  1. Hi just thought I would try something. There was a thread relating to this posted on this forum a while back.

There was a post put on a board just like the elle one asking of men should wear heels. The picture in question showed a man wearing stiletto style boots. Well, I decided to post on the same board but using a simple square toe block heel example... as I think this is how the fashion will gain acceptance.

Well the replys I got were actually quick interesting... no-one said it was completely discusting, all replys were in the relm of its ok i suppose.

    Check it out.

    http://www.luxuryfashion.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=31577

Also I decided to post this because as you may have read from my last post my parents found my shoes like this.... but they seemed OK about it, but due to shock at them finding it and not knowing what to say and the possible acceptance I left it. Well I think ive managed to pluck up the courage to bring it back up with my mum as I really want it to be ok to wear them without having to hide them..... it makes it seem as if I am doing something wrong when I hide them.... which I feel I am not. So I posted on the outside board to see what the reaction was to men wearing so-called sensible heels. The replys on this board have give me the confidence to tell my folks sometime within the next week.

Sorry for the long winded post.

tell me what you think about the post replys.

  2. Hi everyone... im looking for some good responses to this as I need a bit of help and opinions. Ok. My folks found a pair of my shoes, a pair of 2 1/2 inch ankle books and my mum quizzed me tonight. I denied it saying someone had put them into my bag at uni as a joke. But I think they knew i was lying. So she said that they are ok and there is nothing wrong with them and that my Dad always wore and still likes to wear shoes with heels - but he cant find any shoes with good high type heels on them in mens. Now at this point I wanted to say.... so do you think I could wear this type of shoe etc. But I said nothing. Eventually it fizzelled out and it was left at its no problem. So what do you think. I was going to wait until my mum was on her own again and say that they arent mine (as I didnt buy them - keeping to my original story) but do you think that just like Dad I could wear this shoe (and others like it with heels). The shoes in question dont really fit so this fits my story and I could say that i'll go and buy some of my own. I really think this could work out well and I could start wearing heels with my parents knowedge and support... so I dont want to let it slip away. so what do you think let it go (as in they were just testing me being supportive- and they will roll out the councilers) or admit and ask to be able to wear heels..... PLEASE HELP.

  3. yes they are still a bit slippery, but not as bad as when I first put them on. mostly notice them in shops which have carpeted areas... my previous faith shoes started to become less-slippery after about four/five days wear. My girlfriend runs something sharp along the bottom of her shoes that are slippery (e.g. a few crossing lines) to create like a grip type idea... it works well. It doesnt ruin them as after a day or two it just looks like its part of the shoe. But then again no-one sees the bottom.

  4. Hi, I went out today and got them and I tried them on before buying. I used the excuse that I was using them as part of a stage costume in the style of the 70's rock bands.

So after trying on a few pairs it has ended up that I am a size four. That explains why the size 5 and 6s i got where big. I am a size six mens by the way.

Heres a picture to show what they look like.

    http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/myheels/2.JPG

what do you all think. The only thing is that they are slippery underneath (no grip)... this was also a problem with the other faith shoes I bought.

  5. Hi, its been a while.

I was looking about and I found these... what do you think, they have a 3 3/4 inch heel... so they are confortably high.

    http://www.faith.co.uk/catalogue/style.asp?range=5&subRange=108&curPage=4&style=870300

I am really looking to buy these. But with my previous buying experiences I have got shoes that were too small, tooo big, hurt me etc and its costing me a fortune trying to get something I can wear. So I think this is a valuable lesson that im gonna have to learn... to try and bite the bullet and try them before buying, expecially because of the price.

But I really like these shoes and I want to be able to wear them comfortably. Anyone else had this endless circle of buying shoes that they can never wear.

So what do you guys think of the shoes.

    Cheers.

  6. Hi again.

I mentioned I was going to buy these jeans from next, well they arrived. What do you think, are they too femine (i.e. too tight fitting) and would you instantly tell they were womens jeans. I bought them because I thought they looked uni-sex.

Im wearing the new shoes i'll post a pic of them later if you want.

  7. In reply to micha. I read that also that if you are a six then it should be a seven. But the first boots I bought I was too afraid to try them so i just got a six. These were huge and the arch of my foot was not supported as i was walking on my toes trying to keep the foot from slipping out of the boot. I tried on a 5 this was a bit better. Then I tried a four this means provides a smug fit and the arch of my foot is completly supported by the shoe. Is this wrong, should the boots be loose very loose and walking on your tip toes in a three inch heel.

  8. I have read and noticed the opposite. i.e. that womens sizes are generally smaller than the mens sizes. An example would be I am a size 6 UK mens but the size 6 womens is huge on me. So its turned out that I take about 4 or 4 1/2. The half sizes are hard to find.

  9. Dont get me wrong as many of you have been reading my previous posts will know i have been wearing heels as part of my normal clothing since christmas, without anyone noticing. The syles I have been wearing are thicker heels up to four inches - no-one cares. But the sabrinas were recomended as perfect wear for guys so I bought them as my first attempt into slimmer, slightly higher (they are 4 1/2 inches) heels. I love the sabrinas but i think that i will try to get some thin rubber stips onto the heels to dull them, as lets face it even guys dress shoes make loud audable clicks, its just these heels sound more femine and attract more attention due to the solid metal heel. How have the current sabrina owners on this board got on with them.

  10. I said I would post when they arrived. We'll I went dont to the shop today and picked them up and then I went and changed my converse style trainers for my new heels (still afraid to try them in shop). The first thing I saw was the 'high' thin heel and i was very excited, heres a picture.

so I quickly put them on and found that they fitted and they dont run small, in fact there is loads of room - thick socks may be called for.

I ordered these heels due to the heels for men site saying they are perfect and hearing people who wear them on this site. So after I ordered them I asked to see what any current sabrina owners thought, i was told they were actually quiet loud. This is a fact I did not fully understand until today. As I took my first steps the clicking sound was clearly heard. This is due to the metal cap on the heel (see pic) - can this be silenced a bit.

    Posted Image

So I went to the main street and the heels were clicking away my first stop was a bookstore.... it was here I had my first reaction, I walked up the stairs and two kids stopped I took no notice until they started telling all their friends to come see. I felt like it was a case of "come and see the freak". So I continued on walked around for about an hour and every woman I passed looked down. So I contined on and I walked past two women at an cash machine and I think one noticed and all I heard as a loud laugh.

So im not sure about wearing these shoes again, i love them however, but I think they may be a bit loud - i may as well have been wearing stilettos. But how do you guys get on in them and would you wear them often, even if you dont have a pair would you wear them.

So i'll try again wearing them - as i dont think I could resist.

    So keep your opinions comming....

  11. Thanks for your info heelfan. The website does not give any indications of heel height etc apart from to say that they are high (by the way I also ordered them in black), so 4 1/2 inches that is indeed high, as I thought my new four inchers were high. So I now cant wait hopefully have them by next monday as I have to phone head office to sort out some final details. So they are noisy so this will be a good test of reactions but as I am getting used to walking in heels it will not look out of place and the noise should blend in rightly on a busy street, especially as the girls all wear heels now as they seem to be very fashionable at the minute. So im very excited and I will let you know what happens when I get them and my day out in them.

  12. no my GF bought me the platform style boots in a sale as thanks for wearing the shoes I showed in my pervious post (shoe shopping and shoe sizing). Plus, I ordered the sabrina boot from Faith on friday, but they are getting back to me on monday to sort out some final details as I am getting them delivered to a local Faith stockists as opposed to the house incase I parents open them. I wore the platform style shoes after I bought them for the rest of athe day and I got no stares etc. However I think I did get one look about the boots I got at christmas (see wearing ankle boots in the UK) because I walked past two girls while I was on my own and one of them looked back so I think they may have saw them, no laughing when on however. But i cant wait to get the faith boots as I heard they were good, has anyone ever wore them out.... just to build my excitement.

  13. Hi again.

To all that have been following my heel exploits since i first got the courage to go out in them... Thanks.

As you know from my recent post my girlfriend bout me a pair of very femine heels for a night out, I have since given those to her and to thank me she bought me some new shoes today.

here they are, what do you think.

as you can see the platform type shoe, although it was not billed as a platform makes it look like a mans shoe from the front. It is start of me going higher, they have a four inch heel. So what do you think.

As all the shoes were going cheap I placed an order for faiths sabrina

    http://www.faith.co.uk/catalogue/style.asp?range=s&style=885825&CurPage=1&strSearch=sabrina

would you wear this style because I heard of this board that it is fairly popular amost you guys. If you do wear it what reactions do you get if any. I would imagine the heel makes a noise rather similar to that of a stilletto - would this be true.

So hope you can give me some opinions, feedback and do you think these are suitable shoes for my casual heel wearing as I now like my girlfriend only wear flats when the situation means I definately cannot wear heels. As my only obstacle is hiding them from my parents until I can get a atrategy together for telling them. I was thinking if my girlfriend maybe bought me a pair of low heels for a birthday etc and said to my folks that it is just part of a new style - as my girlfriend thinks that ear rings are more suspect than heel wearing.

  14. I have another question. ever since I started to wear high heels as my casual wear when im shopping etc I get a slight pain around the toes area. This comes after about two hours or so of walking. I read in Jenny's site this is normal and is just your foot getting used to the new centre of balance, is this true, did any of you guys experience this and how long does it take to go away. Ive been wearing high heels since Christmas on numerous occasions on long periods each time.

  15. I didnt get around to posting the story...here it is We started off the night at my girlfriends house we were going to meet some of her friends at the college in town and then goto the party which was about ten minutes walk from where the taxi left us. We stood around waiting on her friends for about ten minutes and no-one walking past really noticed.. probably because of the long trousers or the people were just too busy. Anyway the people came and three of them were girls and two guys. no-one noticed but everyone was wearing alternative clothes then my girlfriend took it upon herself to mention it just to see what the reaction was. The girls thought it was really cool asking if i wore heels reguarly because I walked for five minutes without breaking my foot and blended in with the sound of the girls heels. They loved it and commented that my girlfriend is a lucky girl because they wished they could get their boyfriends to be more fashionable. I did point out that I would not wear this type of shoe in public normally but would wear block heeled boots and I am looking into thinner heeled boots (just like the faith ones on the heels4men site). The guys thought it was cool but then again they are open minded art students and they are looking into the idea of heels for themselves. So my confidence was getting bigger by the minute. We walked into the room and everyone thought the same thing. But as always there is always one. Just before my 10 minute performance this girl with a bit too much dring came over to me and forgot the golden rule "never argue with someone who is about to get a microphone." So she comes over are you gay etc... I just laughed at her told her to wise up and said I just think girls have all the fun in the shoes depatment and since you are wearing jeans/trousers can i ask you if you are gay. She shut up and bought me a drink. My performance was great and I had to get up for an encore, so my ended up being on for 20 mins. So the night was nearly over my feet were killing me so I sat down for the rest of the night and enjoyed myself. I was told that the reaction the next morning was that numerous guys came up to my girlfriend and said that i was cool and they are going to check out the womens shoe deptment more often. So my morning after I woke with blisters and a good feeling and I am now as I said before, going to wear less femine square toe high heels casually now when im out shopping and im gonna have to hatch a plan to tell my parents about my heels before the year is out because I would like not to have to change at the bottom of the street and have my mum amybe go shoe shopping with me to save me money.

  16. ha ha... no, I wore them barefoot to show the sizing. As i said i will be wearing them with thick black socks, long womens formal trousers and a shirt. We are going to black out the design before the night and all that you can see with the trousers are the pointed toebox and the heel only really shows when I walk. Its for a charity fundraising art college end of year party and my girlfriend wants me to wear them a small price to pay for all the support she has given me. As for casual heels I stick pretty much to boots with thick heels but I was also asking you guys here do any of you wear this style of heeled boots i.e. the stiletto type heel with a squarer toe box as im thinking of getting some.

  17. yes there is no mistaking they are womens, I probably would never wear them out but do any of you wear this type of heel on a boot. The event itself allows for the alternative dressing becuase it is a art and design end of year party and it is sponsored by charities and people wear alternative clothes to it. Im using it as an excuse to wear this type of shoe plus my girlfriend says you would not really notice them under the long trousers.

  18. Heres the pictures

what do you think and does anybody wear this type of shoe while out and about.

this next picture shoes the sizing problem. Size four was way too tight. Is there anyway I could make them fit better. You can see the start of my toes sticking out. There is quite a bit of room in the toebox.

    Posted Image

by the way I will be wearing them with black socks to make them look a bit less femine and more like stiletto boots. I will also be wearing womens dress trousers which are about as long as my jeans, which are long bootcut.

  19. Hi... After my many troubles about trying to be a casual heel wearer and many thanks to you guys for your help. I how wear my high heels everywhere and no-one cares. Even though im a young guy(21) which means im in the definate minority of poeple who wear high heels are there any other young people here who find this. I do all normal things shopping etc, today i was studying for my uni exams in the library with heels showing and no-one looked twice. But anyway. I was also went to meet my girlfriend(I use this term - she is a friend of mine and we grew up together knowing each other) and She told me she wanted to buy me some shoes for a formal event she wanted me to go with her to and when she told the organisers I was going they asked if I would get up on stage and do a few of my original songs. So she wanted me to get these two-part stiletto heels(I will post a picture later tonight - and you can tell me what u think). So the salesgirls chatted and fussed over me for a while and I eventually found out that my mans size 6 should in theory convert to a size 4 1/2. I tried the four on and they were really tight and hurt me, so I went to a five. They fitted but they seem to be huge. IS THIS NORMAL, am I just not used to wearing this type of shoe. They have a pointed toe box so is this where the extra huge feel seems to be comming from or are womens shoes supposed to fit as if youve been poured into them. I'll explain more when I get the photos up and this may seem vague at the moment. Stay tuned. ALSO I also exchanged the heeled boots I had for the same size (size 5) and they fitted better, they fit so that the largest toe has about 1cm of room. But after walking in them for four hours my sole was slightly sore - I take it this is normal. Sorry for the length... I will post up some pictures later tonight.
