  1. Well, I for one have worn women's jeans for many years, as I accidentially tried one on and liked the stretchy material we didn't have for men's jeans those days. I guess it was in the early 1980ies. I also liked the choice of colors and not the least the fact that they were cheaper then men's jeans. I experimented with styles quite a bit but I went into a jeans store where the owner was very friendly and gave the necessary explanations. Btw that was in Germany at around 1982/83. Ever since I own and wear such jeans, sometimes also in the office, combined with ankle boots with stacked heels of 21/2 inches heigth. If it was ever noticed it was only by women, and infact I always got compliments and never any strange looks or words. My biggest "achievement" was when, and that was the only time ever, a male colleague discovered my boots he went the other day and bought some of those for himself. His comment was that he found they looked cool.

  2. Hello Ben, I would like to add something here at this stage. I am also married to a german lady (for more than 30 years) and whilst I wouldn't consider myself as a "high heel addict" I nonetheless like to wear heels quite a bit and I did do so for many years now. Getting older now my desire to wear heels have somewhat decreased and I have come to wear mostly quite ordinary mens shoes albeit with heels of 1 and a half to 2 inches heigth. It only happened yesterday when we planned to go into town my wife mentioned casually: why don't you wear higher heels? They would look nice to your trousers, and off she went to bring some pair of ankle boots with 3 inch stacked heels. I was amazed! Now the comment I wanted to make here in the first place is that I've found out what my wife wanted to avoid: she admitted it long time ago. She said: I don't want you to appear publicly in a way that other women might think you being less masculine then their men are. It's as simple as that! And she added; whatever you wear at home is fine by me but in public I want you to be seen as what the majority thinks a "real man is all about". Yeah, I've kept to her rules, at least when we go out together. And she in turn is happy and actually has bougth nice high heeled sandals for me - to be worn at home. I guess you'll have to come to terms with that. Gerd

  3. thanks everyone for your nice comments :D I shown this thread for my wife and she just smiled her "I've done something right and special" smile for me.

bootluvr; I coudn't quite understand your question? (sorry, english is not my native language)

    Hi Jinx,

congratulations to you and your wife.

The question was whether the depicted lady is the special lady you've mentioned.

As far as I'm concerned I wear ankle boots, kneehigh boots and even a pair the french call 'gennouilleres',

i.e. sized well over the knees with 3 inch block heels for many years but whilst my wife sometimes accompanies me on my shopping tours she would never ever take an active role and buy some for me.

One day I'd asked her like "next time you go to town would you mind doing me a favor, I've seen some nice boots advertised here or there, surely you pass by, would you get a pair for me please?".

Her answer was that she wouldn't because I had to try them on first to see whether they really fit. I have to explain here that I wear a size that is EU 44,5 or 45 or even 45,5 sometimes (US 13 - 14), so boots are big and heavy, but I guess that she is using the argument coming handy to not wanting to do it. Also, she isn't wearing boots herself if you let go for one or two pairs during the winter. She likes mules and pumps usually with 3 inch heels. Now when we walk together I have to refrain from wearing high heels because she is 5'2 and I'm 5'9.

    Maybe that explains her reluctance.

  4. When I wear my overknees I also wear elastic jeans that are very tight fitting on thighs and calves. These do not move in any way and look very nicely too. These pants can be bought in several colors, I have them in white, black, blue and a dark brown. They are made in Italy, the brand name is "Doringo" and especially the white ones look like riding pants. Greets, kiwiguy

  5. Ask her if her wearing of trousers makes her a lesbian? On second thoughts that might not get a very polite response. I'll keep quiet :D

Well actually this argument is not a bad one. I used it in discussions with some of my female colleagues in the bank. As I said in my earlier postings I've never had bad remarks about my habit to wear moderate heels (6 to 8 cm) even in daily business. However we had some discussions about this during coffee breaks and some of the mid aged women brought the gay argument forward. I countered with the pants argument and actually it worked. Today these nice ladies are so used to it (and since about a year I'm not longer the only male wearing heels, we are 2 now), that there is never a comment at all.

But I got encouraging comments from some ladies who said that they thought more men should wear heels. Indeed, although Austria is a rather tradition minded country in Vienna at least you can see young and not so young guys wearing heels, albeit moderate and very rarely stilettos. But they wear them at private parties a lot. My shoemaker told me that he has some dozen customers who buy ladies shoes somewhere and bring them to him for modifications if necessary.

My highest heels are 4 inches and I just wore them last week at a social event (I was the only one there who did) but they either didn't realize it at all or they are already used to the picture, no one made a comment and we spent a very nice evening.

So I guess the situation is starting to normalize.

  6. Exitman, I would say that you should wear whatever pleases you, you don't wear anything for other people. I trust that you have developed a good taste because it is fairly important that all your clothing matches to a style. I personally have worn heeled shoes and ankle boots (typically 2 1/2 '' but occasionally higher (4 inches) for many years on a frequent basis. The only comment I ever got was a kid in the underground metro who asked his mother if what I wore were high heels. His mother had a look, nodded and the tiopic was finished for the boy. Other than that I have felt that women generally seem to like it. I have to explain that I quite often wear hipster jeans or leather jeans that have rather long legs whereas my legs are rather short for my hight and thus I discovered heels with the fashion of the seventies (platform boots and shoes). I just continued wearing them and I never had problems with my supply despite I need size 10,5 or even 11 UK or 45 EU. Most of the boots were bought in men's shoe departments but I have about 5 or 6 pairs designed for female feet. And, believe you me, they seem to even fit better. I also have a pair of knee high boots with 3'' heels bought in the US and even wore them in the office (bank). The only comment I had from there was: where the hell did you get these lovely boots from? My experience is a rather positive and I had made it in several countries from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Australia and New Zealand. Most conservative males I found in Poland where you do not seem to be able to buy decent men's shoes at all, however they have good shoemakers and you can order them by measure (costs are comparable to shoes in an average Paris shop). Keep on wearing, greetz Kiwiguy
