  1. Yes indeed. Found this place where one can order up to 3,5 inches : http://www.genioboots.com/Mule-Tall-Custom.html

These western style boots look very masculine and should not make wives upset or loose their marks.

That's a custom boot place. They get very expensive. $449 is a lot to pay

for a pair of boots. It looks like all the boots they sell can be ordered with up

to a 3.5 inch heel. When you click add to cart there is a form where you select

what you want. I assume they are mens sizes being it's not mentioned anywhere.

  2. Robert,

I do agree, but cowboy style boots for men here in the UK are as rare as rocking horse pooh, the gals have them in spades of course. I brought this up as the UK guys who want to wear a pair of heels, albeit low, and don't want to splash out the sort of sums that need a mortgage on a pair of YSL's etc, here is the answer.

Yes, here in the US cowboy boots are pretty common. In some places like parts

of Texas you look weird if you are not wearing cowboy boots.

I have a pair of boots, actually womens boots to get an extra half inch in the heel.

  3. I love this time of year, when after a light snow fall, I can see the stiletto heel marks left by women in their stiletto heeled boots and pumps. I'm sure many of you feel the same way.

If you're trying to do some discreet street heeling, those shoe

prints can leave some very unwanted evidence.

  4. Most of my everyday boots are riding-boot style with ½ inch and ¾ inch heels. I have enjoyed reading about you guys who wear higher heels on a regular basis.

A 3/4 inch heel is actually quite low. Guys can easily wear 2 inch heels

is plain view without anyone thinking anything of it. It's surprising how

high heels can go before anyone notices. Heels have to get around

3 /12 or 4 inches before you start getting glances from people. Even

    then, the glances are rare.

I bought some nice Mudd boots with 2 1/2 inch heels at The Shoe Dept

on sale for $20 that are absolutely great. I've been been wearing them

every day for the past week without problem. I didn't see them the

last time I was there so, I guess they sold out quickly.

  5. I bought these (dark brown leather upper) day before yesterday at my local PayLess for $9.00 (on sale!); they're selling on the net for $32.95

I saw them in Payless this evening for $9. Blade heels and pointed toes

aren't my style but, the price was tempting.

  6. A great pair, Robert !. But watch it. Before you know it you will be so comfortable that you will be wearing 4" stiletto heels !

    I do wear 4" heels.

I was at the mall in these last night:

Those heels make a lot of noise which I'm still not comfortable with

in public. Quiet heels aren't a problem.

  7. anyone tried pumps that were one size bigger than what you normally wear? the reason i ask is i saw a pair of very sexy white 6 inch heel pumps on ebay this morning. they have the 2 inch platform that i like and ankle straps that wrap up the ankle, over and above the upper. all in all they look very sexy to me and the price is right, under 30 dollars. the problem is the size. i wear women's size 12 and the shoes i saw this morning are size 13.

would my feet swim in shoes one size up?

    anyone have any experience there?

You'll have trouble with them. They won't stay on your feet and you

will move around in them too much.

You can wear heavy socks to get away with a size too big but,

of course, that doesn't work well with pumps.

  8. Boot season is here.

I've been looking in Payless, Famous Footwear and Shoe Dept and

finding some really nice boots for cheap.

I bought these today for $20 at Shoe Dept.

The heel measures 2.5" at the back. It's not really a "high heel" but

is great for "normal" wear. The heel is rubber and makes

very little noise. I wore them to the supermarket and found

them very comfortable. I think these are going to be my

normal wear shoes. It's a great boot for the price. Too

bad they only go up to size 11.

  9. gary0618,

Thanks for the info. I live about 1 hour from South Street and may have to give it a visit and check it out..

    Jim

I'm in Lower Bucks. Maybe it's 45 min for me.

We'll have to have a GTG some time. I didn't know there were others

    in this area.

  10. well, the boots are a size 12, but apparently they run about 1.2 size big. hence the 12.5 =)

I think boots are purposely made a half size larger than shoes so

heavy socks can be worn. I have shoes from Ellie in size 11

that fit perfectly. The the exact same style from the same manufacturer,

except in a boot, is a little big and I have to wear socks with them.

  11. Hi, I’m looking for black knee highs boots, with a pointy heel, and at least a 3” stiletto heel. Now for the problem, I wear a size 13, and my calf is kind of thin, so I need boots that’s stretch. I’ve seen boots on European sites, but they are $300 after the Euro Conversion. Thanks, Adam

    Try this: http://www.snaz75.com.

They have many shoes and boots to size 14 and have the best prices

    I have found.

  12. I purchased in person, a pair of tall boots at Payless today. Went to a local mall that also has a Rack Room Shoes that an Internet search indicated they had tall boots in 12 M. However they sytle they had was higher heeled than I wanted.

I've bought quite a few pairs from Payless. I notice, at least in the ones

I visit, they don't have everthing on display, they tend to rotate their

stock. Sometimes you can find some really cool stuff at a cheap

    closeout price.

I bought a pair of "Samantha" style boots at Payless today. The web site

says they are 3.5 inch heel platform boots. I measured them, the platform is only about 1/2 inch and the heel is 4.25. They feel great, I can't wait to wear them when I go out.

Not that often, I wasn't home alone enough to do it more than

    a few times a year.

    Hello all,

Just got these shoes Yesterday, even though the toes are more pointed than I usually wear they fit great.

They are made by Ellie and the size 12 fits very nicely.

I can even walk around on the 5 inch heels but still need a little more practice time.

A very nice store to deal with, they where very helpful and the best part was the fact that the shoes where on sale.

    Best regards EMS

I also bought a pair from Snaz75.com. They are great shoes for the

price but, they are cheap shoes and probably won't hold up very well.

At that price I figure I can just buy another pair when they wear out.

It took quite a bit of practice before I was comfortable walking in them.

Two things I don't like about them are:

    1) They have a "patent" finish which makes them very noticeable.

    2) The plastic heel is apparently hollow to keep the weight down

and makes them very noisy when waling on a hard surface.

I wore them a few times mall shopping and did notice a some people

looking them which made me very uncomfortable. I wear them

mostly at home as "training" shoes.

  15. I have a similar pair as below, only knee-high. They are synthetic. but thanks to a larger size I can wear the comfortably all day :D

They look like Ellie style "Easy." They are like what I have only higher

and have a zipper. I figured knee boots would be pointless under

trousers. I have the shoes too, style "Amber" but, they only come in

patent finish which draws too much attention so, I only wear the boots

with longer blue jeans in public.

  16. This fall I purchased a pair of black, Lower East Side (model 26860) ankle boots from Payless. They have a 3-1/4 in heel, no platform, side zip, and a modern rounded toe (sort of wide, but not square).

They're no longer on the market, but Payless has a couple other styles in sizes up to 13.

I have both shoes and boots by Lower East Side. They are amazingly

comfortable considering the heel height. I have been unable to find

the Lower East Side brand at Payless for the past year, as you

mentioned, they must not carry them anymore. I love the silent

soft heel they have. That style of boot would be perfect with a slightly

longer and higher heel around 4 inches.

  17. The first are my favs - I'm biased because I wear the same boot! I found it to be very easy walker though.

    Vern

I had to practice wearing them at home for several weeks before

going out. The 4 inch heels weren't a problem but, the 5.5 inch

heels took a lot of getting used to.

How long did it take you to learn to walk in heels that high?

  18. I thought I'd share some pictures of my favorite shoes.

This is a pair of boots by Ellie, style 557-Dolly with 5.5 inch heels.

It took a lot of practice to learn to walk in them.

I wore them into a Burger King and, while I was waiting for my

order, I noticed some guy at the end of the counter gawking at

me as if I had 2 heads or something. I found it to be very annoying.

That was the only bad experience I had with them.

This is a pair of 4 inch oxfords I bought on sale at Payless for $6.

These shoes are very comfortable and I don't even notice the high

heel when walking. I've noticed a few people looking at them while

mall shopping but no bad reactions.

This is a pair of LEI work boots found on sale at Famous Footwear for

$20. They are a great pair of boots for the price. They are very

comfortable and walking in them feels great. They came in handy

during a recent snowstorm. I've never noticed anyone noticing them.
