As it was said here I can confirm that the best way is to have base coat, color coat (2x if you want deeper tones) and top coat. That is the way my manicure girl does it. Also I would recomend to use professional services from nail studios. For two reasons: 1. its fun 2. they do better work then you can - I have never made it to the same quality by myself... She use OPI for me, when she does me the french manicure and OPI and other brand I cant remember, for regular light pink color for daily use.
