Actually, even in the UK the police can search a vehicle they have already stopped for another reason (such as speeding or broken tail light) if they have just cause to believe that an offence had taken place.
Indeed, wasn't a recent UK terrorist attack foiled when police searched a car they had stopped for a minor infraction?

Black_Boots, It does sound like you handled the situation well. My only problem with your story is under what premise, one an officer could articulate in a court room, did the officer search under the scooter seat? Asking for ID was legitimate since you were operating a motor vehicle on a public road but what "probable cause" did he have to look under the seat? I am a law enforcement officer who also has a background in constitutional issues and I never enjoy seeing "easy targets". I congratulate you on a situation deftly handled.HappyinHeels
I just thought I would point out that Black_Boots isn't in the USA, so the laws are a little different.

I will probably be in Finland in a few months time...

I think that the answer is already in the article:
Priceless said that the shoe is actually from their very popular Tall & Small range which caters for women with smaller or bigger feet than the sizes usually provided by most High St retailers.
Personally I think it's great that Priceless do shoes in larger and smaller sizes than usual - being a UK10 myself.

I've venture that Payless probably has the largest percentage of men buying women's shores for themselves as any b&m store.
What is "b&m"?
-
Interesting how the guy says that for some women it is a "compulsion"... I bet it is for some men too!
-
No fancy dress tradition here unfortunately...

Bought last week in San Francisco. 3" block heel.
I was wearing this morning in Clapham Common when I went out for breakfast and some groceries under my bootcut jeans.
May I ask, what brand are those? Do you remember the shop where you bought them?

As it's an American holiday, no one here dresses up. A few of the children do, but they're always wearing something more in line with the theme, ghost, witch costumes etc, rather than any kind of crossdressing.

I sometimes see people convert EU42 to USW12, which I think is just ridiculous. In my experience, EU42 = UK8 = USW10. Of course there are often huge variations between manufacturers, which is a shame, but it's just way the world is unfortunately!

Dr. Shoe
Why does 1969 Italia advertise a size 45 EUR, but not one is for sale or shown on there site?
Spikesmike
They definitely used to sell some styles up to size 45 - however perhaps they have stopped manufacturing them in the larger sizes, or maybe they have just run out of stock. You may as well email them and find out.

Seeing an African person around here would be strange enough. I can just imagine the total shock of everyone, seeing an African wearing high heels! For some people, it would be their first time seeing either an African or a man wearing heels.
-
Why?
Perhaps because their website says: "At this time, we do not ship internationally."

Maybe once I win the lottery!According to the article at: http://www.wmagazine.com/accessories/2007/09/custom_louboutin particularly on Page 2: http://www.wmagazine.com/accessories/2007/09/custom_louboutin?currentPage=2

In what sizes are these available, jsphcass?
I'm not sure of that particular style, but many of their styles are available in sizes up to 45.

Before anyone bursts a vein, use your common sense. This is a satirical piece - and the thread starter would do well to state his source: http://www.solopassion.com/node/8095

At this time of year (at least in the US), "I'm dressing as a female ___ for Halloween, and I need to practice walking in heels" is probably an accepable excuse. If pushed, you can say, "I'm already a little self conscious about dressing that way, last thing I want to do is make a fool of myself by falling in shoes I can't walk in..."
That may be a good excuse in America, but I don't think there is anywhere else it will work.

It's a benefit of living in a first world country - where the people have great ingenuity and a can-do attitude! However there are still a few streets where the power is out, and people will need to boil drinking water for another few weeks yet.Sounds scary to me. (not the earth quake but having to handle the situation in a skirt and heels ) I'm glad you're ok. Surprising utilities (electricity, telephone and internet) are up and running so quickly. The earth quake was reported as being a 7 here -- which is kinda big. Hope things are back to normal normal soon.
Similarly, it's amazing that no one was killed. Thanks in part to a good building code. People often say it's too strict, but apparently it was all worth it!

I guess it depends where you work - at all the offices I've worked in a lot of the women would wear some kind of high heel sandal during the summer. This pair would not be out of place at al.
