin Thigh-high boots. I started thinking about what to wear with them, and created this outfit. A red sequin dress and a fitted tuxedo jacket. I tend to fade into the background in my daily mode, so I keep getting drawn to bright, "look at me" hair. I don't smoke, but is there any prop more elegant than a cigarette holder? Fashionistas are invited to make recommendations about accessories. I suppose I could wear this to the Warhol...

The angel's message
I've been a fan of ballet boots for a while. At some point it struck me that they would be an appropriate shoe for a being unconstrained by gravity and wanting by nature to have as little contact with the physical world as possible.
I strived for a composition that was graceful and not so fetish. The color palette was inspired by a sunset.
For a first attempt I don't hate it.

Another illustration from the archives—this one based of Ulorin Vex, an art model of considerable talent. The shoes are a figment of my fevered imagination. All the best.

I drew this a while back, and thought I'd share it here. I think Ancilla is one of the most beautiful models around. The shoes are from Fuss.
(I have too few posts to stick the actual pic in. )

Been out and about several times. Halloween was the best. My workplace contains a number of creatives, and so we get some latitude for unusual behavior. Coming to work in a Halloween costume is permitted. My costume was a goth chick. I had these wonderful lace-up boots with 4-1/2"heels. Got to wear them all day. Walked a couple blocks to a restaurant for lunch and back. Was whupped at the end of the day, but it was a very good whupped.

Hi again. I am both an admirer and wearer. I remember being fascinated with my mom's shoes and trying them on when I was three. I seem to have a sprinkling of transgenderism, and I'm okay with that. For me it is expressed in a love of all things feminine. High heels, and the ability to move fluidly and confidently in them is the height of femininity. A few years ago I fell in love with Suzy Parker. Since then I have grown enamored of much of the 50s fashion. The long narrow skirts, veil hats, gloves, even cigarette holders. And of course the stiletto heel was born in the 50s. My taste is pretty classic: pumps, slender heels, minimum decoration. [wistful] Louboutin is superb. [/wistful]
