Just spent a couple of nights walking in public in these heels. Male outer clothing ***INFO REMOVED***. On the street I received plenty of looks but no adverse comments. I was in a mini market where the staff paid no attention to my heels, though it was obvious I was wearing them by the sound, and when asked, were of the opinion that it was not their place to comment on me wearing them. Very grateful to them for their discretion and attitude, especially the girl called Sue. Sadly I broke a toe strap at a filling station on the way home, therefore my favorite shoes had to be disposed of.
Is the attitude to men wearing heels in public changing?

I've been reading about the Leeds Heelathon 27 September 2009, a 1.25 mile walk in heels for Breast Cancer. As a heel wearer who doesn't go outdoors it seems a perfect way to walk in public and be accepted and for a good cause - I've got permission to go on the next one, if there is one. Does anyone know of any similar events taking place where us indoor guys can show off our heels outside?

Flat sole, open toe with a 5" heel - otherwise my toes crush, but this only indoors. For allday use a 4" heel feels good though I don't walk outside in them.

I was a closeted heel wearer on rare occasions when I could. Last week I told my partner that I wanted to wear heels, caused a bit of a problem but we are over that now and I am wearing them in the house when she is in. She tolerates it but is not happy about it and we do laugh about it. It has proved that honesty is best and being open about it has done a lot for our relationship. She even said that it is better to do this than sit at the computer and download pornography - nobody gets hurt. She was concerned that lingerie & dresses would follow but I do not need that because I have what I want - the heels! I am dressing for dinner tomorrow - black trousers (male), black shirt (male) and black patent shoes with a 5" gold heel (no platform) - hands up those who think I am looking forward to it.

Thank you for the welcomes. I am an admirer and a wearer. I love the look of shoes with heels, so many different styles, shapes, colours, heel heights - why should women have it all, so I have some of it as well.

Sadly I have decided to hang up my high heels for a number of reasons.. It is not a decision taken likely and I am likely to visit my usual high heel shops that I may be in to try on what they have to offer. Can't do cold turkey. The last heels to be disposed of are pictured. The pink gladiator style sandals were my all time favourites. Very comfortable and wore them in public on occasions - 4.25". Nude sandals 5.5" Pink heels with blue & orange straps 6". At least I have the photographs and memories
