  1. Here is STYLETTOS from the other side of the world, Italy.

An even more complete selection of Jane's pictures can be found here:

Also I'd like to suggest a few links regarding Terry Biviano, the first and only (as long as I know) australian high end footwear designer, who is also a glamourous young woman:

  2. Hi Lucy! Glad to see you post a message here. I read all your story and almost remember it by heart. I already tried to search on the net for Regent Shoes as well, as somebody else did.

No interesting match, and the same for Derber and Ravel.

You know, I have to keep my high heels link page updated.

If you have time to have a look, tell me what you think about those italian designers and about my models as well.

    Ciao

  3. Thanks for your answer. Actually I didn't notice that you were the same person that first promoted my web site on this forum, coaxing me here.

But that's true! Does anybody else remember?

Some new virtual heels - work in progress

    Maybe it's just telepathy.

My website is gone quiet but it's just "quiet before the storm", as an italian poet once said.

Due to positive feedback, I'm trying to develope my graphic project into a real footwear brand. I'm quite satisfied by the first samples I've done till now. You'll see them very soon. That's why I'm so involved in topics like this.

I don't like very much those highlife shoes, and those brazilian models in general. They look cheap to me. I usually prefer heels around 4"-5", but there is something better also in this 6"-7" heels range.

I understand your point of view about hobbling. Personally I prefer a style that one could wear not only in a bedroom, but also to go to a party or even to go shopping. I like to see women hobbling everywhere all day and night.

My idea is to build a bridge somewhere between fashion world and fetish world. I don't claim this idea is new, just have a look at the best designers and you'll see what I mean.

  4. Being an italian, I am proud of being addressed as an artist and designer. :( I agree that italian shoes are probably the best made and designed. I like english brands too. Don't forget that Choo's and Blahnik's are designed in the UK, even if they are made in Italy, like many other good british (and french, and american) brands such as Gina, Beatrix Ong, Brian Atwood, etc. I quite like some spanish and brazilian brands too. See Fluxa and Arezzo for example. But if the question was about trends in different countries, it seems that in times of globalization they all tend to be quite similar, even if some differences still persist. Don't say I'm nationalist if I think that most foreign shoes and boots look like last season italian models.

  5. By the way I took the Casadei pumps from Saks Fifth Avenue online shop, where they are sold for $395. If they are in higher regard than Choos and Manolos I don't know. They are well and long known in Italy, and only in the last few years reached international audience. Unfortunately they haven't got their own web site yet. The others are Dior Parachute pumps, taken from Neiman Marcus online catalog ($405). All related links are available in STYLETTOS Italy link page. :(

  6. This discussion makes me think about a commercial I saw maybe one year ago on the TV. It was a temporary job company, maybe Manpower or something like that. Somebody was waiting for a job interview. All you could see was that the person was wearing black nylons and a really gorgeous pair of pointy black 5" stiletto pumps. The mature secretary who attended the office was dressed in a conservative way and wearing glasses. She looked quite embarassed when she entered the boss office and said something like: "there is that person for that job outside..."

In the next shot the boss was smiling at this person saying "OK this job is yours!" and at this point you could see that the person wearing 5" heels was A HANDSOME YOUNG GUY. The ad said something like "With us you don't have to bear any compromise". In the final scene the guy was walking away along the corridor in short skirt and high heels. The close up was ground level on this classy fashion pumps and the conservative secretary, staring at them with a dreaming expression, said: "such beautiful shoes..."

The whole scene was quite clever and funny and to me quite sexy too.

The shoes were also really beautiful and classy, something like these:

Maybe there could be a clip of this commercial somewhere.

  7. Just followed a referring link to my web site...and that's what I've found. There's a high heel forum I didn't know anything about, where my site is linked and other high heel computer generated images are shown. I agree that Trolldeg did a good job. I'm not crazy about the design itself, but the rendering and the modeling technique is very good. I didn't think there were other images similar to mine, but on the web you never know. Anyway everybody is invited on my web site. I will have a look around here and add a link in my link page. Somebody said I have the best high heel link page on the web...go and see for yourself!
