  1. You know, I've tried those on more than a few times in Payless. Comfortable, and classic looking shoes. I don't really recall them being as high as you say, though, but it's been several months since I've tried them on (so I'm most likely wrong). Comparing the Fioni brand to Mossimo, though, and my Mossimo shoes feel like slightly better quality.

    Thoughts?

Payless's Fioni brand have made the same basic pump, in different heights, over the years but their one called Hilt Pump (in black and red patent only), that I purchased, have a higher heel than most of their others. I have a number of Fioni pumps and the Hilt are about the highest, without a mini plat, I've ever bought from Payless.
  2. I have worn fancy heels for years but ONLY with sheer stockings. I'm wondering how many others here feel the same way? Heels without the hose is difficult and uncomfortable for me but with sheer hose a real turn on for my wife and I...!

Since I also enjoy wearing pantyhose, thigh highs or stockings, and even tights (in the winter) I find that Wal Mart has a good varity in the larger sizes and at a reasonable price. They have just about anything you would want. However, maybe you could consider buying a size larger shoe. I know there are a lot of folks in here that like a tight fitting shoe but I also like to wear heels without hose (in the summer) so I have a tendency not to buy a heel that's too tight.
  3. Half of the fun of working charity shops or thrift stores is the excitment of looking through all of the departments for something you like and can use and can get a bargain on cost wise. You know the old statement, what one man can't use is another mans treasure or words to that effect. I have even found Lionel and other train equipment at times needing only repairs and a little TLC. I have quite a few pieces in my train collection and you would cry if you knew what I paid for them. I occassionally find pairs of heels in the thrift stores as being in the normal womens sizes they show up frequently and sometimes brand new in the boxes.

I agree, you can find some pretty good deals. I've donated all sorts of items to thrift stores, over the years, and hopefully I've made someone's day with the heels I've donated. You don't normally find 4 and 5 inch heels, in a size 12, so maybe my recycling efforts brightened up someone's day!
  4. Has anyone seen these at Target yet?

    http://www.target.com/Mossimo-Valonia-Pump-Black-Patent/dp/B001G7F0OW/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton

One of the reviews states that in the larger sizes (she states size 10), the heel is a full 5 inches.

Think, five inch heels at Target - and available in size 11, only $29.99. I am going to stop in there tomorrow, and see what they have.

They look very similar to what Payless sells. The Payless version is called "hilt pump" and comes in black or red patent. In a size 12 the heel is just shy of 5".
  5. The fashion trend, for my lady co-workers, seems to be flaired slacks that appear to just about drag the ground with just a hint of the heels they are wearing. When sitting you can tell they are wearing some very nice heels but being that it's a fashion they cover them up. I'm more of one that like the 80's, where ladies wore skinny jeans with pumps or Candie's slides! Goes to show you how old I am but I definitely apprecated that way-back fashion statement!

  6. I love walking in heels that have a thin stiletto, without a platform, but I have to admit it sort of depends on the destination. Outside surfaces can be rough on stiletto tips so in the term of shoe care sometimes it's better wear heels that have more of a block heel than a stiletto. Inside is a different story, for me it's stilettos only and the higher the better!!!

  7. We can only hope that the shoe companies continue to provide larger sizes and not follow the route that Payless has chosen to take.

    Cheers---

You are spot on with that!!! I've said this before but considering the number of heels I've bought from Payless I proclaim to be a Playless "gold" customer, unfortunately their in-store inventory, in larger sizes, has dwindled to the point it's almost useless to shop there anymore. Yes, there still is the internet but I like to see firsthand what I'm buying.
  8. I visit charity shops, or commonly called thrift stores in the US, regularly but usually to check for women's clothing. I have bought a few pairs of heels, and I have found some very nice ones, but I purchased them for my previous girlfriend. About ten years ago, before I started ordering her heels off the internet, I bought her a pair of really nice 4" black pumps and even though we're not together I think she probably still has them. Of all the heels I've bought her the thrift store buy were her favs!

  9. I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all my fellow high heel friends a Happy New Year. May 2010 bring you the pair and acceptance you always wanted. Lastly I would like to say thank you HHP for allowing all of us an outlet to share our experiences. Happy New Year all. :cry1:

  10. Welcome Wearheels. You are not alone in here, that's for sure, and I think you will see there are many of us that truly love to wear high heels. It seems you have a nice collection of heels too so when you get an opportunity you might establish a photo album so you can show them off. Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy the site as much as many of us do.

  11. Maybe but it really has to depend on the shoe. Considering my collection I'd probably be perceived as one who buys cheaper heels. I view it as having a larger style selection vs. higher cost and not going broke. One benefit of having more (cheaper) heels is the choice of what to wear therefore the longer they will last. Of course the flip side of that is there are some brands on the market that fall apart (or come un-glued) only after wearing them a few times where a more expensive shoe is probably less likely to do that. Obviously this is just my opinion but I prefer selection over cost.

  12. I love the sound high heels make but purely for my own benefit and not for drawing attention to myself. For some of my shoes, with block heels that I wear in public, I've added stick on grabbers (that are typically for the sole of the shoe) to the heel to quiet the sound. Of course there is nothing better (in my opinion) than the sound of a pair of pumps, with pencil thin heels that have metal tips, walking across tile or concrete! Other than making that sound myself I will just about break my neck trying to see who is making it!!! It truly is music to a high heel lover's ear!!!

  13. Since a guy wearing high heels is not fully accepted (yet) I have to admit I check to see who's there first. I have answered the door wearing heels a few times but there have been more times that I've stepped out of my heels, right next to the door, before I answered and usually when it's someone I don't know. When I step out of them I'm sure whoever it is can plainly see the heels but their reaction is typically uneventful.

  14. Very nice boots! As far as suggesting anything I can only agree with everyone else, which comes from experience as well, but practice, practice, practice! Shorter steps at first works too but with enough practice you'll see the benefit. However the drawback can be, at least from a money perspective, is the benefit can become costly. Of course this comes from a guy who has a huge high heel shoe fetish so I don't imply to speak for all. Enjoy and congrats! You selected a very nice pair!

  15. My highest non-platform heels are black pumps with a heel height just over seven inches. I have some older white platform sandals, that have a nine inch heel with a four inch platform, but those were purchased more for just adding a variation to my collection. I've only worn them twice and they ended up back in the "platform" container. post-21426-133522898647_thumb.jpg

  16. I wear a size 11 in Jante 5" pumps. Does anyone know if Ellie brand fit similar? I want to buy a pair of these http://www.funkypair.com/6inchfetishshoes.aspx but can only get them online.

I have a few Ellie pumps but I find that their shoes run smaller than other brands I've bought in the same size. One pair that I really like, 5" red pumps with a black heel, are extremely tight and after wearing them I wish I would have ordered the next size larger. Very good looking shoe though.
